2 Chapter 2

- Xenon -

I was lucky there was no other zombie in the vicinity. It gave me time to check what I had in my inventory now, which brought a smile to my face. It was a pretty good starter pack.

I had a little foldable water-proof tent, along with a sleeping bag, which already solved one of the major headaches I'd been having. A lighter, a flashlight, a knife and some bandages and towels. A pack of canned food, mostly tuna fish, some jerky and noodles. Finally, I had a few water bottles. Overall, I'd say I had enough food to last me a week, if I am particularly stingy.

I had no change of clothes, that would be a problem. Especially since I'd already acquired quite a few bloodstains thanks to my encounter with the zombie. How I was going to shower would be another problem, I was used to showering at least once every two days. I'm not looking forward to how I'll smell in a week. Then again, I have to make sure long enough to worry about that.

The major issue I'm facing right now is: where the fuck am I? I haven't the slightest idea where I am. I can make a few assumptions, but they are just that, assumptions. Since I'm in the world of the walking dead, I'd assume I am somewhere close to the original plot. I know I could be anywhere in the world, but it would be safe to a certain extent to say I'm close to the original plot of the series. Which means I would be somewhere in the state of Georgia right now, assuming this is around the time the first season takes place. And that's a LOT of assumptions I'm making, which is pretty dumb.

As far as I'm concerned, I am in a zombie world in the middle of a forest. Without further informations, I cannot make a reasonable deduction of where I am.

So, I pick a random direction and start walking at a pretty fast pace. I shouldn't run, but that doesn't mean I should also keep in mind that I have a very limited amount of food. Speaking of which, I called my backpack, but kept most of the food in my inventory, just in case I meet someone, it would look pretty suspicious if I didn't have anything on me. Mainly, it would tell them that I was with another group, if I could afford to walk around without any supplies. I want to make it clear that I am alone. There are disadvantages to both choices, but as I have barely started out, I shouldn't give the wrong idea. I don't even know where I am, so if I meet anyone with unsavory intentions, I'm screwed.

< +1 WIS Gained! >

'Huh, it looks like the system liked my thought process.' I was pretty happy about that. I'm still unsure what this particular stat means, all I can tell is that it stands for Wisdom. Though if the skill I earned is any indication, I guess it would be a modifier for skills I might earn in the future.

Speaking of skills, so far I only had two skills:

< Skills >

[Gamer's Mind (Passive)]

Immunity to mental disorder.

??????

[Empowered Strike. (Active)] LVL 1

Cost : 10 SP

Empower your next attack, increasing its speed and damage.

( Speed & Damage increase based on DEX and STR )

<>

[Gamer's Mind] is unfortunately different from the original, which also allowed you to think calmly through any situation. But this is not bad either. Its effects were still unclear, so I'm led to believe I will have to figure them out by myself. I also didn't have to do anything to earn it, I had it when I first appeared here apparently.

The second one is self explanatory, but there is a lesson to be drawn there. The first skill didn't have a level indicator next to it, while the one I just gained did. Meaning the latter could be improved. But that begs the question: How? I had quite a few guesses which are most likely to succeed.

First off, the effect would obviously increase with my stats, so perhaps the level is judging the output based on STR and DEX, but that would also mean there is no way to improve the Stamina cost. The second possibility I could think of was that repeated use of the skill would increase its level, but I am not sure. I'd have to test it to find out.

- Daryl Dixon -

'What a dumbass…' is what he was thinking while surveying the random teenager walking alone in the forest. From the little time he spent observing him, he could already deduct a few facts about him. He was alone, he was inexperienced, and he was an idiot.

Daryl was right in front of him when he first spotted him. If only he was zoning out, he would've noticed the dude with a crossbow ready to shoot him in the head, but he was clearly out of this world. Walking in the middle of nowhere in these special times, and not paying attention to his surroundings… It made him chuckle when he remembers that he was hiding behind at tree he passed by, they were just a few inches away, but he still didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

The only thing that had him respect him for a bit was the fact that his bat was bloodied, meaning he did know how to use it, and wouldn't hesitate to do so. He could guess it belonged to one of the 'geeks'. He had a backpack with what appeared to be a tent and a sleeping bag attached to it, so he at least had some foresight to plan for his 'journey'… or whatever the fuck he would call this. Judging by the direction he was heading, he's probably going for Atlanta City. Which means he was heading towards his death.

'Time to give you a reality check, kid…'
