1 The Strongest

"Weak, they're all so weak. Why can't I ever meet anybody strong at this school? So boring!"

"Please Phoenix, don't do this! I can't afford to be hospitalized again! If I'm in the hospital all week then I won't be able to participate in the tournament again!"

"Well then, I guess you shouldn't have challenged me then."

Phoenix threw the random guy off of the school roof.

"My name is Phoenix, and I go to a Martial Arts school called Backston High. It's a school only for the best of the best, and the only way to get enroll in this school is to beat 1000 martial arts masters and pass a test. Anybody from this school could easily take out others from different high schools. However, to me, they're just a bunch of rookies when it comes to martial arts.

They don't know any techniques, all they know is strength.

In this world, martial arts is everything. Without it, your trash among trash, and it'd be hard to even find a low paying job. Martial Arts consists of strength and like I said, techniques.

You can attain strength through your cultivation. Our cultivation is basically meditation that helps to increase our lifespan and strength and we do this by finding the qi points in our body.

There are 3 cultivation realms that we can achieve to increase our strength and lifespan. The first realm is the Non-Divine, which means you're just starting cultivation and your not strong enough to challenge the divine.

Quasi Deity is the second realm. It shows that you have cultivated for a long time and you can be able to put up a fight against others and you would be a powerful figure and well known in the school.

The third, and final realm is the Greater Deity. When you reach the Greater Deity, it means that you have reached the peak of cultivation. You can be strong enough to challenge even the gods with your power.

The realms are then broken down into 5 stages. They have the beginner stage, intermediate, experienced, advanced, and finally mastered. It depends on your stage whether or not you can beat someone of the same realm. Training your strength is really important in martial arts. It's one of the main focuses.

Even though training your strength can help you get exponentially stronger, it's not all that you should focus on.

Some people might not know this but, techniques are really important when it comes to martial arts too.

If your fighting someone of the same realm and the same stage then techniques can come in handy.

There are many different techniques you can use. They are also categorized by Mortal, DemiGod, God, and Ancestor techniques. Mortal is what's primarily used by commoners. DemiGod rank techniques are primarily used by people of noble status. Very few people can use God and Ancestor techniques because they are restricted to those below Greater Deity.

My cultivation is actually at the Quasi Deity intermediate level. That's quite the high cultivation for someone like me, who hasn't used a resource before. I only have one DemiGod, one God technique, and several mortal techniques, though I don't use them. The reason why I'm so strong isn't that I have a high cultivation or I'm good at executing my technique.

It's just that it's too easy for me. I just try to find someone strong enough for me. I never take any of these people seriously and use little of my true power. I conceal my cultivation and only use my techniques if necessary.

The DemiGod technique I use is called Absolute Power, which lets me uses 10 percent of my power. This way, if I'm in the mood to fight or someone challenges me, I can activate the technique and beat them without causing death or permanent injuries."

Phoenix layed down on the roof to take a nap. He didn't wanna be bothered since he was so tired. After closing his eyes, he dozed off. Phoenix thought he was having a wonderful dream, smelling his mom's cooking and waking up to her voice. Instead of his mom being there, he woke up to some idiot talking all loud. "Yeah man. That guy was all talk and didn't have any fight in him. I beat him black and blue.

He was begging for me to stop, that dumb weakling. It's people like him that this school should get rid of." The way he talked really pissed me off.

"I hate people who are weak as hell and think that they can run other people." Phoenix thought to himself. Think for a bit, he finally said, "Hey you, who do you think you are to bully people like that?" "Eh, and who are you supposed to be? And what are you gonna do about it?"

"I don't have time for your trash, I'll be on my way." He walked past the guy and put his hand around his neck and slammed him against the fence. He then ran into him and threw a barrage of punches and kicks at his stomach. "Crying in agony, you're so useless. You have power, yet you use it for the dumbest thing."

Phoenix left from the rooftop and went to my training classes. He didn't pay attention to the instructors because what they were saying wasn't important to him. Once the teacher left them to exercise and practice, he got up and went to exercise on some mats that were laid out.

Phoenix closed his eyes and started cultivating. He felt someone glaring at him so he opened his eyes to see who it was. "Uh hello. Are you ugh Phoenix?" "Yeah, I am. Do you need something from me or something?" "Yes I just wanted some tips in cultivation and I wanted to know if you would spare with me?" "Sure. Come, let's spar!"

Phoenix activated his Absolute power technique and flung himself to the guy. He threw a jab at his stomach and kicked his neck. The mysterious challenger dodged to the side and kicked at his upper thigh. Phoenix, feeling the weight of the kick, fell and spat out blood. He got up and roundhouse kicked him in the face and sent him flying back a few yards. He looked at Phoenix in amazement. He jumped back up and ran at Phoenix like a tiger and punched with the strength of a bear.

"I'm surprised you've reached this level boy. Ok, I'll be ending the fight here." Phoenix activated one of his God techniques and hit his neck with a kick covered in qi. The challenger passed out on the floor with a thump. "I never even got the kids name. He wasn't a bad opponent. With time, he can become someone very strong." Phoenix sat down on the mat and took a nap while he waited for him to wake up.

"Uh Phoenix, wake up please." "What kid, can't I get a little sleep?" Phoenix got up and went to go sit down in a chair. "I'm sorry I just wanted to say thank you for sparring with me! Since I'm the headmaster's son, not a lot of people would beat me like you did. Thank you!" "Oh, so you're the headmaster's son?" "Yes, that's right!" "I have another question for you. Klein, I think?" "Yeah, that's my name." "Tell me, why did you challenge me?" "Well, your the only person in our class who's unranked. I just wanted to see where you stand." "Rankings? "

"Didn't you research this school before you came here?" "Nah I'm too lazy for all of that." Klein sighed. "You're such a problem child! Anyways, rankings are like what you get from fighting in the tournament hosted once every year. I also wanted to ask you, are you attending the tournament?" "Haha, I didn't even know there was a tournament. I've only heard about it from...well… this one guy I saw on the rooftop. I'm not interested in fighting those weak idiots." "So you're really not interested? The people there are really strong.

There might be some stuff you don't know about our school huh? The seniors at this school are the strongest in the country. All of them possess a cultivation of Quasi Deity intermediate and above, and they have God techniques. They're far from weak Phoenix. So tell me, are you considering joining the tournament now?"
