Clumsy

Drey watched Kira rush out of the bathroom, almost stumbling at the door He chuckled to himself before turning to the mirror. Suddenly, his body turned cold and his thirst for a bite increased. The veins appeared at his neck, he brought his index finger to his mouth as two sharp fangs appeared.

He bites the area near the fingerprint, and in a second, the skin around the finger turned purple as the venom spread quickly.

Drey struggled to fight the venom and eventually fell to the wet bathroom floor. His eyes turned ember as the struggled to stay conscious. Stretching out his hand, opened the cold water, but it didn't cool his body.

The finger with two dots was painful, and he growled in frustration. He remembered the old man constant reminders and quickly brought his finger to his mouth, smooching his saliva until his body was steady again.

Since Dany stubbed him with the poisonous sword his body reaction changed. There was this thirst in his throat where the venom threatens to to come out everytime body heat raise.

Drey emerged from the bathroom, still feeling the pain in his body. Thinking of the herbs Kira will put to his hands he covered the small bite with a thin dressing. Although, he had covered the bite area, the purple color hadn't faded away.

His eyes, once a fiery ember were now calm black. The veins around his neck had disappeared as his body cooled. He reached for his hair combing it and letting it settle on his shoulder, the water droplets continue to wetting him.

The pain was unfamiliar to him and he couldn't bear the thought of Kira witnessing his suffering. Putting on the bathrobe, he walked and saw Kira had picked out clothes for him.

He smiled, appreciating her ways of showing she cared. Despite not liking the bright colors, he wore them anyway, not wanting her efforts to go to waste at her ways of showing she cared.

The clothes made him appear more approachable and cheerful causing the maids gossip as he descended the stairs. The King liked Kira's choice and he smiled secretly. Even though the maids saw him smile, they didn't stared. They bow quickly and continue with there tasks.

Waking into the empty dining area, he found his butter waiting.

"Your Highness, everyone had already had their breakfast," Sydney informed, looking at the King's disappointed look.

Sydney served him his herbal tea and went back to the kitchen. The King sat at the table, sipping his tea and relishing the peace and quiet of the morning.

Despite the peaceful morning the nights incident was still fresh on his mind. He knew the person who attacked him at the kitchen but the second person was still a mystery.

Crazy things are happening.

Drey was about to leave when he heard the sound of rushing footsteps. He turned to see his butler, Sydney running towards him.

"You'll fall and break your nose again, If you don't watch where you're going, Sydney." Drey warned.

But it was too late. Sydney tripped and fell on his back.

"I apologize for my clumsiness My King," Sydney said as he got up.

Drey smiled, used to Sydney's clumsiness. "That song again?" He asked.

"I'm sorry Your Highness," Sydney repeated he couldn't believe his luck, he's always clumsy in front of the king.

Sydney was relieved to see the King temper today was under control. But still a little stunned from the fall.

"Just be more careful next time," Drey said in a kind tone.

Sydney blinked. "Thank you, Your Highness. I will be more careful in the future."

"What is the rush for?" asked the King.

"The herbs for the tea are over, Your Majesty," replied the servant. He was silent. "This was the last batch." He looked at the King waiting for his orders.

The King nodded.

"Jerome is leaving for the mountain, he will bring some." Saying that Drey stepped out of the dining area to meet with his knights.

Drey stood at the edge of the arena, watching the nights laughing and competing with each other. He took a moment to observe before entering the arena, where they greet him with reverence.

"Hail to the Great King of Rivea!" they shouted and bowed.

"You may raise," Drey replied with a smile, caught by their eagerness to hug him. Alex was the first to embrace him as the others followed the suit.

"We are glad you're well, King Drey," they said after the group hug.

Drey chuckled as Sol, the youngest refused to let go. The young knight was an emotional type.

"Ha ha ha," Amon chuckled. "Sol's been crying like this since you were stubbed, and now he thinks you'll evaporate." Despite the teasing, the young knight refused to move.

"You are lying, Amon," Sol responded through tears. The king had saved him and his family even though most of the people who relocated to Rivea were orphans, widows and widowers Sol had a complete family.

"I'm not," Amon replied.

"Don't believe him my King. You know how Amon is?" Sol said, standing firm.

"He is right, Amon," Alex added.

"Why are you always siding with Sol?" Amon frowned,

"Because you are lying," they all laughed knowing where the conversation was headed.

"You win!" Amon stomped his feet in frustration and shot Sol a menacing glare the young knight stuck out his tongue.

Drey spent the whole morning observing their duals and catching up on what he missed. When returned to his study, he found the impatient Jerome pacing outside the door. Before he could be scolded Drey simply passed by without acknowledging Jerome he went inside.

Jerome followed him into the study threw himself on the sofa, and watched as Drey held out an enveloped for him to take.

"I said I'm not going," Jerome yelled, avoiding the envelope.

"Then I'll send Alex in your place. Let's see how the old man will react when you don't show up after breaking your promise," Drey said, heading where his knights were.

Jerome thought the threat was a joke until he saw Drey at the entrance of the arena.

"You are joking, right? You wouldn't dare!"

"Try me," Drey said with a challenge in his voice.

"Heartless!" Jerome snatched the envelope stormed off to the stable, cursing the entire way.

Drey watched him go, with a smile that slowly faded.
