5 Power up

"Ahhh"

"Master it burns."

"Whyyy"

"I'm sorry, but it's a little sensitive between the races right now." Without hesitation the first three firballs were all directed to the dwarves. This triggered the disapproval function of the system leading to their immediate end. I only felt guilt for a second but they did attack me at the end of the day.

Also, Jacks power is too good to give up. The rest of the fireballs found themselves attacking the muzzle of the Alpha wolf. I dispose of the bodies off to the side so no one else could take them and they wouldn't be destroyed in the crossfire. Noticing the added unexpected element in the battle, the alpha wolf backed off of the A grader to reassess the situation, giving the A grader time to regain some energy.

*Awooooooo*

Realizing this plus the new unknown the alpha calls for a retreat. As they tried to leave I was finally able to catch up to the alpha. After a couple of rounds the alpha let out a final whimper before falling in death. Before I went to talk to the villagers I went to refine the blood from the alpha and the dwarves. I'll check those later.

"OOfAA" A wild battle scream rang out behind me as they surrounded me. I guess this is supposed to be a threat? Laughable.

"Stand down. My name is Eugene Brooks" The A grade called out. Eventhough, their superior told them to stand down, I could still feel multiple menacing glares from them. So the discipline must not be what it should. "Are you lost, friend?" I could finally get a good look of the A grader and it turns out to be an effeminate male.

"No, my name is Jalshani, but you can call me Jason and I am looking for Brookinger town."

"What business do you have with Brookinger town?"

"I've been ordered to bring the people here in Brookinger under the protection of Tempe it is the largest nearby civilization and if you wish to have a better chance of surviving it is safer behind some solid walls." I said honestly, all the while analyzing his face and mannerism.

"And why should we go with you?"

"Like I said, protection."

"Is that protection only you?"

"Look stay here and prepare for the next wolf raid or go to Tempe. It's your choice. I am just here to ask if you all would like to come."

"Why not you join Brookinger town?"

"Leave a CITY, for the safety of a tiny town that doesn't even have walls?"

"Does anyone here reject the idea of going to Tempe?" Eugene asked. No hands were raised. They went back and gathered their families and began to trekk towards tempe.

As I watched them continue on their journey, I noticed that Eugene wasn't with them.

"Hey, Jason I need to ask a favor from you if you are able to grant it, I'll swear my loyalty to you." Eugene kneeled down behind me pleading with tears streaming down his eyes.

" That depends on the favor"

"Of Course. I ask that you rescue my family." I let him continue on. " I went exploring some nearby ruins because there were some complaints from the villagers in my last village about strange noises coming from that area. So, as the leader of that village I ventured into see what was going on."

"As I got deeper the elements of the creatures began to change from an assortment to dark as I went further in. They became extremely strong. The fights I had with them were extremely gruesome. I had received wondrous rewards from the system and added new strands but as I got lower everything began to get eerie. That is until I got to the bottom of the ruins and I noticed different animals carrying humans into the depths."

" At first, I was going to get backup to rescue them, but then I saw my wife and son *sniff* *sniff* being carried in as well so I dropped everything and went to save them. I fought and I fought through the beast as much as I could but it wasn't enough there were just too many of them. In the end I ended up captured as well."

"As they carried us down we entered a room with walls of stone and marble. As I looked around I saw bodies everywhere and tentacles attached to them that seemed to be sucking something from them then I saw her. It was a woman in white scrubs. She had blond hair and pitch black eyes with no pupils. Her eyes still haunt me till now. I saw her hook up my family to the tentacles and as she was distracted I used the opportunity to escape." "

I thought it'd be the last time I could see my family. That is until I saw you. You are strong I saw how much damage that barrage did. I beg of you please come with me to save my family?" While his begging did seem genuine, I couldn't help but think that something was off with his plea. But, it sounds kinda interesting. Maybe I should take a look not to mention it triggered a mission.

-A Beggars plea

Investigate the mysterious woman and the ruins

Rewards: Level 3

Mission Time Limit: 27 hours until their demise.

I decided to go ahead and check it out and followed him. As we journeyed he kept looking back as if to make sure that I was behind him. Beast came and attacked left and right my number of dna strands gradually pushed for 100 so I decide to let it build up before I take a look at them.

Finally, we reach the edge of the ruins. I can see Cristo Redentor in the distance, and the aura coming from that direction begins to make my stomach turn in anxiousness. So, I decide for us to take a break so I can look over what I have and make some calls.

I decide to look over everything I have gathered so far, beginning with the new functions. Skill merging, I type it in on my device and it takes me to a chatroom where a couple of chinese dudes were discussing the topic.

Basically, from what I gather at least, skill merging is forcibly combining to strands together multiplying them by each other. It's only major limitation is that you can't merge 2 of the same skills together. Which makes sense since we have dna strengthening.

So I decided to experiment with the new function. First I see my shooting skill which boosts all of my shooting stats when I have a gun, bow and arrow, etc. in my hand.

Then I look through the skills that I have collected and I notice a few Sharp-shooting and something called sweet spot targeting. So I instantly begin to merge them after the first couple of failures I finally go a successful merge.

-New Skill:

-Advanced Sniper sense lvl 4: When shooting 60% chance of hitting targets weak spot doing 75% of attack power as damage.

"Holy crap" Friggin fraggin koala bears. I lost my sniper rifle in a fight with some mutated koala bears a while back. Ugh that would be awesome right now. Looking around in frustration I notice there is a glock 17 on Eugene's waist.

" How much for your pistol?"

"Huh,?" Seeming befuddled as if caught off guard he stumbled. "Umm do you have any light element dna strands?"

"Is light your affinity?" I asked because some people have affinities with some elements. To be honest I was bitter at first when I found out that my family didn't have any affinity but as more info came out I felt a little better.

Supposedly people with affinities get added bonuses from adding more dna holding that element. But, there are two reasons that having an affinity sucks.

Firstly, certain areas have element centered characteristics so if you live near a volcano that is full of fire, earth and dark, but you have the water element then you are just S.O.L. Which is the case for Eugene since this rainforest type area is full of water, earth, plant, and dark. Light barely has a place here.

Secondly, and the main reason that affinities sucks is that if you use any other element it will be weaker than if someone with no affinity used it. Not to mention if it opposes your element then it would cause a debuff effect.

So I look through the elements that I have collected and I found a weak flashlight ability and he traded me. It might seem like I am taking advantage of him but really it's the other way around since he doesn't really need the pistol but an ability that can illuminate the darkness would be very helpful. Plus, I have a couple more. Once the pistol enters my hand.

-Do you wish to bond with weapon

-Yes

The moment I bonded with the pistol the skill instantly merged with it.

-Glock 17 9mm-

-17 rounds

-Advanced Sniper sense lvl 4

Hmm, so if I use the pistol 2 out of every 10 of my shots would do 75% attack damage. But, it's not enough. So how can I make this even better?

-Are you sure you want to merge Advanced sniper sense lvl 4 and Intermediate fireball lvl. 3

-Yes
