70 Learning the Old Magic System

[There are 30 total elements in the old magic system. The first 20 of the new magic system, Ice, Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, Light, Lightning, blessing, Chaos, Curse, Healing, Plant, Poison, Shadow, Sound, Psychic, Summon, Undead and space. With that, there are an additional 10 elements.

First, there are 4 elements that are the upgraded versions of Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. They are called the 'origin' elements. Fire origin, water origin, wind origin and earth origin. Like your fire origin, they have elements that would upgrade from it. For example, Fire origin has plasma and explosion.

After those 4, you have the soul element. This element is the element used to control the soul. Unlike the new magic system, the old magic system needed a person to form what is called a 'spiritual core'. They naturally form at the age of 16. This is where you keep the elements of the old magic system. Everyone in day-to-day society has one, but no one can sense it.

Moving on, the 26th element is 'time'. I'm sure you know what it is used for. Time stop, time acceleration, time reverse, and at the higher tier's, time erase. But, for the price of the time element, your own time is taken from you. But, since the old magic system increases a mage's life span at every minor and major stage, the time element can be used commonly as long as one is at the peak of mid-tier level 3 or 5.

The 27th element is called the 'infinity' element. This is probably an element that is similar to the rarity of the soul element in the new magic system. There isn't much known about the infinity element, but it is said at the forgotten stage of the element, one can apply 'infinite' to something. For example, make a basic fireball 'infinitely' more powerful. Or maybe make someone's life span 'infinite'. Without a doubt, this element is one of the best, and together with time, infinite is a really good element with time. Infinite life span means you can just spam the hell out of the time element. The draw back is that it takes a long time to prepare a spell. To make your life span infinite, you would probably have to chant a spell for close to 10 years straight.

Thats off topic for now. Moving on, the 28th element is called 'crystal'. You can make anything into a crystal. Pretty self-explanatory, but I think you get the idea. Generally, it can be compared to the rarity of the fire element in the new magic system.

The 29th element, like I said before, is the fusion element. It is as rare as the lightning element is to the new magic system. It can fuse things together. Be it objects, energy, or even magic. A very wise sage that had reached the peak of the god-like state had gained enlightenment and was able to combine the magic element itself. He could even combine people together. So, for example, if he combined light and water, it would probably be something like 'holy water'. It is a very good ability. I was able to awaken this element. And now, its been passed to Mo Fan. He cant use it well since he cant cultivate the old magic system, but it is still there. It has a will of its own and he can fuse magic together if in emergency.

The last element is called the 'cosmos' element. If we were to compare its rarity to the new magic system, I would say it is a couple thousands more rare than the soul element. This element is the manipulation of the stars. For example, you can make a link with the sun and gain an element more stronger than the original fire or fire origin. Not only that, you can send people to space, freely teleport anywhere, anytime and you have the ability to travel between planes. One time, someone awakened the element and was targeted. He was dissected and with a little time, people were able to make tools that utilise the cosmos element. In the end, that guy's family became the top of the top of royalty, surpassing the king even.

That is the basic introduction to elements. Obviously, there were efforts to make man-made elements. The demon element is an example. Things like augmentation, death, destruction and the like were man-made. Not many people had it though because it all came with a price. Every person that has one of these man-made elements cant use another persons made move, so they have to make their own moves for the said element. Honestly, the demon element is like a power booster. Not much of an element.

You are pretty smart, so I think you can handle and make your own unique moves for these elements, so while you are meditating, I will slowly incorporate these 3 elements into you as they are the only man-made elements. You might start to feel like you cant breath that much, but you should be fine. The effect will last for 3 months as each man-made element takes 1 month to incorporate. Any questions?] said John

[Yeah, I don't need to breath to live, so will I still have that feeling? I breath because I don't want to forget the feeling and that it would be weird if no-one say me breathing while still talking. Also, isn't the cosmos element like the summon element mid-tier spell?] said Yami

[Good questions. Since you don't need to breath, then you shouldn't feel any kind of struggle to breath. And since you don't need oxygen, I can incorporate all the man-made elements in 3 weeks. And you are right, the cosmos element is the upgraded element of the summon element. You make contracts with the stars, but what makes it special is that you can do it with planets too, so if you did it with a planet like this Earth, you could gain water, fire, lava and so on elements. Thats another reason why the cosmos element is valuable. Unfortunately, only people with the cosmos element can even form packs, so there is no tool available. And said person turned into dust from over use of his mana.] said John

[Thats good then. When do we start?] questioned Yami

[Right now! Go into the lake and start cultivating.] said John while a slight tugging feeling appears in Yami's body

[I need to go back in half a year since that is the amount of time I have asked for a leave from the school. I could probably stretch it, but I would need to wait until next year. So you only got 6 months for you to train me and for me to regenerate your soul.] said Yami

Just before I was going to dive into the lake, a voice came from my inner mind.

{*Ding*, congratulations to host for discovering 'Old Magic system'. Your 'initiate double element awakening' constitution has upgraded to an 'initiate sextuple element awakening'. This will apply to both the old and new magic systems. And since at the super stage you would have gotten all elements, from then on for the new magic system, it would add to the old magic system. So instead of 6 elements for the new and old magic system at the forbidden stage, you would get 12 elements of the old magic system. If you have gotten all elements by the 'forgotten' stage or the 'god-like' stage, it will be converted into soul essence that will strengthen an element by triple power for every element you should of have awakened.] said the system

'God damn thats powerful! So, there is a total of 30 elements for the old magic system, and since I'm gonna start at novice stage, I'm gonna awaken 6 every time. So 6 at novice, 12 at mid, 18 at high, 28 at super because of the normal elements, and 2 at forbidden. Meaning, 26 elements of mine will be strengthened with triple the power. And great, my plan of getting an elemental spirit of the heaven grade is gonna fly out the window because now ill have to get what? 40+ at least.. AND they are all different elements. Though dimensional magic wont count since they go by levels instead of the normal process. Well, all for the reward..' I thought slightly depressed before meditating.

And so, 6 months had passed... (Yes, I'm gonna do it.)
