Demon World

Stepping through the portal, only a second went by as Talys led Mark out of the circle.

"We have arrived at our destination. We are now in a chamber in the castle of Orinter." Talys said, as Mark was looking around.

The room was massive, and it seemed to be an ancient library, with books covered in dust and spider webs. The shelves had to be thirty feet tall, and about two hundred of these shelves filled the room. Each shelve was completely full of books, as well, not a single shelf space left open.

"I didn't know demons read books," Mark chuckled, as he began browsing the nearest bookshelf. The books were covered in a thick layer of dust, however, as Mark scanned the selection, he noticed there was one book that looked as if it had been used just moments before their arrival.

Mark started to reach for the book, but was suddenly stopped by Talys. "That book is not for the inexperienced. It has power that would easily cause one with low power to lose their mind. That is why as you can see upon a closer inspection the book has been locked shut. The only person with a key would be your Father. Nobody, not even myself, knows of the contents of this book." Talys warned, as he showed Mark the ancient lock.

Talys then turned, and lead Mark over to a doorway at the end of the corridor. "Once we leave this room I will take you to your bed chamber so you may wash up and get a change of clothes. This castle is huge, so it will be easy to get lost since this is your first time here."

The corridor was long, it seemed to stretch on forever, with doors on each side as far as the eye could see. "What is inside of all of these doors, Talys? There are so many doors!"

"This is simply an illusion trick, intruders will always end up in the same spot no matter the door they go through. In order to not be affected by this magic one must have an item marking them as a member of this castle. I have this talisman, but it comes in various sizes and forms. For you I have the Prince's crown," he stated, as he pulled a crown adorned with beautiful gems and designs, from seemingly nowhere.

Looking at the crown, it was ancient as well, but still in pristine condition. There was not a scratch or blemish on it. As soon as Mark touched the crown the endless hallway seemed to warp and wrap around, until all that remained was a thirty foot hallway with only a few doors on either side.

"Now that you can see the true hallway the door we will be going through will be this one here, the third door on the left hand side. This will lead to the hall that leads towards the Royal Section, which only Royalty or those truly trusted by the King may enter." Talys stated, as he led Mark to the door. Once they approached the door, Talys opened the door which had a basic human like handle, and they entered the hallway.

This hallway was unlike the hallway they just exited. This hallway was adorned with statues and paintings, as well as vases and plants, and the walls and ceiling were golden in color. The floor held a giant red rug that covered every inch of the floor. The ceiling had an arch shape, and at the center of the arch there were candle chandeliers that lit the way with a beautiful golden hue.

This was a polar opposite of the bland grey hallway that merely had wall torches to light the way. 'Is there any reason why the other hallway looks so plain and empty?' Mark thought, as he followed Talys down this adorned hallway. As they neared the door at the end of the hallway, Talys turned around and motioned Mark to stop.

As Mark stopped, he could hear the sound of an argument taking place on the other side of the door. It sounded as if a man and a woman were arguing about how to deal with a neighboring village that had been attacked by monsters from the forest that the village was by.

"It seems to be lively today!" Talys laughed, as he then turned and flung the door open, making for a grand entrance, which immediately had the two people arguing stop and abruptly turn to look at who was at the door.

"Ladies and gentlemen! May I present to you, Prince Sylotar Nobek, heir to this Kingdom and Son of King Embyon!" he announced, as he turned and pointed at Mark.

"His human given name is Mark, so don't be surprised if he doesn't respond to Sylotar, the name given by his father!" He yelled, over the commotion caused by the both confused and celebratory onslaught of screams.
