1 The Beginning of the Ultimate Cameraman

Alec, 18 years old, was just wandering around town as usual when he noticed something he had never before seen. An old antique store. Of course it caught his eye, truth be told, he was a sucker for ancient things. So he made a decision that would forever change his, and anyone that he would ever meet, life. He went into the store.

Upon opening, the door hit a golden bell attached to the side of the wall. Alec glanced at it and nodded his head twice.

"Pretty neat."

Before he could begin exploring the store for the many wondrous antiques it surely held, a person came around from the room at the back and situated themself at the desk up front.

"Hello there valued costumer! How may I help?" They clasped their hands in front their chest as they greeted Alec warmly.

"Hello…." He wasn't sure of the person's name so he paused. That's when he noticed the little name tag on the side of their shirt. 'Mx. Safron.'

"Hello, Mx.Safron-"

Safron put a hand to their cheek and waved the other in front of their chest dismissively.

"No need for formalities dear, just Safron will do."

Now with given permission, Alec formatted a sentence inside his head properly, then repeated it aloud.

"Ok..Safron, I just wanted to browse around to see if I could find anything I liked. I'll holler if I find anything." Alec made sure he sounded as polite as possible.

He did just as he said and started to look through some of the items. He saw items as ancient as the Qin Dynasty and some as aged as WW2.

Alec was probably viewing items for a good seven minutes when he suddenly saw something unusual in the corner of his eye.

"What the heck is a professional camcorder doing in here? Isn't this an antique store?" Alec pointed this problem out to the Safron that was still around the desk.

They gave a closed eyed smile and said, "It was just a little souvenir of sort, you can have it if you want."

An incredulous looked flashed in his eyes. Was it that obvious that he was interested in it? It may have not been something antique, but who would be able to pass up a chance at buying one of these cheap?

"Oh, I could never accept something like this! At least let me pay for it." Alec offered.

"It's no big deal if you take it, it's pretty aged anyway, I was actually planning on scrapping it soon. Just take it if you want. Think of it as a good luck gift, I feel as if you are gonna do some amazing things in the future."

A minute of silence passed through before Alec finally sighed and gave in.

"Thank you very much! I swear I'll take care of it!"

As soon as Alec accepted the offer and touched the camera, a bright white light flashed and he disappeared. Instead of looking shocked, Safron had an impressed look on their face.

"Mh? I honestly didn't think he would be the one. I was just saying those words to butter him up to at least get that annoying thing out of here! What a nice surprise!"
