Memories of the Past (April POV)

When I was a child, my mom had always said I was a troublemaker. She said I did things like running of to unknown places when we were out on a shopping run. I always used to make trouble for her until, the day my father had left.

One morning I had woken up earlier than usual, probably because I had heard some kind of fuss outside of my room. So I went to check out the noise. When I opened the door and peered over towards the noise my mom had her knees on the floor crying, while saying "don't leave us behind, how am I supposed to take care of our daughter on my own!" I looked over towards the direction and saw my father leaving.

"I'm sorry..." my father said as he kept walking by the time he reached the door he turned his head around. "April, I hope in the future you don't resent me" he whispered and then exited the house. And that was the last time I saw my father.

Present day, today is the day I get admitted to the glorious high school Mallor. The school had been popular for creating the most successful people and anyone who could stay in the school till the end was guaranteed a successful life.

As I arrived at the front entrance of the school, I was completely mind blown. The gates were the length of my house and the building and the whole area took up like 25,000 acres.

I walked passed the gates and pulled out a map of the campus. "Man this place really is big" I said turning around the map to see witch way it was supposed to be and squinting at it.

After a few minutes of struggling I decided it would be better if I just followed the crowd. I looked around and saw people swarming around a posting board. I then realized that might've been the class assignments.

I squeezed through the crowd till I could get a angle where I could see the board. I look d for my name on the board and found it after looking for a minute. "So I'm in class 1b huh" I mumbled to myself. Considering on the fact that I had come from a poor family I was pretty proud of myself for being in 1b.

Next was the entrance ceremony, most of the ceremony was pretty boring. But what got my attention was the person who told the speech on behalf of the freshman. She had been very pretty, and apparently she was rich. But somehow she seemed familiar although I couldn't put my finger on why.

After the ceremony we were supposed to meet up at the class we were assigned to. Finding the class was pretty hard but luckily the first years had their own building which made it easier to locate my class.

When I arrived inside the classroom many people were already inside. The teacher came in and we all sat down. "Hello freshmen, I will be your home room teacher this year" the teacher said as she walked up to her desk. She grabbed a whiteboard marker and began writing her name.

After the teacher was done introducing herself, we were dismissed from class. So I headed out to my check out my dorm. The dorm building had seemed more on the normal side of the buildings. Probably because most of the rich people had rented expensive apartments nearby so the school did not feel like it would be worth making it extravagant.

I walked into the building and saw lots of people around. Probably because this year there was a large number of middle wealthy people instead of majority rich.

When I arrived to my dorm room I knocked the door before inserting the key just in case my dorm mate was already there. I heard a clicking noise and the door opened. A black haired girl with glasses appeared .

" Are you my dorm mate?" The girl asked.

"Yes I am, my name is April Meyers!" I replied.

"Hi, my name is Maya Forn", she said as she opened the door for me to come in.

Wow she seems really awkward I thought while heading towards my luggage which had already been delivered hear ahead of time.

"Alright I'm heading out, don't trash the place" Maya said as she grabbed her phone and purse then headed out.

"Hey I'm not a bum!!" I yelled back annoyed. Once she left I sighed,"This is going to be a hard year".
