Earlier that morning, Eric learned from Seid that Seraphine was not really what she seemed. 

Since he went ahead of him at that time, he got to see it happen. He witnessed how she transformed into this wisp of a shadow and wielded her dark magic through these nine dark auras that worked like her appendages. Even though she did not look like her, he noticed that they were wearing the same clothes. He also took note of how their voices sounded the same.

For now, Seid is not completely certain that it is Seraphine. That's why he was expecting Eric to question her about it some time after she woke up.

"But then, of course, your lovey-dovey moments have to come first and so do your proposal to take her to your castle. Now, it has come to her having some strange condition of going from scorching hot to icy cold," he said with a flat look, earning himself a death stare from his lord.
