53 Their Memories

I knew that I was wrong about Elena. I couldn't imagine what would happen if I didn't know anything when I was in a coma.

If I didn't hear anything at that time, would I still be indifferent towards my wife? Would I show my cold shoulder at Elena? I didn't want to admit it, but I knew that I would do that. It is hard for me to recognize this, but yeah, everyone was right that I was a scumbag.

My heart wanted to explode into pieces. I was so angry at myself if I could do it. I would punch the past me so hard. I wanted to tell the past me how stupid you were to abandon such a jewel in your palm.

I kneeled in front of Elena, I saw her crying in silence, and I didn't' know what she thought at all. I wiped her tears with a soft handkerchief. She didn't move at all or looked at me at all. What were these feelings? Was this the feeling Elena feel when I ignored her in the past?

Luke felt that love was blind because of the first love he abandoned his nominal wife. Even though he fell in love with Miona, he never went on a date with her at all. All three years of his marriage with Elena, Luke never betrayed Elena at all. He never met Miona after his marriage, and he was only busy himself at work.

Luke also realized marriage is not a game that you could play whatever you wanted. But he didn't want to know Elena more, because of his misunderstanding. He knew how hard for Elena all this time to be alone without him beside her. Luke's breathed became hard and heavy like there was a rock blocking his lungs.

All of my family are on Elena's side, so I thought that Elena was an evil girl so that she could attract my family's attention. But now I know that I was a scumbag, of course, all of my family would be on her side If they were not on her side, whom side they would be, except Elena's.

"Elena," I called her name softly. All of my heart hurt, and in pain, My heartfelt tight and suffocated me. I couldn't breathe freely at all.

While Luke was busy calling Elena, on the other side, Elena's mind was blank.

At the moment, I hear Selly's anger voice, and I couldn't sense what I truly felt in my heart. All of the original Elena's memory emerged to my mind like a movie kept repeating all scene when Luke ignored and abandoned Elena alone.

When they got married, Elena never had her first night with Luke at all. Elena only got a cold shoulder from Luke, after they officially got married, Luke went abroad for a business trip on the same day they officially got married.

Luke didn't look back at Elena, and Luke started his trip to the airport at the same time. Did Luke care for Elena? The answer was obviously no. Elena just looked at his back with sadness in her eyes, and Elena didn't ask him anything, and Elena saved all her complaints and sadness within her heart.

Elena knew that she didn't have the right to protest or complain with Luke even though they were married. This marriage didn't base on love. If the marriage based on love, you don't have the right to regulate all of his activities. Love bases on trust, not suspicion.

Trust can maintain your marriage until the end of your life. Suspicion will only destroy your relationship, that you have worked so hard to keep. In marriage, Maintaining your relationship is not only your duty, but it is a duty for two people that got involved in this relationship.

If you were the only one who maintained it, you couldn't control it when it collapsed and broken in the middle. Elena could only surrender in this relationship, and she knew that Luke didn't love her. Elena couldn't force Luke to fall in love with her, but she promised to herself to be faithful with Luke whatever happened in their marriage.

She hoped that one day Luke would realize her heart, but if Luke chose to let her go, she would let Luke go. You couldn't force someone to fall in love with you. You could only wish his happiness even though it was not with you.

Elena already learned from her past. She used to be a jealous and possessive girl with her first boyfriend. But reality only punished her with his betrayal. Elena is a pure girl with a pure heart, but her boyfriend cruelly betrayed her without feeling guilt in front of her.

So it made Elena realized, even though you forbid them from cheating, it was not useful at all. You would only get hurt mercilessly. It was the reason that Elena didn't prevent Luke go on their wedding day.

It hurt her the most, but she could only silently look at Luke's back. She never blamed Luke for whatever he did to her because Elena knew that he didn't love her at all. So it was not Luke's fault.

My heart was so heavy to understand the original Elena's feelings all this time. She is a pure and kind-hearted girl without ominous feelings. I couldn't talk at all and silently crying. If it was me, I didn't think that I could be as strong as her.

After a while, I heard someone kept calling my name: "Ele...na....."

I turned my gaze at Luke, who kneeled in front of me with tears on his face. He looked so pitiful like a dog that got abandoned by his owner. I could see his sad ears and tails. He kept holding my hand tightly as he feared that I would leave him, and he would live alone all his life.

I didn't have the strength to talk at all and laid down in his hugs. I put all of my weight on him and closed my eyes tightly. Luke saw my eyes closed, and he didn't wake me up and hugged me tightly. He kept patting my head softly and said something like sorry, but I couldn't hear his voice anymore as I slowly lost my consciousness.
