2 Chapter 2 Bill Pitt

  "Good afternoon, Jon."

  "Good afternoon, Sunny."

At the door of a tavern, Hardy happened to meet Sunny, who was also a high school student, Sunny greeted Hardy enthusiastically, the two worked together for three months and now they have become good friends.

Sunny is of French descent, with long chestnut hair rolled up. She is not particularly beautiful, but she is young—only 19 years old this year.

It is said that young women are not ugly, and Hardy thinks this is indeed the case.

The two of them entered together, after changing clothes and cleaning up, there were only a few customers in the afternoon.

After dark, a large number of customers came in, and the tavern became noisy.

The tavern is a mixed place, there are good people, but there are also a lot of jerks.

A guy drank too much. When he saw Sunny walking by, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into his lap. Sunny screamed in fright.

When the other drinkers saw this scene, no one stood up to stop it. Instead, they all smiled evilly and watched the fun.

Hardy saw Sunny's horrified look and glanced at the tavern owner, only to find that the tavern owner didn't even look at her and was still taking the beer seriously.

After working in the tavern for several months, Hardy knew that the tavern owner was a coward.

The boss turned a blind eye, but Hardy couldn't just watch Sunny being teased. Although the drunkard couldn't go too far in public, his behavior was already a great insult to a girl.

Hardy stepped forward and grabbed Sunny's arm, pulling her out of the man's arms. "You go to the back."

Sunny escaped, glanced at Hardy gratefully, and quickly ran into the kitchen.

The girl was taken away by Hardy. The guy who was teasing Sunny felt that he had been disrespected and felt very unhappy. He glared at Hardy angrily and cursed:

"Boy, are you looking for death?"

"This is a tavern. If you want to find a woman, go elsewhere." Hardy replied coldly.

The people watching nearby laughed, the drunkard was offended by being lectured by a waiter, thinking that people were laughing at him.

He picked up the beer on the table and threw it at Hardy.

Hardy subconsciously dodged and was not splashed by the drink; only a little splashed on him.

After looking at this guy, Hardy turned and left.

Being ignored by Hardy, the guy felt even more uncomfortable. He slammed the beer glass in his hand to the ground and broke it into countless pieces with a loud bang.

Hardy turned around and looked over. The man looked at Hardy with a mean smile and said with a crooked mouth:

"Boy, I accidentally broke the beer glass. Don't worry; I will compensate you according to the price. Don't hurry up and clean it up now. This is your job."

He pointed to the ground.

Hardy got a broom from the corridor, but when he was sweeping the floor, the guy stepped on the broom and looked at Hardy provocatively.

The surrounding drinkers watched what happened here with great interest, just treating it as a spectacle.

Suddenly, a violent emotion surged through Hardy's mind.

Half a year after traveling to this world, the modern soul has completely merged with the original soul, which has also caused a lot of changes in Hardy's character.

Originally, Hardy's character was calm as an intelligence officer in his previous life fining weakness and ignoring provocations is the most basic skill, but after integrating Hardy's thinking, he became much wilder than before.

Looking up at the drunkard, Hardy's eyes turned cold at this moment. The man's expression was stunned because he saw a strong, murderous look in the eyes of the young man in front of him, as if he were being stared at by a wolf. This look made him feel scared.

A feeling of timidity arose in his heart, but in the next second, he became even more angry. How could he frighten a tavern's adaptability? This made him feel ashamed.

"Boy, how dare you look at me like that?"

The guy was drunk and punched Hardy.

"Bang~!"

Before the drunkard's fist could hit Hardy, Hardy moved and punched the guy hard on the chin. The guy was punched and hit the ground hard.

Hardy stepped forward, straddled the man, strangled the bastard's neck with his left hand, and punched his face hard with his strong right fist.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

He was beaten so violently that the guy's mouth and nose were bleeding.

The man was still struggling at first, but after a few punches, he completely collapsed on the ground and became like a dead dog.

The boss came quickly to pull Hardy away.

"Jon, stop punching, you will beat him to death!"

Everyone in the tavern looked at Hardy in surprise. They didn't expect that this adaptive waiter, who usually doesn't talk much, would be so violent when he lost his temper. If no one stopped him, he might really beat that guy to death.

After a short time, the police came, and the man was taken to the hospital. Hardy was taken to the police station and then detained for assault, pending trial and sentencing.

He was detained for about a week before the court session.

In court, Hardy's lawyer presented a mental illness certificate and called several witnesses, including the girl Sunny. Because the other party was at fault first, the judge finally ordered Hardy to compensate the other party with 350$.

With compensation plus legal fees, Hardy's retirement allowance was all used up at once, and he even sold some things, including the second-hand Colt revolver.

He was a complete pauper. he also lost his job as a bartender because he caused trouble for the boss after all.

When he went out to find a job, everyone rejected him. The town was not big, and people had heard about what happened in the tavern, they knew that Hardy was mentally ill, and no one was willing to hire him to avoid trouble.

Just after returning home, Hardy saw the girl, Sunny, standing at the door of the apartment.

"Jon, thank you for helping me that day. Also, I have resigned and am preparing to leave Orange County." Sunny said.

  "Where are you going?"

"I have saved some money during this period and am going to continue my studies."

"You are still very young, and you really should study. What do you plan to study?"

"I am going to study law and become a lawyer or a judge in the future. it was because of what happened in the tavern that day that I had this idea." The girl said,.

"A very good idea; I hope you succeed." Hardy encouraged.

Sunny O'Connor looked at Hardy, suddenly stepped forward to hug him hard, and kissed him on the cheek.

  "Thank you again, Jon; goodbye."

"Bye~!"

Looking at Sunny's back, Hardy didn't know if he would see this girl again in the future. In fact, many people just passed by you on the journey of life. Passers by who have passed away may never meet again.

Lying on the small bed in the apartment, Hardy was thinking about how he should live in the future. He might not be able to stay in Orange County anymore. At this moment, the landlord came up and called him. He had his phone number downstairs.

Hardy went downstairs to answer the phone, but unexpectedly, it was Bill calling.

Bill and Hardy were once comrades on the same team and best brothers. Hardy even saved Bill's life on the battlefield. He was injured in a battle. After the injury, the guy retired directly, leaving a year earlier than Hardy.

Bill was very enthusiastic on the phone. "Brother, I just found out that you were injured and retired. I finally found out your contact information. How are you doing now?"

"Not good!"

Hardy talked about his previous experiences and current situation. .

"I'm penniless now, and I've lost my job. What's worse is that everyone here knows that I'm mentally ill, and no one wants to hire me."

Bill laughed and said, "It's not a big deal; come to Los Angeles, there are lots of ways to make money."

Just like that, Hardy packed his things and set off for Los Angeles.

As soon as he got off the coach with his suitcase, Bill got out of a Ford car next to him and came up to give Hardy a bear hug.

After the two separated, Hardy looked at Bill. Bill had dark blond hair, clear blue eyes, and the typical short stubble on his big cheeks. He looked 70% like Brad Pitt.

Hardy thought to himself, Bill's full name is Bill Pitt.

  His surname is also Pitt.

So he can't be Brad Pitt's grandfather, right?

"Haha, Jon, I finally saw you again." Bill said happily, slapping Hardy's arm.

"It's been almost two years since we separated, and you're a lot fatter than before."

Hardy patted Bill's generous back and said,.

  "I'm not fat," Bill retorted.

As he spoke, he took the suitcase from Hardy's hand and threw it into the back seat of the Ford.

"Get in the car, and lets go to the bar to have a drink."
