15 Wish Fulfilling System

"..Don't go there..."

"..."

Izekiel tilted his head, then an amused smile curled his lips.

"Am I the cause of your nightmare?"

Johanna couldn't say anything more. But the tension upon her face was obvious. She was close to him, so close that her warm erratic breaths kissed his neck.

Izekiel slowly lifted his hand and ran his fingers through soft brown locks. The princess was strange, she would be cautious and fearful of him during day and then at night she would get so close.

He glanced out of the window, towards those faraway snowy peaks as his gaze turned distant and deep. A shadow of something dark flickered in the depth of his eyes before he got up and left.

It was his name she whispered when her eyes opened, a heavy feeling had settled in her heart as the faint hazy memories of last night entered her mind.

In the end, Izekiel didn't abandon her...

His arms carried her when hope was lost, his lips warmed her when the cold was drowning her deep, and when those nightmares of the past invaded her heart, he had gently caressed her...

Nesrin frowned.

That part of her memory has to be a dream.

Izekiel was not the kind of man that showed affection to anyone. In the future, Lillian will be the only one for whom his frozen heart would beat. Nesrin was not Lillian nor did she have a personality like hers.

But he saved her….

He was also not the kind of person to save anyone unless it benefits him. Nesrin licked her lips, a conflict and a dilemma was arising inside her. The turmoil within her made her wonder how much she really knew Izekiel…

Nesrin was having these thoughts as she gripped the edge of the bed. He was beginning to confuse her. Her grip edge started to shake.

"Stop with all this nuisance!" Lady Croff hissed while trying to pull Nesrin up,

"Well pardon me, my lady but I choose to live!" Nesrin complained and tightened her grip around the bed.

"Don't act like this only because of a corset! Every woman wears it! How poor was your family to not have taught you such etiquette??"

"We were beggars," Nesrin wondered how Lady Croff had such strength at her age, "Corset were too expensive to afford, please try to understand."

"You need to look like an imperial consort, even if you are of lower birth! I am trying to help you!"

"I don't need that corset!"

"Your waist says otherwise!"

Nesrin's face now flushed red, no one has ever said that to her. The body that she received in this life was close to perfection. She turned back and looked accusingly at the head maid.

"I am perfectly fine."

"Look-"

"Lady Croff, you swore you will obey everything I say unless it is about running away. Then please go search for Johanna, instead of making me do these strange things."

"But-"

"Also, I don't want the maids to wash me. I am capable of doing that myself. There shall be no one attending me, not until I say so!"

Lady Croff's eyes twitched in annoyance. She placed her hands on her hips and stated plainly,

"You will never be able to appease his majesty with that attitude."

"The purpose of my life is not a man, my lady."

Lady Croff only scoffed at this as she turned to walk away,

"For a girl like you, in a place like this...only protection from a powerful man can ensure your safety. You are weak, your highness. Don't forget that."

Lady Croff emphasized 'your highness', it was a reminder that she was already walking on a tightrope by pretending to be someone she was not.

The brutal honesty of those words was like a cold splash of reality on her face. Nesrin didn't completely agree with Lady Croff, for she at least has the knowledge of the future and that is a powerful thing to have but regardless of that, what Lady Croff said wasn't completely wrong.

Johanna had died in the novel because of her weak nature. Because the princess had failed to create strong ties. To ensure safety, a person either needs to be powerful or they need to have powerful relations.

Nesrin understood how beneficial it will be to have someone who is protecting her. But the protection from others is always temporary.

She was well aware of this.

Nesrin took in a shaky breath and sat on the bed, a certain memory of the past had pricked the barrier she built around her heart. Life taught her that she can only rely on herself.

Instead of looking for protection, Nesrin will create it.

-system?

[The system is here for assisting the character 24/7.]

Nesrin has never read system novels but she knew that the purpose of these systems was to help the character level up. She will become stronger like this and survive in this palace!

-tell me about yourself.

[The system was created by , to fulfill the last wishes of souls. The current mission assigned to the system is to make sure the story is cured of plot holes, the flow is smoothed out and everything happens how it should be.]

-Okay...ah, how can I level up?

[The character can level up by gaining exp points and mana points.]

-And how do I get these points?

[A character can gain points by completing quests, unlocking hidden scenarios, finding secret treasures and interacting with other characters. The quests are the fastest way to level up.]

Nesrin nods in understanding.

-When will my next quest come?

[The character class is canon fodder, there is no need to become stronger. The quests will arrive when there is need and the purpose will be to make sure that the character can fulfill her role successfully.]

Nesrin slumped down over the bed with a heavy sigh. She gazed blankly at the ceiling and asked her next question,

-what is my role now?

[The character's role is to die when the time comes, and thus help with the protagonist's journey and development.]

Nesrin pressed her lips into a thin life. She should have been more specific with her wish, that ominous voice scammed her really bad. It was too clever and way too wicked!

However, there was one thing that Nesrin hoped could work.

-System, show me my primary character class.

[Primary character class had been identified as cannon fodder.<<change>>]

-change

[The character class can not be changed. Reason: Insufficient level]

Nesrin groaned.

-What level do I need?

[Level 10 is required to change the character class.]

Nesrin frowned.

-and...how many points are needed to reach level 10?

[The point distribution for next ten level is as follows;]

[Level 1: 0 EXP, 0 MP]

[Level 2: 100 EXP, 50 MP]

[Level 3: 150 EXP, 100MP]

[Level 4: 300 EXP, 200MP]

[Level 5: 600 EXP, 400 MP]

[Level 6: 1.2k EXP, 800 MP]

[Level 7: 2.4k EXP, 1.6k MP]

[Level 8: 4.8k EXP, 3.2k MP]

[Level 9: 9.6k EXP, 6.4k MP]

[Level 10: 19.2k EXP, 12.8k MP]

"..."

There was a long moment of silence.

Nesrin lifted a shaky hand towards the screen, her fingers paused over it for a second before she swiped it away. These points were absurd, after risking her like yesterday she only received 150 points for experience.

The quests are not going to be much, then how can she level up??

She concluded there is no way she can change her fate with the help of this system.

Nesrin recalled what happened last night, she had never thought he would come back but he did save her. She creased her brows together. It was so hard to understand what goes in his mind... but maybe, maybe he rethinks his decision this time...

Nesrin quickly shoved back her conflicting emotions, she might not know everything about him but she still knew how many cruel absurd sins he commits in the novel. There might be a human side to Izekiel, but in the end he was a merciless tyrant.

Hoping he lets her stay alive will be hoping for rain in a desert.

As her eyes slowly closed, she was reminded of the words her mother had once told her.

'When there is no way, create one. What is the point of living when you can not make yourself better than before? What is the point if you give up in front of hurdles?'

Her mother often said bitter truth...and as Nesrin recalled this sentence, she felt this familiar suffocating feeling crawl up her throat.

She can not fail.

It was as if she was still bound to her previous world and her previous life, despite coming so far.

"Y-your highness..."

Nesrin sits up on the bed and sees a young maid on her door. She seemed scared and it was as if she wanted to just run. Her frightened moist eyes looked pleadingly at Nesrin.

Nesrin's eyes saw the maid in worry,

"Come in,"

The maid curtsied, in her hands there was a piece of paper that was scrunched due to her anxious grip. She hesitated for a moment and then knelt in front of Nesrin. Tears welled up in her eyes as she confessed,

"I have committed a sin! Please punish me!"
