His heart raced frantically in his chest and his eyes keenly looked at the door, waiting for the doctor to come out and tell them that she was alright because now he would not accept any bad news related to her.  And as soon as it opened, he walked over and questioned, "Doctor, how is my wife now?"

He was ready to trade anything for her life. Anything. 

The doctor nodded as he removed his mask and looked at him with a complicated gaze. Truly, they had declared her dead in their heads as they could not find her heartbeat but like a miracle, her heart started beating again after shutting down for few seconds. They would not agree but it was their saving grace too. He knew what Xin Yichen was capable of doing to them if they were not able to save his daughter's life.
