Chapter 1 : Graduation day

" Gosh! 4 years has passed by in the blink of an eye. I can clearly remember the first day of school when we were waddling in the school compund like a couple of duckings. I just can't wait for the prom to start!!! How about you?" Naomi, my best friend since the first year of secondary school, gushed.

" I'm so not looking forward to the prom. I don't understand why they have to make it compulsory, this is such a waste of my time.

And no i am so not gonna wear that," i said to the wine red dress that Naomi held up. " Ill look like a dumpling." " For god's sake! Sharie can you stop being a wet blanket? You will look absolutely gorgeous in this. Plus its the last time we will see everyone in school. Just go okay?"

"Fine i will go but screw the dress code i am so not going to wear a dress its

going to make my already short legs look shorter," i said pointing to my 5 foot figure.

" You are so not having a say in that. I will be personally handling your attire from head to toe for the prom, and if you try to escape, i will tell uncle and auntie about you skipping extra curriculum classes for 1 week." Naomi threatened.

"Fine!" I spat

Naomi grinned like a Cheshire cat.

She then proceeded to drag me from shop to shop holding up dresses which she tossed to the side the minute she saw another that struck her fancy.

After 4 long hours of shopping, Naomi finally found a dress that she deemed acceptable. It was black, with two thin straps that went around my shoulders, and while it was tight around the upper half of my body, it loosely swayed around my lower half.
