Two weeks have passed since his betrayal, and Aaron's disappearance, and Edward still hasn't forgiven himself for the twisted betrayal he committed against Aaron. Pained with the long lasting guilt he feels inside, he is eventually given a second chance to make things right again, although the fate that will be waiting for him, just might prove to be his downfall instead, when he travels to Earth in search of Aaron's corpse.
The damp, dark atmosphere shoned down below the former prince, Edward Saurshadcow, as the heavy tight grip around his ankle throbbed and aced, as the chains burned against his flesh, from the sudden flames that were transported through the chains, that burned into his flesh every few minuets. A machine created by his own father, in order to keep him feeling punished. The prison he was in, was damp and dark, so he could barely remember what the sunlight felt, as the bright gleam of the dawn rose over his head, on those late mornings.
Even though he missed the sun, his family he missed more. His mother refused to come visit him, and his father had spent much more time attending to the punishments giving to his sister, Alice Saurshadow. For she deserves much more than he did. The blood was on her hands not his.....The attention drown to him, hadn't been discovered yet. To everyone's knowledge, Aaron Channing simply didn't exist. However, the false memories that had been planet into their minds, brought down by his fathers orders, could only work for so long. Edward, feared the worst was yet to come.
There was a chance even if he was set free, proven that he was indeed innocent, the guilt he felt, eating away his insides would make up for at least a thousand years of cruel punishment. As the memory of the fallout, replayed over and over in his mind, as his thoughts were all that he had, his throat burned, as his fists offend brought off steam. Even imprisoned, his emotions still triggered his abilities. There simply was no way to stop the bond between the powers and the emotions. Edward knew his guilt was also what was triggering, his emotions. Aaron Channing, has been thought of closely as a friend. An allie, as time went back. The first thought, was of him as a pone. A simply chess piece that could be used to steal his powers.
But as time went by, Edward found himself developing odd feelings towards the nineteen year old cold one. But the plan still remained the same. Aside, from the simply change that Aaron would have his powers taken on Earth, not on Nation Valley. He wasn't going to die the same as that young girl. Edward promised himself, no harm would come to him. And what happened? So much harm....
So much battle wounds....
So much blood had been spiled.....And who lost the most blood? Aaron. The one person he promised wouldn't be harmed.....Edward felt the tightness start to develop around his bottom lip. He was quick to stop the sudden pain, but just as he started to react, he tasted his own blood. Having just ripped open a small part of his lip, as he took in the taste. How he could he have known Alec Karmari wasn't even a part of their species! How could anyone know?! He certainly didn't know the answer to the most raging question that kept setting his mind on fire.
As angry as he was towards the sudden truth he graved to figure out, he felt the heaviness of the chains start to weight him down, as his wrists burned, with roaring pain. And in seconds, his voice, suddenly experiencing large amounts of pain, echoed off the prison walls. The timer had gone down, which triggered the device. Sending many amounts of his own fire straight back at him. Which caused his flesh to burn and boil almost immediately.
He was heavily frozen, unable to move a single muscle, as the pain slowly became less and less. As he blew the bits of steam and smoke that escaped from his boiled skin, he watched as the steam vanished, and he continued on with his thoughts. The punishment he'd been hooked up to, was one of many. Many his father, King Clark, had had made for prisoners, who were deemed eventual second chances, and were deemed to important for banishment.
Edward knew right away, he didn't deserve that honour. He was rightfully responsabile, for Aaron's demise. He hadn't seen it fully, for the last spell Aaron casted towards him, had caused him temporal blindness.....but, the attack, he'd figured out later on, wasn't intended to hurt him? Or so he figured. For the lighting didn't burn him, instead, it acted as a means to setting him free. The last thing he remembered after the smoke had cleared, was the melted ice that had once been holding him in place, and nothing but leftover blood, stained along his palms.
If Aaron really intended to harm him? Why did his attack set him free, instead? Edward was sure of himself, Aaron had pretty good aim when it came to getting things done. And protecting himself against Alec, after the first bite, was something that needed to be dealt with. So why was his aim so spot on, when the flame was shot towards Alec, but missed him completely? Could Aaron have finally understood how shiitty Edward trully felt? Or was there just a bigger plan, behind those bright blue eyes? Edward wasn't sure.....But as he swallowed the dryinnes forming in the back of his throat, he desperately tried to bring some life back into his body. And sort of strength that could lead to energy, was what he craved the most.
Since being locked away in the basement of his parents castle, he'd done the same things over and over. Most of the time he was there, he'd spent asleep. For lack of energy didn't give him to many choices to do things. He swore, he was starting to lose the color in his skin. His body was starting to adjust to the darkness, his body was starting to act as a replacement for lack of vitamin C.
For what felt like hours, he sat with his legs stretched out in front of him, with his bright orange eyes bowed down to a small crack in the dark, black, flooring along the prison cell. That was his most recent place, to think. And since he had no place he needed to be, he found himself going to the crack in the floor a lot. Most times it seemed almost comforting for him.....
''I'm so disappointed in you, son! So very disappointed!'' He instantly looked up, past the bars of the prison door, as he could farily see his fathers shadow, staring back at him. Edward couldn't see it clearly, but he'd seen his father angry, he hadn't forgotten what that was like. His mind was good for something when it came to remembrance.
''I know, father. You tell me everyday you visit me....how's Mom?''
''She's heartbroken! How can you even ask that! You should know the answer by now, since your responsible for what has happened!'' King Clark barked.
''For the hundred time, Father! I didn't act as a second in that murder! Alice committed it all on her own, and by the time she told me anything about it, it was to late! The vampires were already blamed, and the girl's body was picked up the next morning! What did you want me to do!'' He barked back. Edward wasn't clear on his father's wishes for him. Since the moment his eyes found nothing but that dark, black, prison cell floor, his father had placed the blame onto him. Regarding Alice's crime, which he hadn't shared a part in. Edward still had the heavy weight of keeping the crime a secret, and it only weighted heavily on his spirt, the more and more it was brought up around him.
He always felt sick, and was offend unable to eat, when he could feel his body punishing him. He began to notice the sudden changes, when he was unable to eat for days on end. As the weight began to drop from his once muscular body, he began to notice how quick it'd take him to get sick. How many times, he had to be taken from his cell, to have it cleaned, after the first couple times he'd puked up all his food. The second times, resulting in blood coming up, through his puke instead of food, for he felt nothing but numbness and emptiness.
His body was severally growing more damaged and damaged each and everyday. As he wished, he hoped it wouldn't be long now....Surely he'd be able to drop dead soon, right?
''How long do you think it'll be, father?'' He asked softly.
''How long till what, son?'' King Clark asked in confusion. Unsure of what it was his son wished for.
''Well, eventually I'll either die here, or I'll die on which ever planet you sent me to? I wish to know how long I'll have to be stuck guessing?'' He wondered.
''I've already told you this before, Edward! Your mother and I aren't going to let you die! And banishment isn't an option! Not for a son of mine!''
'''But I want it....'' He whispered. ''I want to die, father, I deserve to die...''
''Stop it! Stop it right now! I won't have you saying those words while I'm around! Understand! Either way, we won't let you or your sister die! Most of the people still believe it was the vampires, who killed that young girl those years ago.....We've been able to convince them, your sister is almost allowed to be freed from her prison, as well as you.''
''Why are you doing this, father?''
''Why am I saving your lives? That lives of my children? Its my job, as a parent! As your father! I won't have you banished or killed.....'' King Clark had his voice raised, then slowly dropped down to a whisper. His eyes were clearly filled with so much sadness, Edward couldn't help but feel bad for him. The position he'd put his parents in, only haunted his dreams at night. Adding onto the list of physical damage he was already induring.
''Your trying so hard to save a son.....a son of yours, who clearly has told you he wants to die....and you continue to ignore his wishes...why?'' Edward repeated.
''Edward, stop acting like this, right now! I told you where you stood, as far as I'm concerned what happened on Earth. stays on Earth! It does not follow you back here, what happend to that boy, is very unfortunate, but its done. Over with now! Nothing can be done to bring him back! As for that vampire, he's been safely dealt with. I can assure you, he'll remain far away from you at all times, once you reclaim your throne.''
''Wait? He's here?!'' Edward's eyes widened as he was fed the sudden information. Alec, Kamair, the vampire who'd fooled them all! The one responsible for what had happened to Aaron Channing.....was on Nation Valley...imprisoned somewhere.....
''How could you bring him back here! How could you do this to me, Father, he's a monster!'' Edward shouted, his voice rising, as he ignored the sudden pain of the burning as it burned once again into his flesh. Having been administered every few seconds. He rose from his spot on the floor, his eyes staring into his fathers dark ones.
''He's a monster! He killed Aaron! I saw it with my own eyes! He killed him!'' Edward repeated over and over. His father lightly cringed, as he backed away from the cell. Releasing a disappointed sigh, as he wiped the tiredness from his under eyes. As he opened them again, he proceed to speck.
''Stop this, please Edward. The vampire Alec Kamair, has been dealt with. He's been imprisoned here, yes, he's here on Nation Valley, but we've made it so he's unable to hurt anyone! As for Aaron Channing. we've seen no evidence, and he hasn't been reported deceased...so we can say that for sure, son....In the meantime, I ask that you stop talking about this, and get some rest. We wouldn't want you to puke up your dinner, for a second time this week...I ask you though, son, please try and keep yourself as healthy as you can. It won't be much longer...''
As Edward was left with the sorry image of his father, he hadn't even noticed he'd collapsed to the floor. He could feel his weight pressing down onto his knees, as he finally felt the numbness inside him, start to fade. Finally being able to feel the sudden burns that started increasing, worsening, along all sides of his wrists. He quickly tried to rub the pain away, as time went by, as a familar taste filled his taste buds.
Blood.
He'd gotten sick again...
