The alarm had been ringing for over five minutes before

Hannah with her eyes still closed reached for it and turned it off.

It was Monday another day for her to go to school. She tiredly got off her bed and looked around it was still dark outside.

Her eyes were drooping and the temptation for her to go back to bed was strong but she knew best or her mom would bicker and holler about her going to school late and she wasn't in the mood for that.

Being the first born of the family her mother was always at her throat always aiming for her to be perfect but she knew like everyone else that no one was perfect.

She went to the bathroom, had a hot bath, dried herself up and wore her uniform.

After which she rushed downstairs for breakfast because her mom would talk about her being late for school.

It was still 6:30am at the dining room she met her sister.

Sarah who was already eating at the same time grumbling about not having to sleep well because of school.

Sarah was a nice person but got easily irritated when woken up early in the morning she detested it.

Hannah didn't bother talking to her so as not to be the center of her anger.

That was exactly the last thing she needed as she herself was still tired after sleeping late working on a school project.

"School' she cringed at the thought of the word, it was the center of all her problems.

In school she had to be neat, perfect, always in first place, please her teachers and her parents, advice students and even tutor them and the list goes on.

Sometimes she feels like dropping all her responsibilities to be free, but there was nothing she could do everyone including her parents looked up to her and her sister wasn't making the work any easier as she was always at her throat, ready to be mischievous at every point in time.

"Hannah, hope you've got all your school stuff ready", her mother's voice broke her thoughts,

"Yes mom, Good morning", she replied.

"Your teacher called me this morning to tell you not to forget your project like you did the last time".

So much for wanting to drop my responsibilities, she thought.

From the corner of her eyes she saw her sister mimicking her mom, to keep herself from laughing she bit the inside of her cheek and nodded to her mom to let her know she heard her and resumed eating.

When she was done she went upstairs to her room and did a last minute check on her hair and uniform when she was satisfied with her look, she carried her school back and went downstairs where the driver was already waiting.

She got behind the back seat and brought out her assignment note to make sure she didn't make any mistakes.

"Do you always have to please mom and dad?", her sister asked.

She looked at her and shrugged,

what did a ten years old know responsibility.

But somehow she felt she was right, she looked over at her sister who was munching chocolates, she looked happy, no responsibility or burden.

"I guess I have to ", she replied and her sister snorted a habit she hated and her sister knew she did.

"Suit yourself but if I were you I'd do things my way", her sister said and shifted her gaze to the window meaning she wasn't saying anything again.
