5 You mean that I’m stuck here?

The world around Lin Feng dissolved around him as those words left his lips. The dark corridor that tortured him the day prior replaced it as Lin Feng found himself in the dim environment once more.

Lin Feng summoned his spear as he walked past the [Start the Tutorial?] hologram. However, he stopped just as the hologram disappeared.

The first thing he had to do was find out how far he would need to move before the traps would spring. While there was a chance that the Tutorial would reset every time he returned, it was better for him to have a source of reference rather than just blindly go in guns ablazing.

Next, he wanted to be able to estimate where the arrows would spring first. Previously, it had targeted his shoulder, then his head, then his gut. Lin Feng would have to figure out whether the arrows targeted specific parts of his body or if it was just randomly shooting in a direction.

Several beeps suddenly sounded in his ears, no doubt for the intelligence stat at this moment.

Lin Feng took a deep breath. He had decided that he would first begin with the assumption that the arrows targeted specific parts of the body. Hence, he moved forward slowly, his reflexes completely ready to turn his body to the side at any time.

Obviously, Lin Feng didn't forget to count his steps to know how far he would need to travel for the trap to be sprung.

Lin Feng had tried to use Observe multiple times, but it didn't show him any useful information other than the obvious.

After Lin Feng had taken around thirty steps, a click resounded through the silent corridor before the sound of a spring did.

Knowing what was going on, Lin Feng instantly spun his body sideways putting his spear to guard his sideways facing body just in case.

As expected, an arrow instantly whizzed past where Lin Feng's shoulder should have been. Realising this, Lin Feng made to duc–

An arrow found itself buried in Lin Feng's head, killing him instantly.

Lin Feng gasped loudly as his vision came back at this moment. He expected to be greeted with his room, but to his surprise, he was still in the dimly lit corridor?

Wasn't he supposed to leave after he died once?

A more serious expression appearing on Lin Feng's face, he uttered, "Leave Tutorial." However, a hologram popped up in front of him that crushed his hopes.

[Cannot leave until the Tutorial is completed.]

What? Then what about the first time?! He had left then? Was it just a one-time thing for his first time?

[Intelligence has increased to Rank 11 Spirit Master]

Fuck…

A sigh left Lin Feng's lips at this moment. It seems that he would really need to complete this Tutorial to go back.

The problem was that Lin Feng didn't know how long this Tutorial stretched on to. If the beginning of it was already so hard, wouldn't the next parts be a complete disaster?

Maybe he had really jumped the gun when he entered this place.

In spite of thinking that, Lin Feng decided to just go complete the Tutorial. Regardless of his feelings now, it was too late to regret it. It would be better if he used that time on attempting to complete the Tutorial.

– – – –

After around thirty or so tries, Lin Feng finally managed to survive the first three arrows that had caused his death on his first run. It was painfully difficult being constantly struck by arrows, but a sense of accomplishment filled his heart as he heard several beeps informing him of the increase in his agility along with this.

[Agility has increased to Rank 9 Spirit Scholar]

He could continue with the next part now. The problem was on how he would continue with his thigh half-destroyed.

How did it get there? Lin Feng had dropped to the ground to dodge the second arrow, making the third one fire.

On reflex, he had pushed his vitals out of the way, allowing the arrow to strike his thigh instant.

It had allowed him to survive, but the force of the arrow nearly blew his entire leg off his body.

And obviously it hurt like hell.

"AAARRRRGGGHHH!!!"

Lin Feng was screaming the hell out of his lungs at the moment. In his previous attempts, he had been lucky enough to have been instantly killed.

Nonetheless, he was now in a state that could be considered worse than death.

He gritted his teeth hard, causing it to crack slightly. Blood flowed out of his gums as a result from how hard he was gritting his teeth.

His vision slightly foggy at the moment, he briefly pondered just letting himself bleed out. He would just revive anyways right?

However, he threw those thoughts away. Thoughts like those were extremely dangerous. If he treated life like a game where he had unlimited retries, then he would be screwing himself over outside of the Tutorial.

Hence, with his willpower, he tried his best to ignore the pain as he slowly crawled back to the initial spawn where the [Healing Area] was.

Sounds notifying of his progression in [Strength], [Endurance], [Will] and [Concentration] power where ignored as he wholeheartedly attempted to crawl back through the sheer virtue of adrenaline and the meagre spiritual energy coursing through his meridians.

Unfortunately, his best wasn't good enough as he ran out of steam around ten steps away from the [Healing Area].

Lin Feng took quick short breaths as he desperately tried to keep consciousness. Looking at his mutilated limb, adrenaline rushed through his head as he realised that he had to remove that arrow if he wanted any semblance of success.

Not only that, Lin Feng didn't know what would happen if he went into the [Healing Area] with that arrow in his thigh. Would it just heal with the arrow still there, or would it push the arrow out?

Lin Feng didn't know, and he wasn't willing to try it out.

Making a decision, Lin Feng shakily moved his pale hands to the arrow as he tried his best to get a good grip.

Taking one deep breath, Lin Feng pulled his hardest.

The arrow wrenched free in his hands, Lin Feng's mouth opened as he let out a soundless shriek. His voice was already too hoarse from the screaming and grunts previously to let out any more sound.

The pain was overwhelmingly horrifying. Not even being struck by that arrow was more painful than having to personally pull out the arrow with his already feeble body.

Cold sweat poured down his face as he blinked hard. Was this pain really something a normal person could resist? Lin Feng was so in pain that he couldn't even think to use spiritual energy to relieve it.

It was this moment that another beep resounded. While this would usually have been ignored by Lin Feng as a result of how much in pain he was, this ability was different.

[You have learned Pain Resistance Lv. 1

Description: Grants resistance to pain. Note that it does not dull pain, merely allows to withstand it better]

Several more notifications came out, signalling the level up of the skill, as Lin Feng slowly regained control over his thoughts.

As soon as he did, Lin Feng chose to circulate spiritual energy to his leg. It didn't help the wound since the meridians of the thigh had been destroyed, but it did dull the pain somewhat.

Having received his second chance, Lin Feng made full use of it as he crawled each inch of the way back to the [Healing Area].

After crawling for what felt like an eternity, Lin Feng suddenly felt incredible pure life energy pouring into every inch of his body as all the pain faded away.

He took a deep breath as he sprawled his body out on the floor. Glancing downwards, he found that his leg had already completely recovered.

Even his throat that had screamed till it was hoarse had recovered at this time. The [Healing Area] was truly a miracle!

"Hallelujah!" Lin Feng couldn't help but exclaim out.

He had never been so glad to be alive.
