A/N: Second Chapter today. It's not much, but it's honest work.

As Lin Feng entered class, he instantly felt a gaze on him.

Turning to the source of the gaze, Lin Feng was met with Hu Liena staring at him with a strange curiosity.

Sitting next to Yan who was trying his best to impress her, Lin Feng could see hints of awkwardness in her expression.

Nonetheless, he didn't give a crap. He didn't feel the least amount of guilt of his rejection towards her nor did he feel the need to be a white knight at all.

One, she was a little girl, and he wasn't like Xiao Yan from BTTH who groomed Xiao Xun'er to be his wife.

And two, his life was more important than pretending to be a hero rescuing a beauty. He didn't wanna get involved with Yan anytime soon thank you very much.

Lin Feng was pretty sure he could beat Yan if he used his spirit ring, but the consequences after were not ones that he wanted to face anytime soon.

"Dude, what's going on?" Lin Feng instantly recognised that voice as Xie Yue's. The man— boy himself sat down next to him before he placed his arm around Lin Feng's shoulder.

"Hmm? What do you mean?"

"Y'know…" His eyes moved a few times towards Hu Liena's direction. "She's been glaring at you like you're a sweet, succulent, piece of—"

Lin Feng put a hand up to Xie Yue. "It's time to stop. You're eight years old and you shouldn't be thinking of things like these."

"What? I was only going to say lamb chop! She loves lamb chops…" Xie Yue said with confusion on his face. However, that look of confusion quickly shifted into a cheeky smile. "Oh boy, you're thinking of those things, aren't you? You naughty, naughty boy."

Lin Feng looked away with a faint blush on his face. "No, I was thinking the same thing. Don't blaspheme my innocence with your filthy jargon."

"Oh ho? Then why did you say that we're only eight?"

"Why not? Well, in any case, I guess that your sister really likes eating mutton since she has a fox martial spirit." Lin Feng just replied cooly.

"Oh yeah, that's probably one— Wait a minute. Don't change the subject, Lin Feng."

Drats. Well, at least he tried.

It was at this moment that a voice suddenly cut in. "Ok class! Quiet down. Class is starting."

The teacher was a blond man with rippling large muscles. However, looking at his legs, they were pretty small in comparison to the rest of his upper body.

Looks like someone skipped leg day.

And it didn't turn out well at all.

At the teacher—Teng Zun's command, everyone began to quiet down. When the class had entirely calmed down, a faint smirk appeared on his face as he placed his hands behind his back.

"Okay, class. First of all, I would like to congratulate student Hu Liena on her successful breakthrough to Rank 20 at the age of eight. Everyone, please give her a round of applause!"

With his beckoning, the entire class turned towards the blushing Hu Liena. Whispers began resounding in the classroom before they started giving her an ovation.

"Holy shit!"

"How the hell did she do that?"

"With the rate she's going at, she might become a Spirit King before the age of twenty!"

Amongst all of the sucking up done by the class, the one that Lin Feng felt that sucked up the most was definitely Yan.

He was literally spouting poetry on how great Hu Liena was in front of her.

Glancing at Xie Yue though, he could see the tell-tale signs of his pride for his sister. It was understandable though. Xie Yue was very caring for his sister and didn't like the fact that Yan was going after her at all.

In fact, if Xie Yue could beat Yan, that guy would probably be a bunch of ribbons now.

If you were curious as to why the entire class was so excited at Hu Liena's achievements, it was simple really.

To reach the Spirit Grandmaster stage at the age of 8 was akin to a child of similar age going to college.

That was actually pretty damn insane if you thought about it. It really places the talent of the original Shrek Academy students into perspective.

In hindsight though, Shrek Academy's entry requirements were stupidly high for the actual state of things in the academy.

Flander was just a professional at scamming young children into his academy. Thinking that it was extremely prestigious due to its motto, the personnel there and its high entry requirements, impressionable young children would definitely fall into that trap.

"Now, I understand your excitement class, but please quiet down. I have more to say before we truly start class for the day."

"The academy has organised a field trip for our class to go to the Star Dou Forest next month."

— — — —

Laying on his bedroom, Lin Feng wasn't able to be happy despite having grinded quite a few stats for the day.

The Cloud Step Escaping Technique was one that taxed his body extremely. It wasn't something that was useful to normal Spirit Masters by any means due to this ridiculous drawback, but it made for a perfect grinding tool for Lin Feng.

But I digress.

Star Dou Forest.

It was an extremely dangerous place filled with dangerous spirit beasts. From ten-year-old spirit beasts all the way to an eight-hundred-thousand year old black dragon, the Star Dou Forest had it all.

In all honesty, Lin Feng wasn't planning on going near the Star Dou Forest anytime soon.

He wanted to just cultivate smoothly until he reached Rank 20, then go to a safer forest to hunt for his spirit ring there with some protection.

Then, he would continue this until he reached Rank 40. Only then would he enter his Tutorial.

Doing anything else was tantamount to suicide due to the sheer difficulty of it.

If one were to ask why couldn't he go to Star Dou Forest to grind for the counter, then the answer was rather simple.

The counter only worked for inside the Tutorial. Outside didn't count unless it explicitly said so.

This wasn't something he made up just to be lazy. It literally popped up right after closing the notification.

Lin Feng let out a sigh. "My system's mission system is just so damn broken. Why did it ask me to do all that shit when I'm still a noob. It's like purposely giving the later parts just to kill me."

"But I won't be tricked. I'll never die!"

Shit, did he accidentally trigger a flag?

Crap…

Luckily, he had kept his neutral luck pretty low right? If he got assraped by the world, at least his low luck stat would provide a bit of help to him.

Oh well. The only thing he could rely on now was to hope for the best for his future. Other than playing it safe and training diligently, he didn't know what else he could do for now.

As Lin Feng slowly drifted off into dreamland, he subconsciously relaxed himself.

Unfortunately, it was because of that very action that he didn't notice as a notification suddenly popped up in front of him.
