1 CHAPTER 1: PALACE

After three years serving as the Assistant Superintendent of Police in Hyderabad, Akhil(20.10.1990) and his teammate Sakthivel decides to get a transfer to Kotagiri, their hometown in Tamil Nadu. Hence, Akhil informs this to his love interest, Nisha, an investigative journalist in Mettupalayam. She is eager to meet Akhil, after three long years.

Akhil has a fear to stay during the period of Nights and is extremely scared of it. He is also suffering from schizophrenia, a disorder that came because of the nightmare that stepped deeply into his mind. Because of this disorder, Akhil often used to see the reflection of his family and parents, whom he assumes to be appearing in-front of him because of the disorder.

Since Akhil is an orphan, he is grown with Sakthi, another orphan and Akhil often lands in trouble due to his disease and even in the IPS duties. This time, his senior police officer has sent Akhil in-order to cure his psychological disorder which, he secretly tells to Sakthivel.

Sakthi hides the fact of Akhil's Schizophrenia from Ishika and in-deed Ishika fell for Akhil upon seeing his honesty and good-nature. Akhil is taken to a family friend of Sakthi in Salem before going to Kotagiri, where the doctor realizes Akhil's disorder and he decides to give him counseling and happiness for three months in the hospitals.

In these three months, Akhil is changed and doesn't get any reflections of his family or other peoples. However, he is unable to get boldness during the nights.

Sakthi meets the doctor and the doctor tells Sakthi, "Sakthi. Akhil is now normal. We have cured his disorder. But, be careful. He is sensitive to nights. Take care of him"

"Thank you, Uncle. You have made me a big help" said Sakthi and he takes Akhil with him to Kotagiri, where Nisha also joins Akhil and Sakthi on their Journey.

On reaching Kotagiri, Akhil finds a beautiful bungalow named Yazhini residency in its entrance near Catherine Waterfalls, and he asks Sakthi and Nisha to stay in this bungalow.

"Nisha. I think, what Akhil says is right. Shall we stay in this bungalow?" asked Sakthi.

"No Sakthi. This bungalow is haunted. Many people have ran away from this place and were affected psychologically. Let us find other places" said Nisha.

"Who will believe ghosts in these centuries, Nisha? Are you joking?" asked Akhil.

"Ok. As you both wish, let's stay in this bungalow" said Nisha agreeing to the point of Akhil and Sakthi.

As Nisha, Akhil and Sakthi place their leg in the entrance of the bungalow, the dry leaves in the roads start to fly off, and suddenly, rains start to pour down in the bungalow heavily. After that, the trio enters the bungalow and refreshes themselves.

Later, Sakthi has a bath and has a dinner after which, he decides to go for his room to sleep. However, suddenly the lights starts to turn off in Sakthi's walk-path and Sakthi calls, "Akhil, Nisha…", "Anyone is there!", he starts to sweat off.

At this time, partial light points at Sakthi, where a ghost threatens him by laughing and smiling at him. Sakthi gets frightened and runs away from the place after which he reaches Akhil's room, where Akhil is having alcohol.

"Akhil…Akhil…" Sakthi calls Akhil and eventually he, reaches his room.

"Hey! What Sakthi? Why are you frightened?" asked Akhil.

"Hey. I saw a ghost da…I think what Nisha told is right. Let's escape from this place, Akhil. It seems dangerous" said Sakthi.

Hearing Sakthi's words, Akhil starts to laugh uncontrollably and Sakthi looks at him in anger.

"I think you have also become scared to nights like me. It's all just may be some errors in the power, Sakthi. For forgetting these, you must first have a drink" said Akhil.

"How did you get these Alcohols?" asked Sakthi.

"This has already been in this room, Sakthi" said Akhil.

They both have a full of alcoholic drinks, and Nisha enters into Akhil's room. Seeing Akhil's drunken state, she becomes furious and goes to her rooms. However, Akhil follows her and in the process, also consoles her mind. Since, Akhil goes into dehydration, Akhil ends up stripping Nisha's sari and they both has sex. After waking up, Nisha is shocked to see her with Akhil and she slaps him for spoiling her life.

"Nisha. Why are you slapping me? You only came to my house and you only seduced me. Now, you are itself slapping me" said Akhil.

Hearing this, Nisha is shocked and says Akhil, "Akhil. Have I entered your room? I doesn't remember Akhil. I am sorry!"

Akhil is shocked at the incident and he decides to investigate the bungalow with Sakthi and find out whether the bungalow is haunted or surrounded by any mysterious persons. While going on into the bungalow, Akhil and Sakthi finds out the book named, "The periods of 1890 and 1915's."

Going back to 1890's, Kotagiri is occupied by the British residential people and the Tamil and Malayali people who ruled the then Ooty district(Under Madras Presidency) were overtook by the British people under the Peace treaty act after the Battle of Plassey and other wars that were fought in India.

After the British arrived, many Indian workers were tortured by them and they were made to work in Tea plantations and also to cook foods for the British people. As years goes on, the atrocious activities of British increases day-by-day and some peoples under the head of Rajarathnam, the forefather of Akhil and a scientist in London, started to rage voice against British officials as a result of which, they were imprisoned in the same bungalow for three years starting from 1903.

Later, after learning about the arrival of Subash Chandra Bose to Kothagiri, Rajarathnam decides to meet him and they somehow manage to escape with their team and joins with Subash Chandra Bose's Indian Army.

Some years later, India gets independence from the British officials in 1947 and Rajarathnam further explains the aftermath of the incidents in the diary. After the independence, Rajarathnam is told to work as the scientist for ISRO laboratory where, he meets so many other peoples like Abdul Kalam and other aspiring scientists.

Rajarathnam produced a weapon that is, equal to the USA Army weapons, which may be used during the periods of wars for India in 1967. He names the weapon as "MahaSakthi-247" in remembrance of Lord Shiva's wife Sakthi since, Rajarathnam performed a lots of prayers to Shiva and he dedicated this name to the lord for his gun. Due to a heart attack, Rajarathnam however, passed away in 1970.

But, before dying Rajarathnam called his youngest son, Ramarajan(12.10.1968), Akhil's father and asks him to safeguard his invention in the bungalow and also gives him the key. Since, Ramarajan himself, was busy in producing an explosive for Indian Army, he agrees to the consent of Rajarathnam and locks it safely in his room.

Akhil, Nisha and Sakthi stops reading here as aftermath of Ramarajan's period is not there and he decides to search the book. However, a diary flies and lands into the place which explains the life of Ramarajan.

Shortly after the death of Rajarathnam, Ramarajan produced explosives for Indian Army and he was ready to give his weapons and books (which contains the formula and notable details) to the Indian Government in 15.08.1996. However, a political leader named, R.Rathnavel, wants this weapons for his self-purpose and asked Ramarajan to give his weapons to him, bribing millions of money to him. However, Ramarajan doesn't wish to give the explosives to the corrupt people.

In-order to get the guns and explosives, the politician tortures his parents and families and at that time also, his parents were strong and stubborn. As a result, Ramarajan's entire family were killed and the political leader frames that, they were killed by ghosts and they also changes the bungalow's decorations to look-like British residencies.

However, the politician's henchman realized that Rajarathnam's infant son, Akhil is missing and they searches him all over the place. But, Akhil escapes from the bungalow and after running to an orphanage, he is hit in a tree and faints down where a young orphan boy Sakthi comes and saves him.

The incidents marked deeply in the minds of Akhil and after reading into these lines, Sakthi and Akhil are in tears and they both hugs each other. Later, Akhil's grandfather and father, appears behind him as ghosts and tells that, "The people whom they had killed in this bungalow are only bad and corrupt. They haven't killed anyone who is good at heart and they just makes them to run away from this bungalow. When Rajarathnam saw his grandson, he rained the bungalow and invited him into his house."

Akhil's family blesses him and Nisha to live happily forever and also tells the location of the weapons to Akhil and hands him the key to him. After getting the key, Akhil takes the manual book and weapons after which, Akhil makes the weapon to be used to Indian Army and he is hailed as a National Hero.

Akhil is asked by a media journalist, "Sir. Will India become a superpower by 2030's with this MahaSakthi-247?"

"No. Until, all people get an equal opportunity at every place and at every occasion, India will remain weaker among other nations like USA and UK." Said Akhil.

Later, Sakthi meets Akhil and asks him, "Akhil. Will your forefathers and family leave our bungalow?"

Akhil replies, "Until their mission completes, they will never seize from the bungalow"

"What do you mean, Akhil?" asked Sakthi and Nisha.

"My grandfather has two conditions to get vanished from the bungalow: i). He will vanish only when the country is rid from corruption and ill-activities. ii). He will go to heaven, once India becomes a superpower" said Akhil.

Now, a group of spoilt-brat students enters into the bungalow of Rajarathnam with a girl, whom they had planned to molest and while entering into the bungalow, the dry leaves flies off and a heavy sunlight comes into the bungalow. After that those spoilt-brat students finds themselves locked in the bungalow.

Suddenly, the bungalow dims off and after some times, a partial light comes and the ghosts of Akhil's families kills those spoilt-brats and saves the girl victim and the rains starts to pour down in the bungalow implying that, "Until the people are good and disciplined, the soul of Rajarathnam's family will punish even when, it happens to be their own heir." 

Five years later, Akhil and Nisha are living happily and they have a daughter named, Akira. Nisha now also asks Akhil, "Akhil. You think would your forefathers may gone out from the bungalow?"

"No Nisha…They will never go from the bungalow even after India is a superpower" said Akhil.

"Why Akhil? What's the reason in it?" asked Nisha.

"Like the political leader, who killed my family, there are some people who became spoilt-brats in our country. Hence, they will continue killing such people" said Akhil.

"Has the politician been killed by your family?" asked Nisha.

"Very few years before, he had been killed in the bungalow after a very few years when they turned into ghosts" said Sakthi, who was hearing their conversation.

"What is our next plan, Akhil?" asked Sakthi and Nisha.

"Journey" said Akhil.

"What?" asked Nisha.

"Yes. Journey to Kothagiri. With our daughter Akira" said Akhil.

"I understand Akhil. You are taking Akira to the bungalow so that, she may gain the blessings of your forefathers. Am I right?" asked Nisha.

"Yes Nisha" said Akhil.

After that, Akhil, Sakthi and Nisha with Akira's accompany starts their car and begins to drive for their journey towards Kothagiri. While going towards Mettupalayam, Akhil sees Bhavani River, which is flowing very steeply because of the rains and he smiles at the fast-paced flow of Bhavani River.

After a three-hour long journey, Akhil reaches to Kothagiri with Akira, where their forefathers invite them warmly by pouring the rainwaters into the bungalow and showing them a way for the entrance and Sakthi with the duo, eagerly enters into the house...
