It has been 7 months since Charles came to the school.Naturally,he had made many friends,and of course some fans too.He is really talented in basketball,and immediently become he school's golden basketball player thanks for his outstanding skills and his amazing height.He get along with others quickly,even teachers hade a liken on him.Some said that he's an angel sent by god.He's perfect,in conclusion.Even though he had a lot of friends he tends to hangout with Ryuu,Yua and Misaki.They started to call each other by first names.He clicked well with Ryuu's ball of energy.

It was a lunch break at the moment. Misaki, Ryuu, and Yukine looked at Charles, Charles looked at his table, which is full of Chocolates and candies, and love notes. Then looked at them."What?"He put both of his hand on his nape."Ah, this?"He pointed to the items on the table."Well-"He giggled nervously."I kinda get tooooo popular In this school?"He takes the chocolates and give to them"Here have some, I won't finish it anyway"

Ryuu refused the offer. His face was red in anger."It's only 7 months since you get here!"But he took the chocolate anyway in the end."That's not fair! I WANT TO BECOME POPULAR LIKE YOU TOO"He said as he's munching the chocolate. There are bits of chocolate that came out from his mouth."Why am I not popular like you? I mean, I am popular, but not like-"He pointed towards the mountains of Chocolate on the table and grab another one to eat."This!!"He muffled.

"Because he's good looking, "Yua said shyly."And I'm not saying that you're not, but Charles's level of handsome is different than you"She eats one strawberry flavored candy.The taste sinks in her tongue.Sweet."We don't see a Japanese-American every day,so it's normal that many people crushing on him"

Charles laughed in embarrassment.He then turns his attention to Misaki,which is eating a mint-flavored chocolate silently while watching them three."What do you think about my looks,Misaki?"

Misaki looked up at Charles.All the attention is now on her.Misaki stared at him."hmm.."She hummed,eating the chocolate slowly."You're O.K"

"PFFT HAH-"Ryuu laughed hardly while holding his belly.Then he went doing funny weird faces while sticking out his tongue."Just O.K"He said it again and again."BweeKkk"

Yukine smiled and looked at Ryuu with his childish manners.She's sure that Charles is matured enough to ignore him.She looked at Charles,

"no, I'm not!!"He replied while taking one more chocolate and eats it angrily.

Charles laughed proudly"HAHA PEASANT! BOW TO YOUR KING"He puts a hand on his chest and puts his nose high up.

Yualooked at both of them in amusement.Then she looked at Misaki which, haven't finished yet her chocolate.She didn't seem really enjoying the Chocolate."Misaki,are you okay?"She asked,worried.

Misaki's face tightens,and she turns to Yua."I forgot that I hate eating chocolate"She puts the half-eaten chocolate on the table.

Yua frowned "Then why do you eat it?"

"I'm hungry"

Yua slapped her forehead.Then she looked at them three.I have such weird friends.Then she chuckled."Looks like I'm weird too"She chirped while as she eats Misaki's half-eaten chocolate.Yum.

The bell rings and Suzuki sensei came into the class.Her high heels knocked the floor making a hard,knock sound.She looked at the class.Most of them hurriedly went back to their seats,including Yua and Misaki, except Charles and Ryuu.They're still arguing who's the most handsome.While eating chocolate.Angrily.

Suzuki sensei sighed and pushed down his round spectacles."Ishida-san and Arata-san, would you mind to stop that nonsense and have a sit?"She puts her books on the table."Or I'll take all the Chocolate."She said sternly.

"Hai ,sensei" they both answered and rushed to their seat.

Ryuu walked back home with Yua,like always since they're neighbors.Ryuu waved at Yukine as he arrived at his house and Yukine waved back,and goes on to her house.Her house is only three houses apart from his house.

"Tadaima~," Ryuu said tiredly.All the talking and screaming at the school have worn him out.He looked for his mom.

"ah, you're home?Here come eat!!"Her mom screamed from the kitchen."I made your favorite dish!!"She screamed again.

"Yeah yeah,after this!!"He half screamed while yawned.He went upstairs,walked slowly to his bedroom.He had a bright blue bedroom because he liked the color of the sky.He threw himself to the bed and dozed off.He's so tired arguing with Charles today.Then he groaned."I'm still more handsome than him though."He told himself."That brat-"

Suddenly his phone buzzed a few times.He reached for his phone in his pocket.4 Messages from Charles.He grunted and opened the group chat angrily.He pushed his hair back.His hair gets long pretty fast.

Charles:GUYS!

Ryuu smiled annoyedly.This guy can't be real.

Ryuu:Whaddaya want,red-headed idiot?

Yua:Please don't spam, Charles.

Charles: Let's go to this cat cafe you told me before!!

Charles:You said you wanna bring me there but you never did,Ryuu T_T

Charles:Oh my broken heart...

Yua:We did invite you to go,but you always said you're busy,you had to go anywhere else blah blah blah,being the popular kid is hard blah blah...

Ryuu: baka baka

Charles:Shut up you peasant.

Charles:I want to!!But I'm soo busy with the basketball training and such,but now,,,,IM FREE!!!

Charles:LETS GO!

Yua:Okay, okay chill,so when are we going?

Charles:Idk you decide

Ryuu:Well it depends on you,you red headed idiot,you're the one who's always busy being the Im so popular kid.

Misaki:What are you guys talking about

Charles: Let's go here Misaki!!!

Ryuu:Nope, I'm not going.I'm too lazy to go anywhere right now.

Yua: I'll go,many people tell that the place has very cute cats and good food :3

Misaki:If there's cats, I'll go.

Ryuu grunted,put his handphone away, then he reached down under his bed and took out a box.The box is full with papers and some study books,but then he reached for a book,a medium sized blue book which is located down under the pile of other books.He carefully opened the book,and then flicked until He's really tired."No work for today" he sighed a relief.

His mom knocked and opened the door,to be welcomed with her son, on the bed, drooling. She smiled.

Ryuu waited at the chikatetsu station, nervously while staring at the digital watch hanging on the wall. He snapped, looking very annoyed and displeased with the situation he's having now."Where are Charles???" He groaned, then muffled his hair. His silky black coal hair became a little bit messy but he let them be. He walked in circles, while Yua and Misaki patiently sat on the bench provided at the station.

"It's been an hour!" Ryuu went on, then grunted, he reached for his phone, and furiously dialing Charles number, only to be replied with a voice mail."GAH!"He rasped."Let's just go home, shall we? I can use this precious time of mine to have a good sleep!"He complained, but with a slight smile on his face" adios, humans!'

Yua grabbed his hand, her soft skin touches his harsh hand."Don't you think it's kinda rude to just leave like that?"She smiled at him, pulling him back, offering an empty seat beside her.

"I suppose making people wait for you for an hour is a gracious act for you??"He said sarcastically, while he huffed as he sat beside Yua." Where is he, seriously?"He groaned and then opened the group chat.He spammed Charles

Yua took a peek at Ryuu's phone before he locked his phone and noticed that he used a picture where he hugged his little sister, Meiko on her 12th birthday as his screen lock picture. It's a cute snapshot where Meiko still had that adorable bob cut hair. Now her hair is about shoulder length."Is that Meiko?"She asked Ryuu, trying to distract Ryuu's anger.

"Yeah, cute isn't she?" He replied, the tenses in his face relaxes. He had a huge brotherly love towards his now 14 years old little sister since his father left them when he was 12 and Meiko was 9 at the time, so growing up without a father figure affected her life a little.

Yua then showed it to Misaki, who's busy playing candy crush on her phone. Her head is covered with a pastel-colored headphone which she always had it on when she outgoing anywhere because she hates conversations. Yua poke her arm faintly to attract her attention. Misaki paused her game and looked at Yua, who's showing her the picture of Meiko and Ryuu together "Aren't they cute?"

Misaki just nodded barely and continued playing the game.

Yua sighed and gave the phone back to Ryuu."I've always wanted a brother or sister though.."She mumbled.

"Nah, you wouldn't want to" He roared."They're a pain in the ass to live with"He continued."Once Meiko-"

"GUYSSSSSSSS" A voice screamed from a distance behind them and it's becoming louder.

They all turned their back to see who's voice it's belong.

Charles.

He ran towards them, his face was red and sweaty. He wore a dark green crew neck sweater with light brown cargo pants, and off white sneakers. He also had a black sling bag that he put over his body.

"Gomen!!!" He told them as he finally arrived in front of them, bowed a perfect 90-degree bow to them to show his sincerity."I'm not that late am I?"He straightens up and smiled.

"Not that late my ass" Ryuu groaned and scowled at him.

"WELL, IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT I'M SOO TIRED BECAUSE OF BASKETBALL PRACTICE THE DAY BEFORE" He answered. His face becomes redder than before, then he pants, catching his breath."At least appreciate me for trying!'He glared back at Ryuu.

Then they started fighting, arguing with each other, which is normal for them to be like that. They went on for minutes and Yua could only ignore them and watched Misaki playing candy crush. She's at level 80 right now, and what's amazing is she started playing this just a week back.

"Ah" Misaki stopped playing and looked at the digital clock on the wall, an announcement was made. The train to Hokkaido will arrive in a minute. The announcement was said in Japanese, then in English, which it came from a woman, with a thick Japanese tone.

Ryuu and Charles stopped arguing, both of them are now cheering, feeling happy that the train will come in a minute. Them, being both an athlete has given them an amazing height and strong physical image, however, they're still a child in heart.

After a few minutes of walking from the train station, they finally arrived in front of the cat cafe. The cat cafe is a small, cute two-story building, which is decorated with flowers and small bonsai trees everywhere. There are some people, most of them are teenagers, hanging out there. There are some chilling while doing their work, and some of them are chatting happily with their friends. The first floor is the cafe, while the second floor is where the customers can meet all the 12 cute cats that came in different breeds.

Charles's eyes shine in happiness as he pushed the cafe's door, the cold air from the cafe splashed to his face. He turned to Yua, Misaki, and Ryuu."This is so cute!!!!!!" His face expressed pure enjoyment.

"Told you," Ryuu said while grinning at him as he walked into the cafe. They have already been here a few times so they aren't mesmerized like Charles does.

"Let's order ourselves some drink eh?"Yua said, but Misaki already ordered herself a latte. Here, you'll get a free drink for each ticket you purchased that allows you to spend time with the cats for 30 minutes. The ticket fee is 500 yen each. The customers can choose from different types of coffee, like mocha, frappuccino, and plain black coffee.

Charles straight-up ordered himself a mocha. He likes drinking mocha as the coffee flavor isn't that strong, and there's a hint of chocolatey taste in it. Yua ordered a cappuccino while Ryuu still deciding what to order. He always had a problem with choosing especially when he need to choose quickly." Uhh-"He mumbled. The middle-aged cashier looked at him patiently.

He stared at the menu for a few seconds.

Latte?Cappucino?Robusta?Doppio?Cortado?Flat white?Cafē au lait? His mind is three seconds away from exploding. Then his eyes catch one drink.

"Can I have hot chocolate, please?" He said politely to the cashier.

Upon hearing that, Charles bursts into laughter. Then pointed at Ryuu."What are you? A toddler?"He continued laughing."Aww baby yu yu wants some gu gu ga ga"He continued mocking him again.

"STOP IT!!"He glared. Then whack Charles's arm. The cashier stared at the two while holding the resit." It would be 2000 yen, in total" She said politely.

Yua sighed and break the two of them off, and held her hand out, a gesture to ask for money to pay, and then Misaki gave her money, each paying 500 yen. Then she gave it to the cashier."I'm so sorry they're so loud and acting like a child.."She apologizes.

The cashier gave a small chuckle."Oh, don't be, actually I love them being here you know? What's your name boy?"She recalled Ryuu's name."Ryota, isn't it?"She gave a motherly smile."You always came here before with that lovely girl of yours"She pointed at Yua.

Yua gave a slight blush but before she had said anything, the cashier cut her off."And who is this new lad?"She said at Charles.

Charles gave a slight bow to the cashier."Ito Charles, but you can call me Charles."He gave her his sweet heart-melting smile of his to the cashier.

"What a fine man are you eh?"The cashier giggled. Then shoo them four off."Eh, go go now, go meet the fluffy kittens." She laughed. They bowed again to the cashier and before they go, the cashier said to Ryuu."Yoko will be happy to see you, Ryota-san!"She said. Yoko is the fat, tabby female cat, who had a soft spot at Ryuu.

"Yokooooo," Ryota said as he zoomed upstairs, followed by Misaki, who's already put her headphone down. Even though her face didn't show any emotions, but you can tell that she's excited too.

They decided to play truth or dare. They spin the empty water bottle around. And it landed on Misaki. Misaki stared at the bottle and then looked at them, "well, ask me?"She said as she stroke the cat's golden brown fur that had found a comfy spot to sleep on her lap. The cat's fur reminded her of Tatsuo's golden retriever.

Yua looked at Charles, then to Ryuu, which both of them still figuring what to ask Misaki. Then she clapped her had for attention." Well if there's nobody wants to ask her, I have a question for her!"She smiled and then sipped her hot cappuccino."Do you have any crushes? Or someone you like?"She smiled gleefully at her. Then poke her arm playfully.

"no," She said easily.

"Oh come on, must be there someone that catches your eye" Ryuu continued. Joining Yua poking her arms."...like me??"He said suggestively.

"Or me?" Charles joined in, smiling sheepishly.

"No" She answered blankly."I'm not interested in love. That's for idiots who want to waste their time doing idiotic things with idiot people" She continued."So, no"

"Not fun!!" Ryuu told her.Then spinned the bottle again.

The bottle pointed to Ryuu.

Ryuu groaned. He slapped his forehead in indignation."Not meeee!!"

Charles clapped and slammed his hand on the table too hard that it startled the cats. The orange cat that is on Yua's lap glared at him angrily."TRUTH!!!"He smiled maliciously."There's something that I really wanna know before,"

"Ugh, fine"He stared hard at Charles."What is it that you want to know so bad about me?"

Charles then points to Yua."What do you think about Yua?"He smiled sheepishly. Then rests his head on his other hand."do you like her?"He wiggled his eyebrows knowingly.

Yua's faces were red like a tomato. But she didn't say anything, and she didn't dare to look at Ryuu's face. She pets the orange cat nervously. Why must Charles ask this kind of question?

Why, why, why why???

She breathes in, and breath out. Why do I even feel like this? It's not like I like him. I should be relaxed. Yes, I'm totally relaxed! I am the definition of relaxation!

She told herself as she breathe in and breath out, trying hard not to look like she's embarrassed about this.

Ryuu stared at Yua long enough that it almost made Yua wants to puke. She felt really dizzy at the moment.

I don't like him. I don't like him. Who cares if he doesn't like me?

She told herself again and again.

"She's pretty and sweet, she's perfect to me, "Ryuu turned his head, facing Charles.

She holds her breath and looked at Ryuu. She was taken aback, not knowing how to react to his sudden praises. She blushed harder.

Charles smiled at them both"Then you guys should date, right Misaki?" He turns to Misaki, Misaki nodded, agreeing to what he said earlier."You guys are so cute together!"Charles continued.

"..but I don't like her though."Ryuu continued."She's just..too perfect to me," He smiled to Yua."Plus, she's got many people crushing on her, there's no way I could win against them all" He laughed.

Yua finally let her breath out after he told that to her. She smiled back towards him.

Of course, he doesn't have any feelings towards her.

She didn't like him too.

She started slightly at Ryuu while they moved on to the game.

Ryuu spun the pen again and it pointed towards Charles. Charles excitedly answered dare before Ryuu even opened his mouth to ask. He dared Charles to buy beer at the convenience store after this and Charles take the dare willingly. Ryuu laughed then glanced at Misaki who's busy petting the cat.

Of course.

She thought again as she looked at Ryuu without him noticing.

They continued playing the dare,which had made Charles getting a dare to buy a beer from a convenient store.

"You bought a lot of souvenirs, Misaki"Yua told to her as she stared at Misaki who is putting all the cat-themed keychains into a green basket. Misaki nodded.

After strolling around Hokkaido, they decided to stop at a small souvenir shop. There are some foreigners and also people around their age in there, buying things and some of them only looking around, window shopping.

"I found this cute" She answered. She always says that when she saw a thing that she fancy. She counted the keychain that she picked before. There are 6 in total. She nodded and brings it to the cashier and pay for it.

"Hokkaido is quite a nice place, eh?"Ryuu said to himself as he bought a mini bluebell keychain as a souvenir. He was at another aisle, not far away from the cashier so he can see where Yukine and Misaki is at.

He shakes the mini keychain around. The keychain gives a small cute jingle as he shakes it."I'm going to give this to Meiko as a gift.."He murmured. they fought a lot. He's planning to give this keychain as a present to her sister to say sorry to her because last week he accidentally tore one of the pages of her favorite manga. She never spoke to him ever since. He looked at the small keychain and he knew he needs to buy more valuable things to cheer her up. He then walked around the shop to find something valuable, something more expensive. He even hoped that the shop sell the manga here.

As he walked around, he noticed Yua and Misaki is already walking out of the shop. Yua noticed him, and she pointed to the exit door, telling Ryuu that they will wait for him there. Ryuu nodded and continue searching. He needs to search one fast as Misaki and Yua are already waiting for him.

He didn't find anything that attracts him. He's really bad at giving gifts. He groaned slightly and ends up buying another mini bell keychain, but a pink one. girls always like pink. He thought. Then he saw Charles, taking a tinned beer from the refrigerator. He looked really nervous but excited at the same time.

Ryuu walked towards him and puts his arm around Charles's neck."Doing the dare??"

Charles nodded."But how am I going to buy this???"He fidgets his fingers."I need an ID card to show that I'm old enough to buy this..and I'm clearly not old enough to drink beer."He looked around. Then whispered to Ryuu."Do you have a plan?"

Ryuu stared blankly at him."Let's just go straight up, pay it, and run"

Charles stared back at him, sighed."That's the dumbest idea I ever heard from you, but ok."

They walked to the cashier together, Charles let Ryuu pays for his item first and then Ryuu walked away after paying it to the cashier.

Now it's my turn to pay, Charles said to himself.

He shows the beer to the cashier. The cashier smiled at him and pressed the machine thingy in front of him. Charles tried so hard to look casual like he had done this a bazillion times before. Not so far from there, Ryuu secretly stared at Charles from behind, obviously he's nervous too.

"I need your ID card, si-"The cashier said but was cut as Charles puts yen on the table.

"It's enough, right?"Charles said and bowed slightly."Arigatou~"He smiled and tried to walk away from there as far as he can.

But the cashier stopped him."Sir, I need your-"

Charles and Ryuu ran away from the store and pulled Misaki and Yua with them. They were running as far as they can, even though there's no one who was after them. They just looked dumb doing that.

After a few minutes, they stopped at a park, and pants heavily.

"Why are we running?!"Yua said as she pants. She crouched as she puts both of her hands on his knees."Baka..."She murmured.

Charles also pants too, but then he high fived Ryuu."HAHA!"He shouted as he holds up the beer.

Misaki stared at them. Ah, the dare.

"You did buy it? That's why we're running like total morons???"Yua groaned.

Charles and Ryuu ignored her and stared at the beer."Let's see how does beer tastes like..."Charles said as he opened the tin. It gave a soft shirr as the gas came out from the beer. Charles smiled and drink the beer in one big gulp.

Then he spitted it out.

"Eugh!!"He pulls his tongue out in disgrace.

He clearly doesn't like the taste."This tastes really bad!"He grunted. And then he acted like he was going to puke.

Ryuu laughed at him.

Yua shooked her head at them.Idiots.She smiled. She glanced at Misaki, who is attaching one of the keychains that she bought on her sling bag. Yua then turns her attention to her watch. It's already 5.00 pm, it's going to be dark soon."Guys, let's go home," She said to them as she pulls out her phone and smiled at each of them.

"But before that...selfie?"

"SELFIE!!"Ryuu roared as he wraps his arm around Yua's neck.

Yua was surprised at his unexpected action, that she gave a subtle gasp. But she quickly get back go her nerves and opened her camera. Misaki stands beside her rigidly, looking at the camera, Charles stood behind them three, slightly crouching while making a peace sign with both hands." Cheese!!"He roared.

A click sound cam from the camera. Yua looked at the picture. The sunset light shines on their faces, making their faces brightly orange-yellow. They all looked perfect. Even Misaki looked lovely with her arrogant I don't care look. Her brown eyes shine in the camera. She really does look good. She had her own type of beauty.

"Man I'm so handsome in here!" Ryuu snatched the phone off from Yua's hand. Yua gasped a little, surprised with his action. Then Charles yanked back the phone from Ryuu's hand."You brat" He murmured under his breath, then gave it back to Yua. Then he pointed to himself in the picture."This is what you call handsome" He ran a hand over his red marron hair. Yua just giggled looking at them, acting foolishly like they don't have any problems in their lives.

"I'll share this picture in our group chat," She said as she put her phone back in her pocket."It's a nice day, today, isn't it?"Yua smiled, looking at the sunset.

Misaki nodded slightly, agreeing to what she had said, she quickly took out her own phone and took a picture of the sunset. She looked at her watch."We should get going," She said as a matter of fact.

"Let's go!!!" Ryuu puts his hands around Misaki, pulling her with him while he walks past Yua and Charles cheerfully. Ryuu always does that because it annoys Misaki and Ryuu loves to annoy her. Ryuu looked back at Yua and Charles, which is still standing"What are you waiting for?? Come on!!"

Charles groaned and walked along behind Ryuu, but Yua stands still. Charles looked at her, shaking his head, making a gesture,'come on'.

But she stays there, looking at Ryuu talking joyfully to Misaki even though she ignored him.

She could feel her heart break.
