4 CHAPTER 4

The trio was now sitting on the cafeteria tables at university for a quick coffee before their seminar started and for some reason, Cora could feel the pit of her stomach tighten more as the time nears. But Cora had a bigger problem than Wyatt. Cora's eye squinted when she saw Kai smirking at her as she packed her bag and was getting ready to leave

"Hey, are you okay?" Mia looked at her concerned

"I am fine," Cora nodded her head "Come on or we'll be late,"

"Let me just finish this," Matt said shoving the bagel in his mouth

Cora couldn't give a fuck about being late but Kai was making his way here and she would rather bear Wyatt talking on the stage than bear Kai anywhere near her. They were making their way to the auditorium for the said seminar. When they got in the hall, flashing cameras were on them from all sides which were meant for Wyatt but they still took the pictures of the students. After fighting their way through the crowd of reporters, not literally obviously, they got front row seats despite Cora's protests. There were still two seats left in the middle and it didn't cross anyone's mind on who would sit here

Once the seats were all filled with students the brightness of the hall had increased and reporters have gathered around in one area of the entrance. Cora didn't need to think twice on who had made their presence known as she rolled her eyes when she saw the girls swooning over him and whispering among themselves. Cora saw Wyatt who was in a dark blue elegant and expensive-looking suit, making his way through the crowd and followed the professors to the front row seats. Cora held her breath as she concluded where Wyatt was going to sit and right beside her on the left Mia kept on poking her shoulder. Cora kicked from under the seats with her feet before her body went rigid when her eyes met Wyatt's and for a second they didn't break eye contact.

Wyatt let out a heavy sigh as he unbuttoned his coat to sit properly and Cora didn't dare to turn her head in Wyatt's direction. While listening to the headmaster Cora could feel Wyatt's eyes on her from time to time and she tried her best not to do anything wrong or stupid

"I am going to go blind," Cora whispered to Mia rubbing her eyes

"Someone tell them to keep the flashing to a minimum," Mia agreed "Or I am gonna break every single camera here,"

What they didn't know was that Wyatt had unintentionally listened to them complaining about the constant flashing cameras but he couldn't help but agree with Cora, sometimes he too gets pissed off by them. His name and applause is what got Wyatt away from his thoughts and made his way on to the stage, thanking the headmaster as he stood before the podium and the auditorium once again fell silent

"Good Morning," Wyatt greeted everyone "First I would like to thank the University for giving me an opportunity to working with you. It's good to be back and I see a few familiar faces,"

Wyatt's eyes glanced at Cora and the others for a second before continuing on

"I had asked your head to give me names of the best students in the Faculty of Design Technology," Wyatt explained "You will be working under my company as many of you know that I am opening a business here. And I need a skilled team and if you're good enough, you might even get a permanent job at the company,"

A student brought a sort of envelope to Wyatt who thanked her and then opened it to read the names

"As your names are called please stand up and come on the stage together," One of the professors instructed

"Lucy Carson, Kai Saetang, Mia Jefferson, Sean Malcolm, Walter Jackson, Park Lee, C-," Wyatt stammered as he saw Cora's name "And Cora Walliams,"

Hesitantly Cora stood up with Mia beside him while Matt clapped for them happily and they followed the other students on the stage. On their way, they shook hands with the congratulating headmaster and then Wyatt personally addressed them. Though when Cora's turn came, both stood perfectly still but under the piercing eyes of the media, he couldn't act this way, so Wyatt brought his hand forward to her. Cora looked at his hands and then his eyes sceptically, shaking a little because of Kai's eyes piercing at her, she brought her hands and grasped Wyatt's hand. The familiar touch bought an unexpected feeling in Cora as Wyatt masked his surprised expression. Wyatt and Cora pulled their hands back after a minute, Wyatt cleared his throat and turned to Mia who was looking at him weirdly but still gave a slight smile and the two shook hands

"Congratulations to all of you again," Wyatt smiled, getting Cora's thoughts out of his head "I have full faith that we would work amazingly together,"

"Thank you!"

"Thank you!"

The students replied and with the presence of the headmaster and the media, Cora had to push out a thank you along with Mia. The other students were told to go by their day and soon only the reporters were left in the big hall which were also being taken out of the hall by the university security. Except for Cora's friends and Wyatt's friends were waiting for them plus Wyatt had signaled them to stop.

As Wyatt was distracted by the professors, Cora took her time to observe him. He hadn't changed at all in his looks, of course, he had gotten much bolder in his looks but he had the same manners and respect for everyone. But there was something changed about him, Cora couldn't keep her hands on what it actually was but she knew there was something

"Hey!" Mia nudged her lightly whispering "Why are you staring at him?"

"I am not staring. Whose staring?" Cora shrugged and Mia rolled his eyes

"Why is Kai staring at you then?" Mia questioned as Cora followed her eyes and indeed she was right

"I don't know," Cora answered shifting uncomfortably in his place "Ignore him,"

Cora's eyes met Kai's and all she wanted to do was to slap the smirk off of his face. Before she could think of more ways to kill him the headmaster started speaking. Cora and Mia went back to join the others but little did they know that Wyatt had the same intentions

"All of you should be in meeting room 4 by 13:30 to discuss further what you're going to with Mr Logan," he instructed "Until then, Mr Logan would you please follow me?"

"Yes of course," Wyatt said kindly "Just give me a second,"

The headmaster nodded as he saw that Wyatt was making his way to a group of students. Matt was first to approach the older man as they shook hands followed by Travis who went all out pulling the man into a bro hug

"What a surprise," Matt greeted

"He is a big deal nowadays," Travis joked

"Something like that," Wyatt chuckled "I see you all are still sticking together,"

He motioned to Cora and the others.

"Yeah," Matt shrugged "We were lucky to get here together,"

"That's good," Wyatt smiled "Friends are important,"

Wyatt nodded not sure what more to talk about since they hadn't seen each other for so long. Soon enough it had turned to awkward silence between everyone though all Cora could focus on right now was Kai's deathly gaze which was following her every move. He hadn't left with the other students and was still there near the entrance

"Well, I should get going. It was nice seeing all of you again," Wyatt then turned to Mia and Cora "I am looking forward to seeing you both,"

"See you then," Mia replied

"I will see you at lunch," Travis put a hand on Wyatt's shoulder who nodded in return

He gave a light smile to the group before following the headmaster out of the hall with his guards trailing behind them

"I am dead!" Cora groaned as he dragged her feet away from the auditorium

"Drama queen," Travis mumbled

"What did you say?" Mia dared her boyfriend to go further

"Nothing beautiful," Travis said nervously

Though Wyatt should be listening to the headmaster who was giving him a tour of the university, he just couldn't forget the recent events. Wyatt couldn't explain how shocked he was that he picked a university at random and that just happened to be Cora's. He was not gonna lie, the whole time with Cora, his heart was beating so fast especially when they were sitting so close. They hadn't been this close in years and when they shook hands, Wyatt could've sworn that Cora's hand was shaking. But this has never happened before when they were together, Cora was acting differently. She was not her usual, confident and outspoken self. It was like something was troubling her

'But I could be wrong' Wyatt thought to himself 'Time changes and people change with it'
