1 CHAPTER 1

"Matt, I swear someday I am gonna kill you," Cora's voice rang out through her apartment

"You already make my life a living hell," Matt sighed as he entered the living room "What more can you do?"

But before Matt could get a straight answer, the backside of his head sting lightly as he rubbed it and glared her

"How many times do I have to tell you to throw the garbage away?" Cora questioned while pointing towards the kitchen

"Seriously Cora!" Matt threw his hands up in frustration "Throwing the garbage? Cora, why don't you go and lie down or something? I know what today is, just go and busy yourself in something,"

"I am fine," Cora said bluntly while she wrestled with a poor cushion that was stuck under the couch

"I can see that," Matt face palmed himself and pulled Cora away from the couch "Just go out,"

"Why?" Cora was half-beat

"Because since the morning you look like your gonna kill someone in these four walls," Matt answered "Get a breath of fresh air. It will help you take your mind off of today,"

Cora looked around the room she had kinda trashed unconsciously and just shook her head as she let her body drop on the couch. She felt another weight on the couch and should tell Matt was sitting beside her when he drew small circles on her back. She let out a huge sigh she didn't realise she was holding and then suddenly jumped up, startling Matt in the process. She hurried over to the kitchen counter, grabbing her wallet and snatching her jacket off of the coat hanger and was getting ready to go out

"How about I get some groceries?" Cora suggested "The fridge looks empty,"

"See that's what I am talking about," Matt exclaimed and Cora was making her way out "Don't kill anyone!"

"If it's anyone I will kill," Cora spitted out with piercing eyes once she was out of earshot from Matt "it's going to be Kai,"

Let's just say that today marks the third year of Cora's huge break up and she hasn't been taking it well, she really thought she and Wyatt were meant to be so for her nothing was going right since their breakup. Things weren't perfect before but now it's just like the universe wasn't on her side anymore. In Cora's head, she could remember it vividly like it was just yesterday. Her and Wyatt enjoying the beautiful rainy season on the balcony with a cup of tea in their hands. She still remembers that haunting phone call which changed her life again but this time for the worse. She remembered how she and Wyatt were screaming at each other and since Matt lived in the apartment beside them, he could hear everything and came rushing in helping his two friends. She still remembers the clueless and lost expression on Wyatt's face when she wanted to break up and how he kept on asking what he did wrong? When they broke up, both were in such rage and anger that they didn't care what the other was doing or where the other was going. But one act of emotion that remained common that night was the number of tears that were shed by the duo, and the multiple questions going in their heads and the guilt running in their veins.

Days had passed after their break up and Cora had noticed that Wyatt wasn't in all his classes in fact he hadn't come to university at all. Slowly, days turned to weeks, weeks to months but Wyatt was still a no show. Upon a simple conversation with Wyatt's squad one of his best friends, Travis had let it slip that he moved out of the country and was now in London, running his father's company. It wasn't that hard to believe since they next day Wyatt Logan was all over the news. Cora had many questions but she knew that she had no more rights to ask his whereabouts and his choices. After all, she is the one who broke up with him. Slowly but painfully, Cora let the memories of her relationship with Wyatt go.

But the nightmares that haunted her from the past returned from time to time and she wakes up either with tears streaming down her face and sweating or screaming. Sadly she was worse than before, she couldn't go into very large crowds and she was always very cautious if she was somewhere alone especially with a man. Matt and Mia were very helpful to her the entire time but they could only do so much. She knew that she had to forget about Wyatt but it was harder considering Wyatt had apparently gotten pretty famous in the business industry with his company's performance which was over the charts and every other day he would be on a new billboard, these days all the news was about him.

"Wyatt Logan!" His name rang out from the journalists "Mr Logan!"

Wyatt was coming back after attending a banquet with his friend and the news had travelled as only the famous were invited. Wyatt's bodyguards were around him keeping a safe distance between their boss and the reporters.

"Mr Logan," A reporter gained his attention "They are saying that you're opening your new chain of business in America, your home country. Is that true?"

"Yes, it is true," Wyatt said with his hands in his pocket "I had a very positive response in the UK but I would like to expand more as well,"

"When will you be leaving for New York Sir?" They asked

"That is confidential I am afraid," Wyatt tried to remain calm

"Mr Logan, you always hold seminars when you're abroad so please confirm which university have you chosen to hold your next seminar?" A female reporter asked

"Of course," Wyatt replied "I have chosen Columbia University, in New York,"

"Mr Logan there were some rumours about your past relationship," Another reporter blasted the question "Is it true-?"

Wyatt got an instant flashback of Cora's face in his mind and his features turned stone-cold once again. He moved a little closer to that particular reporter breaking him off

"I would not be answering any more questions," Wyatt said hiding his emotions "Especially on this matter. Thank you,"

The reporters tried to get closer to the man but his bodyguards stood their guard and waited for their boss to get into his car before they got into their's and drove off. Wyatt had his head in his hands, rubbing his forehead in frustration. He didn't know if he was angry, frustrated or just simply tired because he has been in meetings the whole day distracting himself from everything. He of course hadn't forgotten what today was but he had contained himself better than Cora had. After they had broken up Wyatt had moved to the UK, he finished his studies all while creating and managing his father's business. And a year back he got his first million dollar deal transaction. And on from there, he had grown so much that his company was at the top in the UK and overseas, so looking at the success he decided it was good to have one in his hometown.

It was not that the break up hadn't affected Wyatt at all, in fact, he was in pieces. He couldn't think properly because he was so confused about what went wrong between them. The only people he interacted with during that time was Travis and his little sister Olivia and they helped him in every way possible. All he really wanted to do was forget about Cora and at the time he was willing to do anything, so he took his father's offer of taking over their family business and so he became the next CEO. Olivia and Travis tried their best to talk him into staying but Wyatt was as stubborn as his other half, so they just let it go and decided to support Wyatt in whatever he wants since all they could do was advice him

Wyatt's believe in love and kindness towards some people were long gone now. He had promised himself that he would no longer love anyone since whenever he opened his heart to someone they always either took advantage of it or hurt him pretty badly. He sometimes finds himself starring into space thinking about that one night, the last time he had seen Cora. Thinking about Cora just gets him a little infuriating sometimes and he remembers the whole night in his head again. But then he reminds himself that love is nothing and that he should move on since Cora was definitely not waiting around for him

But what he doesn't know is that the other is breaking more than him
