1 Chapter 1 - Just The Beginning:

Hannah pulled up her car and entered the coffee shop. Her freinds were already present, waiting for her arrival.

"Wow! On time?" Sophie teased. Sophie Hensler was rather an average student in studies but was famous in high school for all the extra curricular activities. Todays world? You'd rather call her a 'Tomboy'.

Hannah winked "Oh, call it a miracle." As the two girls started to get into a conversation, "Two cappuccinos" a voice emerged from behind them, "One mocha, two garlic breads and a cheese sandwich" A beautiful-blonde girl, in a formal top and a cute-attractive skirt, took a seat between the two girls. "Brooke!! U always know what I want" Hannah exclaimed as she picked up her order. Brooke Mendoza wasnt like the other too. She was a fashionista. The only one out of the three who you could call a 'GIRL'. She was very attractive in her own ways yet insecure. The charm between the best friends. Sophie, Brooke and Hannah were known for their friendship. Different in their own ways they were unstoppable and famous sleuths in River Heights. After gossiping over coffee, Sophie bent forward and whispered, "After we're done, all at my place for some 'Group Study.'" The girls gave eachother other a rather wicked smile. It was time , after long , to practice some detective skills.

'Group Study' was actually a code word for the girls' confidential meetings. A bit too much, but the cases they got were nothing but simple. It had been almost a year since the sleuths got their last case - 'A guy cheating on his girlfriend'. Cmon what kind of cases do high schoolers get in their classes? But this one was not just the same. It included...."Veronica" Sophie leaned back. Hannah and Brooke stopped fidgeting and sat up straight with their eyes and ears wide open. "What about her?" Hannah asked.

"She wants to meet us. She said she would come whenever and wherever we said."

"Bro! Entire story in detail, from the top"

"She stopped by my locker after bio....

Veronica: Um! Sophie! Can you and your detective friends meet me. Like I wanna talk something about Fiona. Fiona Fox?

Sophie: We are not going to solve any fights of yours with her!!

Veronica: No funny business. Plus she is my best friend. There is something suspicious about her. I thought I'd discuss it with you n your gang. So meet me whenever - wherever. Ill tell you everything when I meet you. Okay?!

Sophie: Uh! Wait! Wh...?!

".....but she just sashayed away." Sophie completed. "Im all sweaty now" Brooke dabbed her forhead with her handkerchief, "thinking about that girl gives me the chills"

"I really didnt know when the rivals became best friends" Hannah said with a confused look. "Me neither" Sophie replied. She stood up and started walking around the room. There was silence for a while. All 3 girls were in deep thought.

1 year ago a famous Italian doctor had recently shifted to River Heights. His daughter  joined the River Heights University the most expensive and experienced high school in all of the city. She was the only girl who was in competition with Veronica 'The mean wicked witch of all times'. The two girls always wanted to be the center of attention. Fiona and Veronica always created a ruckus wherever they went.

"Alright" Brooke broke the silence with a sigh, "Anytime but today. Im supposed to babysit Paige tonight. My parents are gonna be out, so I guess tomorrow would be perfect for me."  "Me too! I promised mom n dad that I would have dinner with them" Hannah said checking the time on her wristwatch, "And I guess Im running late. I'll get going." She stood up and tightened her ponytail.

Sophie glanced at her phone and asked "So for what time should I text Veronica?"

"One-thirty is fine with me" Hannah said looking at her friends as to ask if they were comfortable with her judgement. "Sure" the other 2 replied. "Should I drive you home?" Hannah asked Brooke.

"I'll get a cab, ur running late right?"

"No, its ok. Your house comes in my way anyway! Cmon!"

"We'll get going! Bye Soph!!"

Ding Dong! Sophie opened the door. There she was 'Veronica' which a phoney smile plastered across her face, a tight top and little skirt, she wore heels in which you would have toppled over in a step, it was glittering and as disgusting to Sophie. "Have a seat, the other girls are waiting" Sophie said rolling her eyes at the ugly unicorn at her doorstep. Veronica rudely moved her out of the way and walked into the lounge. For a minute she stood behind the sofa and closely observed Hannah and Brooke. Then she came forward and stood infront of the TV the girls were enjoying "Helloo Ladies!!!" she announced placing her sparkly purse - which I'd say could hold nothing - on the tea table.

"Do you mind?" Hannah said rather frustrated, pointing the remote to the tv which she had covered. Veronica stood there with her hands on her hips as she snarled at Hannah with eyes of a dragon. She was not the type of person who could control anger, but she wanted profit in them. Ofcourse she wouldn't have gone all 'Veronica' at the time!

"Do you have any excuse for being forty minutes late?" Brooke said looking her in the eye. Seeing how 'Brooke' had stood up for her friend, Veronica understood they were not the gang to mess with. "I had an emergency!" She said throwing back some hair over her shoulder. "May I kno what?" Hannah shot her look of disgust. "Thats none of your business" she made herself comfortable on the side sofa. She leaned back still with the same attitude.

"Im sorry! We cant take your case" Sophie said as she entered with some snacks and jumped into the sofa between Hannah and Brooke, "First we never get along...." before she could complete, Hannah cut it, "Second, you have to learn to be on time. We're not going to be sitting around here waiting for you all day." The girls were furious as they glared at Veronica over the TV sound. Veronica on the other hand let out a sigh. She smirked at them and banged her palms on the wooden tea table. "You're getting your money I'm getting my respect" she pulled out a fat bundle of cash from her useless purse and threw it across the table.

Sophie switched off the tv and started counting the cash, "Shoot!" she smiled at her friends.

"Excuse me?!"

"Speak women. Spill it!!"

Secrets to be uncovered! What was so important that Veronica had to come to the sleuths? Stay tuned to know.....
