1 Chapter 001 : Death & Goddess

After finishing my part-time job, I was heading towards my apartment as usual. Recently I have been wondering, "Is there any meaning in the life that I'm living?"

My name is Aizen Sato, I am your every-day university student with a slight difference, that is, unlike other university students I have no time to enjoy my youth. I am an orphan who is studying under a student loan and moreover I also have to earn for my daily expenses and rent of the apartment. Everyday I have the same routine - Wake up, go to classes, then go to your part-time job and then home. At this point in life the only thing I can enjoy is anime, manga and novels, so you can say that I am an otaku. If you are wondering that I have friends or not then the answer is obviously no. Nobody will befriend a guy who is basically like a machine on a fixed routine and never participates in any recreation or any other social gatherings.

Today also I was going back to my apartment after my shift was over but then I saw a kid around ten to twelve years old is crossing the road but what the kid didn't notice was that a truck was going to hit him. I didn't thought anything as my body reacted reflexively and I dashed towards the kid and pushed him away. I was successful in pushing him out of the truck's way but the same couldn't be said for me.

At my last moments I thought, 'Damn! To think I will die by truck-kun how cliche'. After that my mind went blank and I died.

After an unknown amount of time I opened my eyes. My head felt extremely heavy but for some reason I couldn't feel my body which made me flabbergasted.

'Did the accident made my body paralyzed', I thought.

While having such thoughts I examined the place I was in and to be honest it didn't helped my situation but on the contrary it made it worse. What I saw was that I was in a bright whit room which had neither doors nor windows.

'Maybe this is afterlife' was the thought that came to my mind.

Suddenly a blinding golden light flashed which caused me to close my eyes. When I opened my eyes I saw a beautiful woman with blonde hair and a flawless white dress stood before my eyes and for some reason she had a bright smile on her face.

We stared at each other for some time. To break this awkward silence I spoke out,

"Hello ma'am"

"Hello", she replied while having the same smile plastered on her face.

"Can you please tell me where am I right now?", I asked.

"You are at the nexus between death and rebirth", she answered.

"Then I am really dead", I said in a gloomy tone, while I had figured it out quite a while ago but still the confirmation of your own death can never be taken with a peaceful mind.

While coming with terms with my death I asked her a question again," By the way who are you?"

While I asked this question the smile on her face widened, perhaps she was waiting for me to ask this.

" I am one of the goddesses of reincarnation", she claimed.

"And I am here to reincarnate you to a world of your choosing with some wishes and your memory intact", she added.

I was taken aback for a while because what was happening in front of me was a typical reincarnation troupe. Digesting the fact that I have a chance to reincarnate in a world of my choosing I threw another question at the goddess,

"I understand what you are saying but why me?"

"Because I am bored", the goddess replied bluntly.

"Huh ??"

"I was doing my boring duties as always but then I noticed that a soul had deviated from its designated path and so I came here quickly to give you a chance to reincarnate in another world rather than your own. It will be worthwhile to see the expression of the goddess who was responsible for you when she discovers her blunder"

Though the reason was not the most rational one but I was not going to reject such a rare opportunity of reincarnating.

"Now speak young soul which world do you want to reincarnate into?", she asked.

"Can I choose a world from anime?", I replied with another question.

"Yes", she answered.

"In case of reincarnating in a world of anime, manga or such you can further choose the timeline and place of your birth", she explained like some salesman explaining the additional features of a new product.

The moment she finished speaking I knew which world to reincarnate into, being a former otaku I have dreamed many times of reincarnating in an anime world and I of course had in my mind in which world I want to reincarnate.

"I want to reincarnate in Naruto world", I answered in one breath.
