6 Mansion

Awoken by the noise outside his window and door, Lawrence forces himself up, only to find two maids beside his door. He jumps out of scare as he covers himself unknowingly. "Who are you both?!" he screams.

"I'm Elizabeth Heim. Your personal maid from today onwards."

"I'm Keira Proze. Your personal maid from today onwards."

"We express our gratitude to his excellency for accepting us!" they both exclaimed.

Lawrence sighs and rubs his head, 'This is probably a dream, right?' he thought to himself.

His thoughts were interrupted when the two doors opened, barging in, a chef with a dish trolley with him and some unfamiliar food. The food looked rather royal. Lawrence, unable to comprehend the situation stood, and went to his self-space and wore a robe, staring at himself in the mirror. He washed his face and went out.

As he leaves his self-space, his eyes widen as he spots the three people inside his room. Rubbing his eyes with his two hands, still in denial. Finally, after a moment of realization. He finds himself awake and understood that everything wasn't a hallucination. He jumps off by surprise and screams to the top of his lungs.

"Sir! Please!" the chef exclaimed, covering both his ears.

"What are you doing in my mansion!" Lawrence shouted.

The two maids giggled at Lawrence's reaction while the chef sighs, "We've been assigned to be here by the marquess, sir." he explains.

"What!" he shouted.

"Sir! Please! Stop shouting!" the chef begged.

"I'm sorry!" he answered, screaming.

Gavin came rushing into the room with his nervous and clumsy movement. "Your excellency! What has happened!?"

"Captain of the Chivalry Knight?!" the three screamed.

Face-palming at the situation, Lawrence calms himself. "I'm fine, Gavin. Please return to your post." he requested politely.

Gavin scratched his head, his face crumbling, "I'm sorry, Lawrence." he said before leaving the room.

Lawrence sighs, facing the three intently, "Elizabeth and Keira, from today onwards, before I awake, I want you both to stay behind my door. Chef, I will not eat in my bedroom, please prepare my food at the dining table. I will not ask for any assistance once I awake. That will be all." he said, massaging his head.

'To think he'd assign these guys immediately when I'm soundly asleep. What kind of father is he?!' he angrily thought. The three bowed before leaving and closing his doors.

Lawrence laid on his bed, stressing out. The surroundings sounded busy, as if everyone was moving. He jumps out of bed when he realizes how much his manor would look differently after doing their works. Hastening his movements and grooming himself, he went out with his well-mannered suit before opening his doors. His face was stressed as he goes down his stairs. Maids and workers started greeting him, and he started commanding them what to do.

"Please. Take all the weed that had grown all over the mansion. Clean the dust that are visible. Clean but maintain. I do not want the mansion to change in style. I want to maintain everything. Is that understood?" he stated to a maid who seemed to be the leader.

"Yes, sir," she said and started commanding the people.

Everything was moving too fast as if it was a market. Going from left to right and up to down. Ladders and people, everyone seemed to be occupied after greeting Lawrence. Busied by their tasks. Lawrence meets up with a lady who wore an elegant outfit and had a clipboard.

"Your excellency. I'm Countess Emilia Cynthia Ores, your personal assistant, and secretary," she said, bowing.

"Who assigned you?"

"His majesty, the emperor," she answered.

'His majesty?! Oh, wait. My father and the emperor has the same power. I forgot.' he thought, scratching his head.

"Do you have something to report?" Lawrence asked the lady who seemed anxious to talk to him.

"Yes, sir, your presence is requested to meet the visitors of your estate," she states, bowing.

Lawrence flinched at the sudden bow. He sighed at the lady, "You need not bow."

"Y-yes, your excellency," she said, unknowingly bowing. "I-i'm sorry, your excellency!" realizing her fault once again.

Lawrence laughed at the nervous reaction of Emilia, "Is this your first time?" he asked, stopping himself from his laugh.

"Y-yes, your excellency," she said, still stuttering.

"Relax. I'm only a three year old with an attitude." Lawrence laughed. 'Sometimes, people just forget my age.' he thought.

"Uhm. Sir. Happy Birthday." Emilia said.

"Oh! It is my birthday..." Lawrence confirmed in disbelief. Continuing his walk towards the roundabout, where the glorious fountain is. In the distance, Lawrence sees a carriage and two more from behind. Stopping at the pathway into the mansion.

The coachman went down off his place and opened the door. A man stepped out and handed his hand to a lady inside. Lawrence flinched at the sight of Evangeline Margaret and her kids behind her. 'How can this be?' he thought.

"Auntie. It's a pleasure to have your acquaintance." Lawrence bowed.

"I get it," she said, passing by Lawrence and into the mansion. "Who is Lillian?" she asked.

Lillian stood to meet Evangeline. "Madame," she greeted with a bow.

"At ease," Evangeline ordered. "Prepare the prime bedroom and the rooms for my children," she commanded.

"Understood, Madame."

'H-huh?' bamboozled by the situation, Lawrence stood confused.

"Mother, wait for us," Spence said, passing Lawrence.

"I believe the prime bedroom is already occupied, Evangeline." a man uttered.

"Arch Count?" Evangeline asked in her high pitch of disbelief.

"I will be occupying the Prime Bedroom, is there any problem-?"

Interrupted by a cough, Lewis stepped in. "I believe I have the right to take the Prime Bedroom?"

"Master Lewis." the arch count called out. "I have no complaints."

"Tch." Evangeline clicked her tongue before entering the mansion.

'Please, come in.' Lawrence sarcastically thought to himself after being ignored by the visitors. Lawrence sighs and continued his walk towards the garden, not bothering to entertain his visitors. 'I just need to take a deep fresh breath.' he thought to himself.

A twig sounded, and Lawrence immediately looked back to see his secretary and Lewis behind him. "Uhm... What?" speechless, Lawrence stopped, staring at the two of them with a wrinkled brow and confused eyes.

"We- uh- uhm- we followed you," Lewis explained.

"Emilia has an excuse for following me. What concerns me is why, why is the Captain of The Chivalry Order following me?" he asked, confused to whom he wants the question appointed.

"Uh. I- how are you?" Lewis immediately changing the topic.

"I'm fine. Please. Go back, at least give me some time to process this sudden 'invasion.'" Lawrence replied sarcastically.

"Yes, I understand," he said before leaving hesitantly.

Lawrence stares at Emilia. Emilia flinches by the intense stare, "I- uh- I will go now too, your excellency. If you'll excuse me." she said bowing, before rushing out of the area.
