Prologue

"Finally" said Daryn

Daryn was so happy when the plane took off. The one week vacation to Greenland had really taken a toll on him_ he didnt like Greenland. Although, his dad valued the idea of going to Greenland he said it gave them an opportunity to understand other cultures better.

His father has always had a thing for the histories. Being a teacher of the histories, it was his place to study them and their cultures. In Daryn's perspective, his dad more than just studied....he loved it and everyone had to go along besides; no harm in learning something new.

As soon as the plane was above ground, he took the opportunity to shut his eyes for a good journey sleep. Having his parents seating in front, he and his younger sister stayed back. But sleeping was going to become a problem. His barely sixteen year old sister was demanding of him to play a game of cards.

"Mae! I need to sleep"

"But whose gonna keep me company then?" She said

He took a cross look at her measuring his choice of answer.

He sighed.

He would be leaving her for college when they get back anyway.

"Alright, just one game"

She gave him a cheeky smile and placed the deck of cards in their middle.

''Sly'' Daryn said under his breath.

His sister Mellisa always got her way. Not only with him though, his parents too. They just couldn't say no. Being the little one in the house, she got all the attention and care from everyone. Daryn always had that protective big brother vibe around her, obviously scaring away admirers and potential boyfriends. She seemed comfortable though and enjoyed the attention she was given.

They had barely began the game when a notice came over the speaker telling everyone to fasten their seatbelts. On impulse Daryn pulled his sister in and attempted to fasten her seatbelt before his then the plane lurched. The sudden movement woke his already snoozing parents. Mellisa held onto her brother for support. Before they had even figured out what was happening, the lights flickered and still silence filled the entire plane as everyone waited for the inevitable. A brief weightlessness and then...gravity took over the plane began falling from the sky. His screaming sister clung tighter to him. Daryn could only hold onto his sister as he looked outside the window. Everything seemed to move in a blur as they plunged downwards towards the earth. In no less than 170 seconds, they where out of the sky and into the sea. He lost consciousness.

3 days later_"authorities confirm that the plane leaving Greenland has been discovered. Wreckage found several miles offshore. There still hasn't been comment on the cause of the crash and so far no known survivors. This is one of the most deadliest events in recent memories.
