47 Crashing the Granary

During the game designs, Dye had created mini instances in the food supply storage. In Vrenze City, there were a lot of granaries. If they entered one, there was a huge chance they might be able to find an instance. The purpose of a mini instance was not to give the players high level equipments, that would be the dungeon's job. An instance gave players rare materials while a mini instance gave the players supplies. However, they could only collect after they defeated the first wave of monsters. For even more supplies with higher quality, they needed to challenge another wave. An instance only had five waves and needed two days to refresh.

Though, it might never refresh in this Hyouka.

Before going to the Blacksmith, Dye noticed an open granary. They had encountered an instance (when they fought with Hono Kaen previously), and so, it shouldn't be quite hard. Vrenze City was a level 20 location and they were nearing level 20, with Ynoir being the fastest. He was halfway to level 19. Without [Passion], they would still be able to clear the mini instance.

"What are you thinking about Dye?" Ynoir asked the girl who was deep in thought. Sometimes, Dye was too...calculative for her own good.

"There is a granary near the blacksmith, there should be supplies wee can use throughout our travels there," Dye replied, "why don't we go there and look?"

Ynoir thought for a while, "That should be good."

Meanwhile, Jaglash was confused to everything. As a prince, he knew how important granaries were to the soldiers and most strategies included burning the granaries. As a prince, he knew how hard it was for the soldiers stationed at the border to request food from the capital and the farming districts. The granaries were never full. A granary could last soldiers a month or so. If the two took it for themselves, the granary could last them a full year, considering Dye's preserving technique (aka inventory).

They did not need to sneak around as it was still night and the night was still long. However, some of the soldiers were still awake. Instead of patrolling inside the storage area, they patrolled at the gates of the storage area. If there were some normal noises in the storage area, that meant some of the storage caretakers were still inside. The granary was located at the corner of the storage area near where Dye, Ynoir and Jaglash entered, which was quite far from the gates. Even if they leisurely walked around like in their own backyard, it would still be fine.

The granary was painted red with white rooftops, something like the usual barns on Earth. However, when Dye looked closer, the granary was made of a metal with Space and Time properties so the food could stay good longer and they could store more food. The disadvantages were, if anyone could quietly enter or exit the granary, whatever they did inside would be in a seperate space and thus no one would be able to notice a peculiarity.

The door was made of space transmission stones, which were only available in Gund Empire. Rising an eyebrow, Dye looked at the sheepish Jaglash beside her. The second prince only smiled meekly and said, "You know, this is part of a contract me and Hulio made..."

"I missed an important thing all this time," Dye rubbed the bridge of her nose, "you are not supposed to be seen betraying Hulio until everything is cleared." If Hulio's soldiers found out that Jaglash was sneaking around, the trust between them might snap and all her plans might go haywire. However, she wasn't thinking only of herself. If Hulio ever found out, he could do something toward Jaglash, who currently seemed powerless - or could really be powerless. After all, when she entered the public bath, there was no soldiers protecting Jaglash. As a prince, he should've had at least one or two good soldiers protecting every strand of his hair, which didn't quite happen here.

"After all, this, I will return and Hulio won't know a thing," Jaglash said, "anyways, what is important about the granary anyways?" He found it peculiar that Dye and Ynoir seemed caught up in the granary when they didn't seem to need the supplies so much. After all, Dye had a lot of gold as said before. If she had that much gold, it wouldn't be a problem for her to get the food right? Of course, instead of the disgusting ready-to-eat food, the food stored in the granary was just ingredients like grain or wheat. Dye could transform them to the heavenly food she cooked (or normal food on Earth).

"We will never know when we will need something, so I want to be prepared for everything," Dye said, "plus, we can increase our levels this way too."

Jaglash, although he was a harem collectible, he also had levels and he would be able to fight if necessary, but not right now when he was still quite low levelled. Even so, he understood the importance of levels, and finally stopped asking.
