19 Boss Room

The boss room was pitch dark at first, but as Bai Tian stepped inside, it mysteriously began to illuminate with the source of light nowhere to be found.

Bai Tian could hear the metal doors behind him slowly closing.

Once the boss room was illuminated enough for Bai Tian to see his surroundings, he found himself standing in a spacious circular room that had no openings, almost as though he was trapped at the end of a cave.

Though, unlike an ordinary cave, there was plenty of space above him.

When Bai Tian lifted his head to look up, he could see a large monster that resembled a spider standing on the ceiling, but it appeared to be asleep.

This Abyssal Spider was about 10 meters in length and height. Its body was pitch black and had a metallic gloss to it, almost as though it was wearing shiny armor.

Anyone could tell at glance that this monster boasted insanely high defense.

'Level 70, huh… This is going to be a tough one.' Even with his vast experience, Bai Tian was not confident that he could defeat this boss.

However, he was not afraid of dying here, and even if he wanted to walk away, the only way out of this place had already been sealed off.

Thus, the only way he was getting out of this place was to either defeat the monster before him or die to it.

Bai Tian did not immediately attack the Abyssal Spider. Instead, he walked around the room to see if there were any hidden mechanisms.

The Abyssal Spider remained still on the ceiling the whole time.

Once Bai Tian looked through the entire room without finding anything, he finally decided to confront the Abyssal Spider.

When the Abyssal Spider was hit, it immediately woke up from its slumber, and six crimson eyes opened to stare at Bai Tian with intense killing intent.

The Abyssal Spider released its grip from the ceiling and dropped to the ground, causing the entire arena to tremble violently.

Bai Tian expected the Abyssal Spider to have high defense, but to only deal a single damage really surprised him and widened his eyes.

While Bai Tian was shocked, the Abyssal Spider swung its legs again, this time sweeping them in front of it like a spear.

Bai Tian quickly snapped out of his surprise and leaped into the air, just enough to barely dodge it. He then distanced himself from the Abyssal Spider to gain some time to think of a plan.

However, the Abyssal Spider gave him no such time by immediately chasing after him. Not only was it fast for its large size, it quickly caught up to Bai Tian.

Seeing this, Bai Tian could only escape by using use White Ghost's Maneuver, hiding his presence.

In the Abyssal Spider's eyes, Bai Tian suddenly disappeared into thin air like a ghost, which baffled it.

Meanwhile, Bai Tian was hiding directly underneath the Abyssal Spider. Due to its large size, there was plenty of room from him down there.

He then used some time to ponder what he should do to defeat the spider.

'If ordinary attacks won't work, let's try hitting its weak spots.'

While most of the Abyssal Spider's body is like steel, there are gaps in its body that look vulnerable. Bai Tian decided to take advantage of this fact and slashed at it.

Bai Tian shook his head inwardly after seeing the damage. While he had the right idea, the Abyssal Spider's defense was simply too high for his low level. Most people don't dare to fight monsters 10 levels above their own, including the pay to win players, yet Bai Tian was fighting a monster 40 levels above his own, and it was even a boss-type monster.

'Looks like the only way I will defeat this monster is by using Qi Bullet or by hitting it for days.' He sighed inwardly.

In the end, Bai Tian decided to use almost all of his Qi to spam Qi Bullet on the Abyssal Spider.

At his current level, after putting 84 points into his Spirit, he has a little over 10,000 Qi, which will allow him to deal at least 10,000 damage to the Abyssal Spider. If he included his two Small Qi Potions that restores 1,000 Qi each, he would deal at least 12,000 damage.

Bai Tian expected the Abyssal Spider to have more than 12,000 HP, so he was expecting to hit the monster several hundred more times with his sword to finish it off.

While Bai Tian fired multiple Qi Bullets at the spider, he would hit different spots on its body trying to find its weak spots.

Unfortunately, it appears that he could only achieve a Precise Hit by hitting the gaps in its body with his sword, an area that Qi Bullet cannot reach.

After losing 5,000 HP, the Abyssal Spider suddenly stopped chasing after Bai Tian.

Bai Tian had an uneasy feeling about its change in behavior, and sure enough, the following moment, the Abyssal Spider spat out this concentrated black liquid at him, shooting through the air like it was released through a water hose.

Fortunately for Bai Tian, he was already prepared to move with White Ghost's Maneuver even before the spider attacked, which saved his life.

He only had 1,900 HP, so there was a good chance that he would die in a single hit by the spider.

When the black liquid missed Bai Tian and sprayed the wall behind him, the wall began melting like lava.

'Since it has a new attack pattern, its health must have reached a certain threshold.' Bai Tian thought to himself, as he was used to boss monsters having different attack patterns when their HP reaches a certain threshold in previous games, mostly when they only have 50% HP left.

Of course, some games have different thresholds, so he has no way to confirm at this moment and could only hope that it's at 50% HP.

Sometime later, after losing a total of 10,000 HP, the Abyssal Spider stopped moving again. This time, it released an ear-piercing cry before it started to tremble violently.

Bai Tian immediately distanced himself as far as possible and waited to see what it was going to do.
