17 A Rare Drop

<Sharp Talon was dropped by Soaring Skyblade>

<Wind Blade Spell Book was dropped by Soaring Skyblade>

After one short hour of grinding, Bai Tian obtained the drop he wanted.

[Wind Blade Spell Book]

[Grade: Uncommon]

[Description: A magic spell that creates a blade made entirely of wind, which appears as a transparent, shimmering blade of air, cutting through anything it touches. Deals 180% magic damage. Consumes 500 Mana per cast. Cooldown: 15 seconds.]

After picking up the Skill Book, Bai Tian immediately tried to use it to see what would happen.

<This Skill Book cannot be consumed due to having an unsuitable Class>

"Looks like I really cannot use magic in this game." Bai Tian sighed out loud.

As someone who really enjoyed casting magic spells in previous games, this was a massive blow to him. However, he did not lose hope.

"Even if I cannot cast magic spells myself, there should be magic treasures out there that can cast magic for me."

Now that he's acquired what he wanted from this area, Bai Tian made his way back to the Killer Rabbits to grind out the next rare drop.

"It took me 40 kills to receive a 0.01% drop rate. Let's see how long a 0.001% drop rate will take me."

Thus, Bai Tian started his long grind at the Killer Rabbits' hunting ground.

During his grind, Bai Tian noticed that he was basically alone in that area, and this made him wonder where the other players were training.

'There should be plenty of people above level 40 by now, so why aren't there anyone here besides me? Is it more efficient training on low level monsters since they are easier to kill?' He wondered inwardly.

Bai Tian's suspicion was correct. The current trend and most efficient method of gaining experience was hunting monsters about 5 levels below one's own level and doing it in a full party for the maximum amount of bonus experience.

Since most people can solo monsters 5 levels below their level, this meant that everyone in the party could spread out and fight their own monsters, significantly increasing the amount of experience they get.

Of course, they still had to be within 100 meters of each other. However, people found that as long as two players are within 100 meters of each other, the third player could be within 100 meters of either player, so if everyone spread out in a line formation and stayed within 100 meters of each other, they could expand their hunting area to over 500 meters.

As for those who would rather hunt monsters above their own levels, they would only do so if they prioritized higher grade materials to sell for more money, or they are players that spent real money to purchase powerful equipment that allowed them to hunt high level monsters with more ease.

If one is highly skilled like Bai Tian and decked out with powerful equipment, it would be more efficient to hunt high level monsters, but as for the majority of the players, they were better off hunting low level monsters.

Hours passed in the blink of an eye since Bai Tian started farming for the Lucky Rabbit's Foot, and after hunting for three days with barely any rest, only stopping to increase his stats after leveling up, he finally acquired the Lucky Rabbit's Foot.

<Quality Rabbit Fur was dropped by Killer Rabbit>

<Lucky Rabbit's Foot was dropped by Killer Rabbit>

<Congratulations! You have received a rare drop!>

[Lucky Rabbit's Foot]

[Grade: Special]

[Description: As long as you have this lucky charm inside your inventory, your Luck will significantly increase. This item cannot be traded or sold. If you destroy this item, you will be cursed with Misfortune for 7 days.]

[Misfortune: Greatly reduces your Luck]

Bai Tian raised an eyebrow after seeing the item's description.

"There's actually a penalty for destroying it…"

Since he had no idea how Luck was calculated in this game, he couldn't judge how useful or valuable this item was. However, since it did not require him to equip it to receive its effects, it could still be considered a very good item.

During the last three days of grinding, Bai Tian increased his level to 28, and he'd collected over a thousand Quality Rabbit Fur, which should definitely sell for a decent amount of gold coins.

Now that he's finished his grind, Bai Tian decided to go back to the city to sell his loot and purchase some supplies before he looked into dungeons.

However, as though fate had something else planned for him, just as he prepared to leave, a notification appeared before him.

<A dungeon has spawned nearby!>

<All experience and drop rate will be increased by 100% for 24 hours!>

"Interesting." Bai Tian immediately tossed the idea of returning to the city after seeing this notification.

He opened up the map to see a new icon located about three miles away from his location.

And without any hesitation, he started running towards that location.

Sometime later, Bai Tian arrived at his destination, and he could see a large hole in the ground that gave off an eerie atmosphere.

This pit-like hole was about two meters in diameter, and it was so deep that Bai Tian could only see darkness, almost as though it was infinitely deep.

Above the hole was a window with some information.

[Dungeon: Splitting Paths] [Level: 50+]

"Level fifty plus, huh? Sounds fun."

And without any hesitation, Bai Tian jumped into the ominous hole.
