9 Thunder Wolves

BAAAAANNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!

With a perfect bang sound resounding across the forest behind the lion, and a fountain of blood spouting from the top of it's head, Grim thought he would have to spend some more effort to kill this lion, but just one headshot was enough to end the beast.

He went over to the corpse to check for loot like he would in a game, but realized the body was slowly decomposing and decaying into what he could only refer to as crystal dust that flew into the sky, towards the sun that hung in the middle of the midday sky.

He stared at this phenomenon for a while in a daze, as he thought he really had ended up in a game somehow. He was pulled out of his silent reverie by the sound of growling from the forest in front of himself. He looked on as he furrowed his brows, and he saw eyes with glints of red show up in the darkness of the jungle.

[ Hero#001 has slain Beast#13 'Lightning Lion', becoming the first Heir to begin their Combat Phase. ]

' BURN ! SHOOT ! KILL ! REAP ! ' He heard a sound in his head as he read the interface in front of himself. The words kept ringing in his head to the point they made him kneel on the ground with his head clenched hard between his arms.

After who knows how long he finally stood up with a blank look on his face and his pupils fully dilated, with a tinge of reddish orange in them. Slowly his pupils returned to how they were before, in the original state. He looked around himself with uncertainty, confused about something but then looked at the gun, or perhaps the hand cannon in his hand slowly fading into embers.

Clarity returned to his eyes as he looked back into the forest the lion came out of with curiosity as well as a hint of fear. He wasn't sure, but looking at the dense shine of red from the forest made him uncomfortable and he instinctively backed off step by step, towards the plain he clearly saw behind himself.

' Never face your back to a beast, more so when you are uncertain whether it is really just a beast or a monster. '

He patiently took each step, clearly afraid of startling the beasts in that forest in front of himself when he made a mistake.

KrrAaK

The sound of the crunching of a branch under his foot made him panic slightly, which was why he quickly looked through his head to see what else he could do with that bracelet of his, because he clearly felt a sort of rejection when he tried to materialize another gun cannon.

He felt like he was wasting time, so he quickly moved his feet and turned around, to run away from the forest now behind himself.

He closed his eyes as he tried to run with all his strength and after a while when he felt like he should've gotten far enough away from the beasts he slightly turned his head to look back, only to witness the shocking scene of a wolf that seemed to be moving with lightning on it's trail. He quickly turned back to run faster, but his legs kept saying any faster and he'd lose them forever.

In front of him, an interface appeared , different from before with clear deep red as it's color. It wasn't the usual blank background, but colored deep red instead. the color itself told the story of death so he quickly read the words on it, while still moving his legs.

[ Thunder Wolf, Beast#16 of the 010 elemental series.

Uses lightning to enhance it's bodily features, specially when running.

It's roars carry the powers of thunder for a short distance, stunning most and killing weaker prey.

Danger : Level F+/C- ]

Information. It was information he needed to survive this place, and if he was going to get the information from somewhere anyways, he might as well get it from this weird interface in front of himself.

He glossed over the rest of the information, but what did catch it's eye was the danger that was written on the interface. It seemed to be a grading of the amount of danger it may cause it's potential enemies. If he only just figured out what that level of danger entailed, he would know whether to aggravate one of those or not in the future.

' Maybe it's weaker than the lion? ' The thought crossed his mind when he suddenly noticed it's numbering was higher than the lion by 3. As soon as this thought crossed his mind, he decided to test out his theory.

He made a sudden stop, causing his feet to leave little marks on the grass under them, and the wolf, no, wolves to pass him by and stop in front of himself after a short curve.

He swallowed his spit causing his Adam's apple to Bob up and down.

' 7 wolves. ' It didn't seem to be a full pack, but just a small hunting party. He had heard from his master that some wolf packs can become as large as 100 members.

He tried again to summon that gun he used to shoot the lion, but failed grandly and only ended up causing him to clench his fist over and over. He sighed when he saw one of the wolves run towards him in a speed neither to fast nor too slow, and got into a martial arts pose he had seen in a recent show and muttered ' Let's go down punching.'

As soon as the wolf crossed about half of the distance between them, it jumped up to pounce on him, at the same time as Grim threw a punch in its direction with closed eyes.

SSSssAaaaa

After the sound of something cutting through the air, and not getting bitten for about 3 seconds, he opened his eyes to find he had clearly missed the wolf that now lay beside him, cut almost in two and his fist which he had thrown, burn with a glorious flame.
