13 Not Alone

[ Champion#007 ... ]

[ Champion#007 ... ]

" Another notification." Grim muttered while constantly moving his legs as another notification about those champions who were who knows where popped in front of his eyes once more, before promptly vanishing.

This one was quite interesting though, as 007 used to be the agent number of a great detective before the age of magic and all started. It was also the first notification on the interface about this certain number.

" Was it ?" He muttered under his breath as he tried to recall all the numbers he had read to this point. His eidetic memory was quite useful as he remembered every single number that ever appeared in front of his eyes during the last 13 days of walking. " Nahhhhhhh."

He shook his head. He'd remember if he saw the number. He might not be confident about how strong he was or where he was, but he sure as hell was confident when it came to remembering stuff.

' Show me that last notification again.' He thought, why not? He was getting bored seeing only notifications of people killing magic beasts over and over again anyways. Worst case, he would have to monitor him too, just like the others in his top 25 list.

The top 25 being the 25 with the highest number of notification alerts, or highest number of magic beasts killed. He had been counting numbers for all eighty seven thousand, four hundred and twelve champions who had triggered any notifications at all.

[ Champion#007 ' Wild Wanderer ' has killed Champion#7843 ' Sniper ' . ]

[ Champion#007 is the second champion to hold 2 titles. ]

[ Champion#007 is being transferred to the second level. ]

' Hmmmm.... ' Grim grumbled due to the loss of information. This was the first time he was hearing anything about a second level. It was also his first time hearing about someone getting two titles. He himself had just one title.

As far as he could infer, those who got two titles could go to this supposed second level. He was still on the first level as he had only one title. Therefore, he had to get one more title to proceed anymore.

' Wait no.' He stopped walking as he suddenly remembered the first message he ever saw after waking up.

[ Welcome Son Of Flames.]

[ Welcome Holy Blade.]

[ Welcome Death Chanter.]

Three welcome messages, three different interfaces, three different ' titles ' . He was never needed to pass through the first two levels because he already had three titles the moment he stepped into this land of inheritance.

' A Hero. A stronger Champion. That's what I am. '

But then he realized another problem. ' I never went through the lower danger levels, so I am at most an adult human according to the power level of the humans who created this grading system.'

According to the grading scale he had seen, he was nowhere near as strong as a hero, who was a SS grade entity. He was like a failure of a hero, or maybe even a false hero.

" The word you're looking for is Demi."

" Yes, a Demi-Hero, like a Demi-God. Just like this place is named land of inheritance, we are most likely the heirs of some old heroes. This place is likely their ... " His thoughts suddenly froze mid sentence, and his body felt cold all over.

He cautiously looked around himself, and everywhere his eyes could reach he made sure to check twice every time he felt even a slight hint of doubt.

He still couldn't calm himself down, however. He didn't notice it until now, but it seems he had company.

He was not alone in this forest.
