8 The invasion of the Brizarian Army

As they appreciated the beauty of the garden and saw children playing blissfully in the garden, they walked around the garden and eventually stopped at an Ice cream stall where Ryoku got Berily flavored ice cream. Berily is a type of fruit found in this new world which resembles strawberry but the flavor is amplified almost by ten times the actual strawberry flavor.

Ruru on the other hand went with Chocolate flavored Ice cream. Kasel chose the Mangalia Flavor. It went as the same concept of Berily fruit in terms of flavor but it was that of Mango.

Elena, this time also decided to try Berily flavored Ice cream.

"Mmm, how delicious" Ruru claimed while she ate a piece of her Ice cream. The cream was made of fresh milk and the flavor was worth the price of one silver.

Kasel showed some facial signs of loving his pick of Ice cream and to Ryoku's surprise, even Elena showed some facial expressions of liking the Berily flavored Ice cream.

After they finished their Ice cream, they decided to walk around a bit more and then return home. 

As they were roaming around, they discovered a small boy chasing a flying balloon. Ryoku quickly went and chased the balloon down. He handed it to the kid and said, "Here you go, don't lose it again."

"Thank you, mister!" He replied. The boy returned back in joy. Suddenly, Ruru felt an enormous amount of energy from the surroundings. 

"Be careful!" she shouted to Kasel, Ryoku and Elena.

[Fireball]

Ruru prepared her magic when sudden screams could be heard coming from inside the garden. They rushed to see what was going on. They ran in and amidst the garden, which was green recently, was now filled with a thick layer of Crimson-colored blood. It smelled bad, it stinked actually. Not only the blood but the bodies which laid decapitated, butchered. Ryoku's mind went blank. This place, which was so lively a few minutes ago, just turned into a land full of blood and corpses of innocent people.

Rage flowed inside his body. Even if he wanted to avenge or protect them, he wouldn't be able to because he wasn't strong enough. He only blamed himself for being pathetic when Kasel shook him and said, "Hey, you okay? Let's analyze the situation first"

"What does he mean… how is it not affecting them?! Are they out of their mind…" Ryoku thought gritting his teeth. "But, he is right. Whining will get us nowhere." 

He nodded and saw Ruru who wasn't moved by the disgusting sight. 

*Khiii*

A screech was heard soon enough when they were on move. They noticed that a huge swarm of monster-like creatures is attacking various places. Some people were fighting it.

"Damn it, the Brizarian Army has Invaded"

*Kheeek*

One of the monsters screamed as it got hit by the magic spell.

Ryoku noticed there were monsters of a different color. But, he didn't consider much about it and just kept in mind that they came in different colors. The monsters were a bit bigger than most people.

*Clang* *Clang*

While ryoku dozed off in his observations, Kasel who was carrying a sword was fighting with one such monster. It was a purple-colored monster with big fangs and very inhuman looking.

The hand part of it was modified as a sharp long sword-like object. It moved its hand to fight Kasel.

"This monster…." Kasel thought as he charged towards the monster with his sword. He swung his sword in a vertical arc but the monster jumped backward to evade the attack. 

"It has an intelligence…." 

The monster tried to slash Kasel with a diagonal strike but Kasel instantly raised his sword to parry the monster's attack. He felt his hand going numb from the monster's attack.

"Tch, how annoying."

He went in more fiercely this time. But even when he gave his best, he couldn't defeat it.

Kasel was annoyed. He recalls a past memory where an old man asks him to hit harder but he was always knocked back.

"I will kill you myself…" he muttered to himself.

He went in again, he went for a head-on charge but the monster was tricked this time. When he charged, he raised his sword to slash him with a straight down strike and the monster tried to parry but Kasel moved aside, keeping the monster in his peripheral vision to strike its legs. It worked, the monster lost its balance. Kasel, without giving the monster any time to retain its balance, stabbed it multiple times in all parts of its body.

*Kheeeek* *khe*

The monster groaned in pain before it went silent.

"Hah….. huff….huff… finally….puff...you died" He hyperventilated as he sat on the ground.

"Kid, you don't even know how to kill it, where are you from?" A rash female voice said. Kasel and Ryoku both looked towards the sound source when an arrow flew past them. It was shot by the girl who just spoke a few seconds ago.

*crack*

Something inside the monster broke as she shot the arrow.

"What was the thing that just broke?"

"Oh? That's the core of the monster. Perhaps you are the heroes?" She said while wondering.

"Oh right, it's pretty rude to not introduce myself. I am Clarine, the magic squad division commander." She said.

"And let me guess, you are under the direct supervision of the king?" Ruru asked.

"How do you know?" Clarine asked.

"Nothing less I expect from a closet Otaku," Ryoku thought in his mind, chuckling to himself.

"Well whatever, the monsters you just fought were a small part of the Brizarian army" Clarine informed them.

"What about the other brizarios then?" Ryoku asked out of concern.

Clarine informed him that the other members of her division and it's been taken care of.

"This was rather a Trauma-inducing day for me…" Ryoku thought to himself.

"I still don't understand, how are they so calm? Something's wrong here…"
