9 Discovering Personal Magic

After a dreadful day, they all came back home. Ryoku was quite terrified to sleep that night. The incident was still fresh in his mind. Ruru and Kasel did comfort him by saying that he should forget it. Ryoku thought that they were insane. How can someone forget a genocidal war scene so easily.

He was awake till late night until his tiredness got him and he fell asleep. 

"Hmm? Where is this" Ryoku thought to himself as he watched a scene in front of him.

"Umm, who are you…?" Ryoku asked the man standing at the distance but the man ignored. The man stretched his hand towards the sky and suddenly everything vanished. Everything became…. Black.

Ryoku couldn't move and the man had also disappeared. He felt his vision getting blurry.

"Broth-r, Brother! Brother!!" Ruru was waking him up from sleep. 

"Was it a dream..?" He thought to himself as he rubbed his eyes.

"Thanks for waking me up." He said before getting up.

"Are you still worried about what happened yesterday?" Ruru asked him with a look of concern in her face.

"Not really, I am just tired. Wait for me. I will get down soon."

After Ruru left, he quickly took a bath and changed his clothes then rushed down to grab breakfast. Elena was also eating breakfast at that time. When he went to take his plate, he noticed the jade necklace he gifted to her that day and smiled to himself a bit before sitting on a chair and quickly gobbling up the food.

After finishing their food, they rushed out where Ruru and Kasel were. "Seems like someone is getting along pretty well with a certain someone" Kasel commented with a smug face.

"Shut, up" Ryoku said sarcastically with an awkward smile. Ruru and Elena were confused since they had no idea what they were talking about.

Soon they began walking toward school and reached the school. They entered the class and not to their surprise, someone was getting bullied. As always, the alpha classes bullied the same kid and Ryoku and others ignored it and sat on their own seats.

Soon the bullies left and their theoretical-magic teacher Mr. Toshiro arrived. Everyone greeted him and he started teaching them.

"Today we all will discuss the Demon Kingdom and will explore a bit of personal Magic."

"Finally he will talk about personal magic"

"Man, I am excited"

"Do you think…."

The entire class started to hype up. Though Ryoku, Kasel and others had no idea about Personal magic but they had a decent idea.

"Quiet everyone"

They didn't listen to him.

[Command: stop talking]

Everyone wasn't exactly sure what made them stop from talking. But, they tried their best to move. 

"When I demand Silence, I mean it"

He then began speaking again.

"Let's start with Demon Kingdom. Demons have now coexisted with the human race for about 450 years now. Since the 3rd human-demon war, we decided to make peace. Also, it's common knowledge but I will tell anyway. The demon king has an affinity for all Elements. Not only that, he is the only person in this world who is an SSS rank talent. Reaching SSS means almost equal to a god. Now, the demon race began to question 'why do we have to stop if we have a god by our side'. The answer was pretty simple, Even a God has its limit. An SSS rank isn't a god but almost equal to God. Not to mention, that Demon Lord has shown his presence very less these few years." He explained before asking if there were any doubts.

Ryoku got up and once and asked, "Is there any specific reason the Demon Lord hasn't shown his presence?" 

"Good question. There may be two reasons. First, due to his body wielding such a power, it's hard to control it, but this isn't the case. If he were to go berserk, he could at least wipe half of the world population with ease. Second, his powers are gradually decreasing and… he is about to die" he explained.

Ryoku nodded before he said that he understood and sat down.

"Well now, moving on. Let's come to personal magic. A personal magic, as the name suggests is the magic only a certain person can use. A famous example I could give is 'Nullify' of Hiroto. It nullifies any magic within a certain range. But under certain criterias it doesn't work. However, we are not aware of the criterias yet. There is a chance, a person can have personal magic. It is estimated that only 1 out of ten thousand people have it. Though, it isn't accurate." He said as he moved his hands in a weird manner.

"Then, how do we know that we possess it?" Ryoku asked.

"To be honest, we don't know. Apparently, everyone who has a personal Magic don't remember how they got to know the chant. Same goes for me." He said

"So that earlier… was a personal magic, huh?" He thought in his mind as he sat down.

Hiroto answered some more questions of the students before eventually running out of time.

The practical magic classes also went as always. Ruru learned firing spells in her class. Kasel learned how to use a skill called 'Limit-breaker". Elena summoned her first contract beast which was like a white and fluffy dog. Ryoku served as a Subject for others to use magic on. Miss Wells couldn't find any healing spells meant for the dark element.

And just like that, the practical magic classes were over. Next came the last class. The physical education class.

Apparently, in physical education, Magic was allowed. They played a game called Monkey in the middle. It consists of two teams. One team will divide its members in two sides and one team will be in the middle, they have to dodge the balls the team surrounding them will throw at them.

Ryoku and Elena were in a team of 8 and Kasel and Ruru were on the other team of 8.

Ryoku's team was the one surrounding while Kasel's team was the one dodging.

"Let the game begin," the teacher said.

They started throwing balls at crazy speed. A speed, to which no one would cope up with if they were in their world. But, Kasel had no problem dodging the balls. Some members on Ryoku's team used buffs to throw the ball. One of the balls hit Ruru and she was sent flying back.

Ryoku immediately ran towards her yelling "HEY, YOU OKAY?!" 

She stood up with a bad injury on her arm and said yeah. The teacher told them to look for the Infirmary room which was next to principal's office
