249 The Tigress' Pain

"Well first things first, we get ready for the ball, then the trek and hopefully start wooing you a woman." Moon teased him with a bit of a cat like chuckle. Clovis sighed and reached out rubbing that soft sensitive spot behind her ears. The soothing sensation that moved through her system from that caress.

"Problem is it's been so long since I've wooed a woman, I'm not even sure where to start." Clovis replied as he pushed himself to his feet. Moon nodded honestly having a similar thought. She and Verone had never dated, she wasn't sure seh was the right person to help him with this. Afterall… She had always been the chased not the chaser when it came to men.

"Just start by picking a target and then learn more about her. Then you can try a gift or a meaningful date." Moon offered as they meandered their way toward the Palace Paths. Clovis smiled and nodded.

"I think I've managed to go on a date with her already, thought it wasn't my intention. I think I know enough about her to give her a gift. Hopefully she will be at the ball and I can further my attempts." Prince Clovis added and Moon nodded leading toward home.

"Probably best, that way she gets to meet the competition. Make sure you don't cause any misunderstandings. You can push a sensible woman away by showing interest in another woman." She warned him and he looked at Moon for a long moment. The wind swirled and danced around them, and Moon watched as little wind fairies dances along. She missed enjoying their dance in her human form, her eyes weren't able to catch their delicate bodies like that.

"I'll do my best. When do you plan to leave again? I know I can not trap you at my side." Clovis offered, honestly just not wanting her to disappear without a word again. Last time had been nerve wracking enough. She thought for a moment looking up at the sky as the last fairy danced into the trees.

"Tomorrow I suspect I will need to go hunting. I want to prowl a bit and see if there are any more of those poisoned traps in the gardens." Moon replied honestly not thinking before she spoke. However, the moment the words left her mouth she felt his gaze sharpen as it came to land on her. She looked up at him, doing her best to seem innocent even though her heart was beginning to race against her breast bone.

"How did you hear about those traps? The poison Master and Lady Kyera were the ones heading up that hunt." He replied, prompting for a quick answer. Moon knew from the way he said that she was under scrutiny.

"Tigers and lions are close friends. When your father's tiger was hit, word travels fast through the lionesses and then to the water whole. Many secrets dance from mouth to mouth there unaware of who is near to hear them." Moon replied carefully nonchalant. She pretended not to notice the curiosity in his eyes. No matter how badly she wanted to tell him she could not.

When did it become this way? She wanted him to see her as Kyera and Moon both within the same body. Since when did she wish to let her greatest secret to laid bare before his eyes? If the Law wasn't so deeply set in her heart perhaps she would have done so already. No, not yet there were still things that she needed to make sure were done.

"Ahh I see. That makes quite a bit of sense." He replied nodding at her calmly. "So you will be joining the hunt. Be careful. We don't want you falling into a trap similar to Rashan." Moon looked up at him with mischievous, feline grin. It made her look a touch creepy even with his understanding of that white furry face.

"I will be fine. I am wild at heart, Clovis. Unlike Rashan and the others who have lived in Serenity for so long they have forgot the teachings of the forest. I am still one with my home land." Moon replied with a bit of a chuckle. Clovis tilted his head, once again his curiosity seemed to light.

"How long ago were you taken?" He asked and Moon stopped for a moment. She was counting the days since this nightmarish ride had began.
