1 Chapter 1. The Saintess Who Fell From The Sky : Mai Anh Thư

Amidst the clouds and silky moon fabrics lies a young lad drenched in bodies of gold.

Pure silver like hair bathed in summer's breeze, every flicker of his delicate finger wavered the heavens. Curved lips glistened under the casted sunlights and his majestic build laid flatly on ribbons of constellations.

One might question why this otherworldly being is always looking down--as if searching for something, could it be a mortal? Or a beautiful young lady? His eyes blocked the path of our answers. However, a palm was slightly raised on his chin and he bid a blinding smile as if seeing something interesting and unusual.

It was another bustling busy day of work, the yellings of salesmen could be heard throughout the town of Vinh Quang.

" Hot sweet potato freshly out of the oven for only 4 cash coins! " The old man gleefully called out to the walking citizens, his small business flourishing in quantity.

" As expected of your potatoes, Old Bao! So tender and sweetly seasoned "

" Aiya, I almost missed your food stall. Thank god I made it in time, 4 sweet potatoes please! "

Sweet potato salesman laughed, completely pleased by how adored his crops are, before waving his hand enthusiastically. " These were all grown from Hông Ngọc, it's the land of agriculture and riches. Ho ho ho! Say, would you like to try another one for free?"

Before the lady could joyfully answer, she was cut off with a loud tremble of the earth's surface.

" Is this an earthquake? ", a lad terrified out of his wits by the sudden shaking.

"NONSENSE! THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS AN EARTHQUAKE. THIS HASN'T HAPPENED FOR MILLIONS OF YEARS. I SAY OUR KINGDOM IS FALLING TO IT'S ASHES!"

One could not expect a peaceful Sunday evening would be ruined by an earthquake! Has the town met its end?

Just then, a sudden loud THUM! Could be heard from heaven. The people gazed up at the sky in both awe and fear. Some folks were even kneeling, desperately praying for salvation.

The blinding light acted as a barrier to their vision and a slight flash, something was falling from the sky! It seemed too big for a bird, seemed to be a body, a person?!

A person is falling from the sky, my heaven lord!

The earth ripped itself apart in a slight crack as the loud sound of something hitting it's surface could rang across the country. As if nothing happened at all, everything dimmed down in volume and then the citizens flocked over to see what happened.

Laying on the cracked and dugged out hole by a thunder's impact was a young girl. She looked to be seventeen with wavy medium length hair--not to mention it was the lightest brown they've ever seen on someone. The lass had fair skin with pink plump lips with decent features, honestly speaking, she wasn't bad to look at.

That's me, hi.

Mai Anh Thư laid lifelessly, suffering in pain silently as curious common folks checked if she was dead. It wasn't til she legit opened her eyes like fucking Sadako did they all backed away screaming.

"HOLY SHIT- HOW IS SHE ALIVE AFTER FALLING FROM SUCH HEIGHT!"

" DON'T EVEN MENTION THE HEIGHT, DID YOU HEAR HOW LOUD THE SOUND WAS?! "

They all stared in horror as the youthful lady sat up with such ease and stretched her arms, as if she woke up fresh from her bed, these sweet potatoes can't even compare to how fresh she looks for someone who just fell from the sky. From elders to young men and women to children flinched as she supported herself up from the narrowed hole.

Brushing off the dirt from her thin clothes and carefully ruffling the soft brown hair before turning back. She swore she saw them all flinching in unison again and greeted the town people with a smile.

" Hi, hello! May I ask where this is? " Aaaand all hell broke loose and these soldiers came rushing in by the command of the emperor.

I literally died and fell from the god damn sky, at least give me a warm welcome! Thư internally whined before she zoomed out of there.

If she had to be honest with her casual gesture after causing such turmoil, it was because she was still in shock. Her brain system completely shut itself down. It was clearly unable to fully recover itself and navigate the situation her body was in. After a few more runs with the cool breeze slapping her face.

ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT I FELL DOWN FROM THE SKY THEN I MEET SOME PEOPLE WHO SEEMED TO BE DRESSING ANCIENT VIETNAMESE COSTUME. NOT TO MENTION IM SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD TOO?!

Thư was screaming inside.

The girl didn't even notice how fast she's travelling right now by foot, her body completely indulging in adrenaline. Her mind is racing with so many things at the same time. " Okay..okay..so right now I'm being chased by a bunch of soldiers", Thư looked back and instantly regretted doing so.

These motherfuckers weren't running normally, well, they are, but they're literally flying and jumping from tree to tree. Holy shit is this some Chinese mythology films with all those Sư muội where they had years of cultivation and reached immortality at a certain age? Seems like it.

Anh Thư sighed.
