Birth of the Thorn

John Keen, a 18 year old, strolls the streets of Jongstrom after being kicked out of his home due to his inadequacy to please his parents by getting into a college. The Keen's are a proud and successful family that 99% of the members get into all the highest rated colleges all over the world, and the 1% who fails to do so will automatically get disowned by every Keen.

John who was a dapper boy fell into that 1% because he was a wild type of person who doesn't know how to be focused. He walks with his head down until he reached the public park of Jongstrom, where he then found a bench where he could lay his head. After a while on the bench he turned and look up at the starry sky as a single drop of tear fell from his eyes, he stretched his hands to the sky as he said "I'll let them eat their stupid rules mark my words, I will take the universe as my witness" he then swiftly fell asleep.

John's eyes popped opened as the sun's bright, warm rays hits his face, he sighs and rises to his feet, the rumbling in his stomach was a weird feeling that he had never felt in his life, he then screamed out in anger, which caused eyes from all direction to be locked on to him. Suddenly a middle aged man runs up to him and said "Hey kid it's god damn early" He was a short overweight man wearing a sweat shirt and shorts. He stopped at his feet, breathing heavily as sweat trickles from his body.

"Hey kid what's your problem that your disturbing the peace in the park so early" he said in a deep voice. John paused for a while before telling him his story. The man laughed and said "Just hold on to the thing call faith because you'll make it"

John then replied "I fell and nobody wasn't there to help me up, I don't even know my next move or what direction I should head to"

The man invited him to run with him, without hesitance he accepted his offer, at this moment he would try anything to take his mind off the hunger.

While running the man gave him a couple advice on how not to give up on life. "Your a good kid and your pretty smart so I'm going to give you a push, I have an job opening as an errands boy, If you say yes you got it" Again without hesitance he accepted the man's offer.

"Great the name is Carlos Calvic, OK your job starts at ten, meet me at 108 Parkins Street" the man said before handing him a hundred dollar note "Freshen up, get some clothes and make sure you eat" he said before running to his car. John yelled " Thanks Mr Calvic I promised I won't disappoint you"

The thought he had in his mind now was that the table is finally turning towards him, he looked up to the sky "First step to my promise" he said while laughing.

He then went to a dollar store and bought some clothes, next he headed to a barber shop to get rid of his braided hair, he faded his hair and shaved his facial hair off.

Few minutes later he entered his favorite diner. Accidentally, he runs into his friend Mike Olwy with his high school enemy Cutbrit Sawdler at a table, he walked passed them trying not to get noticed. Unfortunately, by the time he ordered Cutbrit was on the other side of his table.

"If it isn't the black sheep John Keen, what have you been up to" said Cutbrit.

"Are you still mad that your girl came to the dance with me instead of you" John said while laughing.

Cutbrit replied "You know your parents payed for your girlfriend to go to college with your money or should I say ex girlfriend since your boy Olwy moved in on her" he laughed. He left as he sees waitress approached.

John began to eat quickly as it was almost time to work, Olwy approach him and said "Hey man I'm sorry about moving In on your girl like that In one day, but you know how I roll no girl left unturned by me"

"You ain't gotta worry, I just wanna be alone" John said.

"So are we cool man?" he asked.John was in an hurry so he decided to play a trick on his old friend even though he never held a grudge against him. "If you give me your bicycle I'm cool for life" Olwy fell for It and gave him the bike. He then hops on and heads to work. "What a sucker Olwy was to fell for it" John said laughing.

He finally reached the location as the thought finally hits him, what his first day would be like.
