50 The Heavy Responsibility - Part 2

Xun Feng: "Don't let even a word of this go outside, I'll deal with the other elders who were present."

Just at that moment, a fleeting voice appeared in the room: "No need, the elders outside don't remember anything anymore."

Xun Feng immediately became vigilant because he couldn't feel the aura of the one talking.

Xun Feng: "Who are you? Show yourself!"

???: "You will know who I am when the time comes. Take good care of those children, else you will be bringing calamity upon yourself."

Xun Feng's Spirit Power wildly surged through the room as his black robes fluttered even without air, but he couldn't find even a trace of the owner of that fleeting, illusory voice.

Xun Feng: "Honored master, what do you mean they remember nothing? How is that possible?"

???: "I erased their memories. Little girl, I hope you live up to your previous words. Farewell."

If Xun Feng knew the one who was talking was Asura Ryuu's Spirit Avatar, he'd be shocked once again.

-----

Asura Ryuu opened his eyes and saw an azure sky with a slightly purple gradient at the edges and a big red star embedded in the middle of it. The sky didn't resemble either day or night, more like it was both at the same time. The red star shone brightly and a strange feeling came from Asura Ryuu's mind, as if feeling something from that star.

He propped himself up and glanced around himself. What he saw was a big room with intricate red runes on the floor. There was a sofa stretching from one wall to another and a tied curtain at the sides of the window reflecting the azure sky. There was a cliff in front of the window below which was a lush forest made up of diverse nature. Spiritual Plants, strange trees, grass and bushes. There was a path made through the forest that led to the lake. The scenery was very enchanting and wonderful.

The water in a lake was a viridian color and had an azure reflection of the sky when looked at from height. Asura Ryuu took in the scenery that left him speechless with its beauty. There was an altar near the lake that had dozens of gate-like structures made of a peculiar silver material. The gates were overflowing with liquid Spiritual Energy and there were some symbols above the gates, but because of the distance, Asura Ryuu couldn't see them clearly.

Asura Ryuu noticed that this area resembled the area before the mansion quite a bit, but it was far, far more beautiful than their previous residence. When he saw the cliff below the window, he started wondering how the hell will they come down if they want to go out.

At that moment, a soft voice came from behind him: "Oh, you're awake. How are you feeling?"

Asura Ryuu turned around and saw Elder Lan Yao sitting on a sofa opposite of him as Asura Tenka's head gently laid on her thighs. Asura Ryuu hurriedly stood up and bowed: "Greetings, Elder. Thank you for your concern! I'm feeling slightly dizzy, but everything else is fine."

Lan Yao smiled when she saw a little boy so serious, like a little grown up man, and waved her hand, gesturing for him to come sit next to her. Asura Ryuu pretended to be a six-year-old the best he could and happily ran up and sat next to her. In the next moment, Lan Yao's warm hand landed on his ruffled black hair and he spaced out for a moment.

It was a feeling he never felt before. Being comforted like this was something he never experienced in any of his lives before. His little heart suddenly tensed up and the reflection in his black eyes slightly intensified as his eyes became moist.

Asura Ryuu thought: "So this is how it feels... to have parents."

Lan Yao wasn't surprised at all because the same thing happened a while ago with the girl now sleeping in her lap. It was just that this boy is a bit more restrained than his sister. Asura Tenka at least started sobbing when she hugged the little cute thing, but he suppressed his feelings.

Lan Yao: "It's okay."

She didn't say anything besides those two words. The hand that was previously resting in Asura Ryuu's messy hair appeared on his shoulder and gently led him into her lap as well.

Lan Yao: "You two are still too young and young kids shouldn't worry too much. It's okay now, I'm here to do that in your place."

Asura Ryuu finally couldn't hold his tears back as he felt a certain kind of warmth he never felt before coming from all around him. As Lan Yao's hand gently caressed his tired face, he gradually fell asleep once again.

Asura Ryuu had a dream. Inside his dream, he and Asura Tenka were ordinary children that grew up together on Earth. They had loving parents that cared for them more than their own lives. Asura Ryuu and Asura Tenka grew up showered with lots of love and happiness. Finally, the silhouette of those two people appeared crystal-clear in Asura Ryuu's mind. It was the projection of their parents in this world. The pair of Heavenly Dragons that soared to the Heavens six years ago.

Lan Yao looked at the relaxed faces decorated with happiness and melancholy in her lap and felt an indescribable feeling of pride course through her blood. She felt like a mother of two cute children and her joy skyrocketed in an instant. Every time she felt the presence of the two kids, her heart would throb with excitement and endless happiness.

Her eyes fell on the lake and an image of her elder sister appeared before her eyes.

Lan Yao: "Sister, I finally know why you were so happy when you spoke of your children. It really is a warm feeling..."

Her azure eyes and hair seemed somewhat otherworldly, but the tear sliding down her cheek was certainly a thing of this world.

Lan Yao: "Sister... where are you?"

Her mind overflowed with images of her and her sister's childhood.

-----

???: "Lan Yao, you can't be an elder of the Crimson Star Academy! That's my goal, you must pick something else!"

Lan Yao: "But I want to be together with sister! If sister becomes a strong elder, then I will become one too!"

???: "Silly girl. I must be strong to avenge our parents and to protect you. You don't need to be so hard on yourself, it's enough for only me to do it."

-----

???: "Lan Yao, we both have Dragon Soul Spirits, that's great! This way, the Crimson Star Academy will value us and we won't need to fight to survive anymore. Quickly, let's go to the academy!"

-----

???: "Lan Yao, I want to marry a kind man one day and have two beautiful children, but I won't do it before I avenge our parents. I don't want my kids to live without parents as well..."

-----

???: "Lan Yao, I... lied to you."

Lan Yao: "Sister, what do you mean?"

???: "I'm... pregnant."

-----

???: "Little Yao, look at them! Aren't they two cute little fellas?"

------

???: "Lan Yao, I found the killer. Take care of my children if I don't come back."

Lan Yao: "Sister, I will go with you!"

???: "Little Yao, sorry."

The girl with similar features as Lan Yao hugged her sister as Lan Yao fell unconscious for some reason and she disappeared beyond the horizon along with the wind.

-----

Lan Yao recalled all the memories she had together with her missing sister and her eyes were brimming with tears. Her blue eyes stared beyond the window at the azure sky and one red star embedded in it like a gem as her tears slid down like water from an old tap. Her gaze became distant as her head surged with various memories of the past.

Lan Yao: "Sister... are you... still alive?"

The light movement in her lap tugged her drifting mind back to reality as she looked at two little children sleeping. The sadness in her heart gradually vanished and was replaced by a feeling of joy.

She silently swore to herself: "I want to be as strong as you, sister. That's why I will raise these two children as my own and come for you one day! Sister, I believe you're still alive, just wait for me. Just one more tribulation and I will come for you..."
