3 The Feeling of Death - Part 3

The girl's green eyes turned gentle as if a thousand flowers were blooming inside as they landed on an astral form of the man floating in the endless space - Asura Ryuu. Her expression, or at least what could be seen of it, was of a love-struck girl seeing her lover but unfortunately, Asura Ryuu wasn't able to see it because of the branches of the dead tree.

Something within him suddenly reacted when he caught the shadow of her face, as if it was a trigger which caused the bullet filled with a mixture of emotions to strike his heart, clutching it in a death grip.

But precisely because of those inexplicable emotions, he missed something important - how could he feel the emotions now? The reason is simple - because they came from the soul, not from the body.

There were different types of emotions, but the only 'true' ones are those independent from the physical medium of the soul.

Love, longing, pain, sadness, anger...

The list can go on endlessly, but there's a catch: all of them are called 'negative' emotions.

Why are they negative? Because they can't be controlled and are hard to fight against, or at least that's what Asura Ryuu would think.

"Why is this? Why did I react like this when I saw her?". Multitude of questions surged in his mind, but who could answer them?

"Am I missing something?", he thought.

Asura Ryuu was indeed missing some memories. A lot of them, in fact.

He thought his memories recovered fully, but it was only partially true.

The memories from his past life on Earth did indeed recover, but the girl had many, many more memories with him than those mere boring memories of his life as a scientist.

It was precisely at this moment that the girl jumped down from the tree, but it seems even she forgot that her tail was stuck in the tree;

---"Kghh - ahhh. Help!", her sweet and gentle yet frightened voice tugged Asura Ryuu's mind back.

The scene in front of him was comical - there was no way he could remain serious this time.

"Hahahaha. What are you doing, you dumb girl?"

Even though he was laughing, Asura Ryuu's astral body floated and landed in front of the dead tree made of stars, where one particular star shined with particular splendor - exactly on the place where the tail was embedded in the tree.

The girl was hanging upside down, her tail acting as a rope which held her captive from falling down.

While Asura Ryuu was helping her up his thoughts wandered off... again.

"Hm... why is she hanging like this, there shouldn't be gravity in the afterlife?"

But, faster than his mind could find an answer - a feeling similar to lightning thundering through his mind destroyed all of his thoughts as he found himself unable to move or even think.

Why was this so?

Because when he was about to help the girl up, she shot upwards against the non-existent gravity and tightly embraced him as her soft and thin lips sealed his own.

Shock.

Surprise.

Bewilderment.

Even Asura Ryuu himself didn't know what he felt at that moment except the sweet feeling of her soft lips connecting the two of them into one.

A long time had passed before the girl took the initiative to part her lips and look deeply into his eyes, but she didn't let go of her embrace.

Both of them floating in space below the starry tree, completely naked in each other's embrace. What an awesome scene that is, as if only the two of them existed in the entire world.

Even the surrounding stars lost their radiance, as if submitting to them in awe.

---"Do you know how long I've been waiting for this moment?"

"..."

Asura Ryuu wanted to say something, but he didn't know what to say. He had not the slightest idea where to start!

He could only faintly close his eyes in resignation and shake his head, accompanied by a light sigh.

Neither of them noticed that what was previously dead space now seemed more lifelike with emotions, feelings and various 'tangible' things which were initially missing.

It was strange - very strange. Why is it that when Asura Ryuu first awoke he couldn't feel anything - neither emotions nor his own body, but now there was this sweet feeling of the girl's lips?

It seemed as if this entire world was somehow connected to his will and mind, but he hadn't noticed it yet.

But he can't be blamed - anyone would blank out if a lovely and cute demon girl kissed him out of nowhere, much less when she was tightly embracing him stark naked with her wings wrapped around the two of them.

How can an introvert virgin withstand such a close contact with a girl whose beauty rivalled and even exceeded that of a goddess?

More and more feelings materialized in those silent moments.

He could feel her warmth, the gentleness in her eyes as well as the love hidden in those lime green pearls.

He could even feel the fire down there burning with intensity even though the little brother had been missing since he awoke.

His dark and common eyes were glued to those lime-green star-like eyes as if they were gates to the abyss which would only allow one glance at it, although it would be an eternal one.

In other words, he couldn't extract his eyes from hers. Endless questions had vanished as if a mere look could answer them, but he couldn't find the reason why.

Regardless of how hard Asura Ryuu tried to think why would she act like that, he found it completely strange. This demoness invaded his mind at an early age and kept him company even though they could interact only when he was asleep and would forget about everything as soon as he awoke.

Neither of them had it easy, alright. One would forget about other as soon as he awoke and the other would spend the time in this vast loneliness of the endless darkness penetrated by a ray of light here and there.

His heart should be jumping from joy right now, but it was as calm as the surface of the lake.

Even if you beat him to death, Asura Ryuu didn't know what the hell happened here just now.

But the girl did.
