"Mother! Where are you going?" Myrtle asked surprised to see her mother dressed up. She had only just recovered from the shock of discovering Pete's marriage to another and losing a daughter. Her mother had always had boundless energy but she had not expected her mother back at the social scene so soon especially as ill rumours were still flying around the place.

"Oh! The Beta's wife has just returned from her travels. We the ladies are hosting a tea party to celebrate her arrival," came Esmeray's reply.

Since the kingdom of Aysun currently had no Luna, Vallus' mother, Lady Matilda was the highest ranking female in all of Aysun and she demanded and was treated as such.

"Mother? Are you sure about this? The ladies will..."

"I am not a child dear, I will be just fine. Besides I cannot stay locked in forever. It's okay to feel pain but you must not let pain prevail. I will go there and hold my head high," Lady Esmeray said with a sweet smile.
