The Tale of Ashes and Blood

Long ago, an ancient tale whispered of "The Tale of Ashes and Blood," recounting the epic war between two races: the humans, known as fleshlings, and the monstrous beings, known as the enchanted, during the invasion of Gloremora, once called Earth.

According to the ancient tale, humans were the initial conquerors of Gloremora, living peacefully within it, until one fateful day when the clouds darkened, and the sky wept tears, heralding a monstrous event.

Amidst the chaos, a distinct creature appeared. Bearing the semblance of an angel, pure and resplendent, he descended upon the earth with a nobler purpose than most. Bathed in the celestial glow of the heavens, his arrival was heralded by whispers of the wind. His aura transcended the divine, offering solace and protection to humanity in its darkest hour, halting the ceaseless tide of bloodshed.

However, upon reaching the ground, it became evident that his appearance was solely to deceive mortal eyes. Awaking to the world with eyes ablaze like rubies, cascading a fiery brilliance, and hair akin to midnight silk shimmering under the softest touch of light, crowned by a halo of formidable thorns, his first words declared the intent of his kind.

"We are called the enchanted. And we are here to claim what was once ours and shall only be mine to control."

With a flourish, he unfurled his midnight wings, casting destruction and trepidation among the mortals who beheld his majestic form. Yet, their battle endured through the turning of a thousand years, an unyielding struggle to reclaim what had seemingly slipped through their grasp.

For the fleshlings, each proclamation of war yielded naught but buried bodies. As the years passed, their numbers dwindled with each battle, their once-vibrant existence slowly fading into history.

They were losing, one by one. The enchanted were too strong.

And just when the fleshlings were about to lose hope, a child was born. A child who bore the blood of both fleshlings and the enchanted.

A girl who trades her heart and became ashes and blood.
