20 Chapter 19

The next day Angela faced a Stone Snake. Even though it's grade is only Uncommon, it is two levels higher than Skye. Given that the Stone Snake has a Stone Skin skill, Skye had a bit of a hard time getting past it's defenses.

However, because the only method of attack the Stone Snake have is flinging stones at Skye - which is easily avoided by her, the match was slowly won by Skye by concentrating her Light shots on one spot.

After 5 minutes, the contractor of the Stone Snake saw that there really is no chance of winning the fight so he forfeited the match.

The way Angela won this match also made the other contenders more wary of her, targeting one spot consistently while moving is a very hard skill to obtain, it usually takes years of practice to be able to do it, which Angela and Skye had.

When Kai and Nathan saw how amazed the people were they felt smug. Angela isn't the only one able to do that, they can also do it. However, they are not as proficient at it as Angela is. They also wondered what the people's reactions will be once they saw her trump card.

After the match, the three friends are currently in their hotel room analyzing all the current opponents still remaining in the elimination rounds.

"Unless you got really unlucky and matched with the Sword Guy or Stamina Sucking Lily or the Assassination Spider tomorrow, you are sure to get to the last 14." - Kai

"Exactly, even though the other ones are still strong, they are no match for you, so pray that you don't match with the big three tomorrow if you don't want to either lose or show all of your trump cards." - Nathan

"You guys know that I don't believe in luck, in the arena I did all the preparations I can and practiced with you guys until I am sure that I can beat my adversaries, I never gave up and challenged them again and again until I get my win. So don't base whether I win or not on luck, because I would be so ashamed of myself as a fighter if I attributed all my wins on luck." - Angela

"I'm sorry that I said that, it's just that I also feel pressured and nervous for you, more than what I felt when we were still helping you win all your battles in the arena as your manager." - Kai

"I'm sorry too." - Nathan

"It's okay I get you, even though I am still excited on fighting strong opponents, I also feel nervous because unlike in the arena where what we only lose is some money, I might lose my qualifications in entering the school with you guys," after Angela said this a little bit of sadness peeked through her eyes, however determination quickly replaced it. "I don't want to be emotional so let's start with what we usually do".

When Kai and Nathan heard that, they both became more serious.

"I and Nathan made four groups in the last 25 contenders you have to face, the first group is the ones you can easily defeat, the second group is the ones that are a bit harder and some would make you reveal your current hidden trump cards in order to defeat them, the third group on the other hand would take you everything you have to have a chance of defeating them, the person on the fourth group is the only one you really have no chance of winning if you are matched up with him." - Kai

"The best case scenario is if you are matched up with either of the 2 contenders in the first group but that is a very unlikely chance given that there is still 26 contenders in tomorrow's elimination rounds. This two are the Night Owl and Charm Fox, both not yet reaching Bronze." - Nathan

"Charm Fox?" - Angela

"Yeah, it isn't really that strong, it's just really lucky that both of it's opponents is weaker than it and easier to charm, though I'm sure that she won't survive the upcoming round." - Kai

When Angela heard that, her confusion was gone, Charm Foxes is one of the top familiars beast tamers when it comes to charming other beasts and making them do it's bidding. Angela's became confused because even though Charm Foxes are really talented, it is not a familiar that can fight on the arena, because except for it's a little above average speed it is weak in all of its physical aspects.

"We know that you wanted challenge so we will not reveal the second group, we are confident that you can defeat this group," Kai said, they only revealed the first group to inform her about how many contenders are remaining to be included in the second, third and fourth group, which Angela understood.

"The third group is the Stamina Sucking Lily, Assassination Spider and Blood Lord Rat, while the fourth is the Sword Guy." - Nathan

(Author's Note: The Blood Lord Rat is still in the competition even if he wouldn't show up in the next round, they included it on the list.)

"Is it really hopeless for me to win against the Sword Guy?" Angela said, she was a bit indignant.

"You haven't seen his matches have you? I'll tell you how the matches happened, the first round he was unscathed because he dodged all the attacks of his opponent while slashing at his opponent, slowly whittling down and defeating his opponent without using any trump cards," Kai said and paused to help Angela analyze his words. "In the second round, his opponent is a Fire Lizard, he also easily dodged all the opponent's fire projectiles, however when he came close and the Fire Lizard breathed out a wall of flames he easily slashed the wall using his familiar's Sharpness skill and then the momentum of the strike continued and left an almost severe injury on the Fire Lizard."

When Angela heard how Lucas won his matches, she now understood why he is a very formidable opponent, even though her familiar's attacks are very fast and now Skye's movements are also fast, she was sure that to do what he had done in his matches is only possible if someone is adept in fighting, when you are adept in fighting no matter what type of opponent comes your way you would be able to find a solution to conquer and defeat it. He hasn't even shown his trump cards yet, which was sure to be very strong.

The trio of friends then prepared and strategized how to win or counter the contenders on the third and fourth group based on what the 4 contenders has shown in the elimination rounds. Kai really wanted to reveal all the information he knows about them but he can't because he doesn't wanna reveal his ability to anyone yet, even to his two best friends.

Author's Note: I haven't uploaded a chapter for a while and I'm really sorry. I just had a problem regarding my studies and had to focus on it for a while. I was so nervous about it for a few days and a bit exhausted when I finished it so my mind can't really focus on anything for a while. I'll try to be consistent on my updates again now that I've recovered a bit.
