11 Chapter 10

After a minute of everyone crying and saying goodbye to each other, the train finally arrived. Angela and Nathan, hurriedly fixed themselves and waited for the doors of the train to open. Kai, on the other hand is still crying while hugging his sister, if he wasn't reminded by his mother that the train arrived he would have still been embracing his sister, not realizing that the train already departed.

The moment he stepped away from his sister, he heard his two friends teasing him, "Siscon".

"What the hell is wrong with embracing my sister? I wouldn't see her for a year!" Kai rebutted.

"Don't defend yourself anymore, just embrace that you truly are a siscon." - Nathan

"That's right, there's no point in defending yourself Kai, everyone here knows that you are a siscon," Angela seconded and everyone laughed.

"Brother what's a siscon?" Kurena, who was clueless on what's happening and doesn't know why everybody is laughing asked.

When everyone heard that, they all stopped laughing and silence ensued, until Kai broke the ice. "Oh look! The train doors is opening! Angela, Nathan come on let's get ready to get in".

"Y-yeah! let's go!" - Angela

When the previous passengers all got off the train Kai looked back once more and waved goodbye to his parents and sister, Fleur also made a water figure and waved to them. They then hurriedly got on the train, scared to be left on the station.

The inside of the train is very clean and well maintained, Kai felt that the half of his thousands of savings that he spent on this train ride is worth it. He and Nathan searched for their cabin on the right side of the train, while Angela split from them and looked for her cabin on the left side of the train, she will share her room with a stranger. Kai didn't really feel bothered with sharing a room with Nathan, because he knows that he is not Nathan's type at all, he likes very muscular men.

When they reached their room, Kai took the top part of the bunk bed, while Nathan took the bottom part, they then arraged their baggage so it wouldn't be a nuisance for the whole ride. Kai first put down the Floating Pot that Fleur was on the bedside table.

"Nathan, how do things work in the academy, according to your brother?" Kai asked while working on his baggages.

"I don't know, brother isn't allowed to disclose anything about the academy outside so even though I ask every year I never got answers." - Nathan

"I hope there's a huge library there." - Kai

"Nerd *rolls eyes*, of course there would be a library there! I would literally doubt whether they are one of the greatest if they don't even have their own library, oh are you finished? Let's go look for Angela and wander around the train." - Nathan

When Kai heard that, his hands that was holding a thick book paused, "Umm, do I really need to come along?"

Nathan without looking, knowing that his friend already took out a book to read rolls his eyes and dragged him outside, leaving the book in the room with Onyx and Fleur. They aren't allowed to take familiars out of their room while the train was running.

"All you think about is books! That's why you and Angela broke up in the first place, Come on let's enjoy the train ride while we can." - Nathan

They walked to the left side of the train and looked for the room that Angela booked, when they reached the room, they knocked gently in consideration to her temporary roommate.

When Angela opened the door and saw his two friends outside, she knew Nathan wanted to wander around as usual. She took her purse immediately but quietly, then when she got out, she tried to close the door as quiet as possible.

"Whoo! Thanks for saving me back there guys," She whispered as soon as she got a few feet away from the room.

"Why? What happened?." - Nathan

"Nothing, just that cliche rich people doesn't wanna talk to someone below them. I tried so hard to have a conversation with her but all she answers is just a few words and she even seems so irritated, argh! I feel so mad!," Angela ranted.

"Are you still not used to it? Except for a few exceptions, almost all rich second generation kids are like that, I think it's already lucky for you that your roommate just doesn't wanna talk to you." - Kai

Angela agreed to what Kai said, while even though Nathan never experienced what they experienced, he also agreed because he also doesn't like condescending nobles, it feels tiring to talk to them.

"Change of topic, the spider she has, I think is Epic grade." - Kai

"Isn't that already a given? With how pompous she acts, I would be really surprised if her family can't buy her at least an Epic grade familiar." - Angela

"Speaking of which, I still can't believe how easy you can tell the grades of beasts are with just one look Kai, if not for you I would have never picked Onyx at all. My family is just too stuck up with our tradition regarding never helping us pick our first familiar," Nathan said.

Kai and Angela have known about that family tradition of Nathan's family for a few years now. Many noble families in the world of Komu have their own traditions that they follow. The Heron Family's tradition is that, in under no circumstances will any family member help a young blood of the family pick their first familiar.

Nathan was very against this tradition, and if he could be the head of their family, it would be the first thing he will change in the family. However, Nathan doesn't really have any desire to take the position at all, so he just hopes that his brother is on the same page as him.

"It's been years Nathan, you got an Epic familiar as your first familiar, so I think it's time for you to just forget it. Anyway, you're just bitter about it because it's the first time your parents denied you of what you want, which is them gifting you your own familiar on your 10th birthday," Angela said and when she saw Nathan's face cringed a bit, she knew she hit the mark.

After a few minutes of talking while walking, they reached the restaurant, where they ordered their own food, which is paid for by Nathan and talked more while eating.
