The Alarm Known As Mother

"Well, I didn't expect that to happen." Aysel muttered as the shadow had exploded in Aiden's hand before it could move forward.

"That hurt for a few seconds but know I feel fine." Aiden replied with a surprised look as he looked at his hand to see that it was perfectly fine.

"Well, your level of shadow control is still very low so it didn't have much power. Though if your shadow control was at my level, your hand might have been destroyed." Aysel commented as Aiden suddenly felt frightened.

"Don't worry. By the time your shadow control becomes that high, you would be able to easily use this skill." His mother explained as Aiden slowly nodded.

"Now let's try that again but this time, release it from your fist instead of a finger." Aysel said as Aiden nodded and formed a fist with his right hand.

Since he was using a fist, he required a little larger amount of shadow which wasn't a hard thing to get.

'I hope my bones don't shatter.' Aiden prayed as he released the shadow forward and surprisingly, it moved out from his fist.

But instead of a beam, it took the shape of a fist. But it only moved a few feet forward before it suddenly vanished.

"I guess I don't have enough power." Aiden sighed as he turned to look at Aysel who was smiling.

"Damn Aiden, you just put many adults to shame. People take up to a month to learn how to release shadows out of their hands and then another month to actually make it move up to one meter. You just did that in one day." She replied as Aiden was suddenly curious about one thing.

"How long did you take to shoot a shadow beam?" He asked as Aysel sighed.

"One that could hit that tree? It took me a week."

'That was tiring.' Aiden sighed as he crashed down on his bed and glanced at his ceiling.

He had been practicing with his mother for hours but no matter how much he tried, he could make the shadows go more further than a few feet.

< Don't worry host, you are doing awesome. You might be able to reach more further after a few days. > The system motivated him as Aiden smiled.

'You are right system. Guess I should just sleep.' He replied before closing his eyes.

< You were so tired host that you fell asleep so soon. > The system said as Aiden was already asleep.

"Aiden, wake up quickly! You have to attend your academy today!" A voice suddenly rang inside Aiden's head as he woke up with a startled expression.

"What? Who? Where?" He blurted out while being half-awake as he saw his mother facepalming in front of him.

"You have your daily classes, today son. And you would be late for it you don't wake up and get ready." Aysel replied as Aiden groggy rubbed his eyes and stifled a yawn.

"I will get ready mother but you have to go out for that?" Aiden said as Aysel nodded.

"Don't you dare try to sleep again or I will throw water on you." Aysel warned Aiden one last time before she vanished.

"Argh! Student life sucks." Aiden complained even though he had a small smile on his face.

After all, today was going to be a different day for him.

< Do you need me to guide you host? I promise that I will give you the best tips on how to start and keep a conversation going on. > The system commented as Aiden rolled his eyes.

'You just had to go ahead and say that. My social skills are not that bad system.' Aiden replied as he quickly got ready for his academy.

He had only known yesterday that his academy was named Red Moon academy and was named after the special red moon that only appeared once in a decade.

Since he had to maintain an image at the academy, Aiden wore formal clothes. Black trousers with a white shirt and a red and black coat on it.

The coat had a red and a shadow-colored crown on it near the heart area to represent him as the royal prince.

Even the coat was specially made for him since most people knew his father to be a fire user while his mother to be a shadow user.

After getting ready, he called his mother again as she came back and quickly vanished with him.

"Guess you will have some friends now. Enjoy your day." Aysel said to him in a hurry as they appeared outside his classroom before vanishing again.

< I bet that she read that in a parenting magazine. She probably thinks that kids don't like being seen with their mother since it makes them appear less cool. > The system commented as Aiden frowned.

'I don't think any magazine says that but on second thought, does a parenting magazine even exist here?' He asked back as he turned towards the classroom and entered it.

< And the entire room fell silent. Damn host, what an entrance. You should feel like an anime protagonist now > The system commented as a vein popped on Aiden's forehead.

'Please shut up for a moment system.' Aiden replied as he went to sit down at his seat.

The hovering air system was removed for now and was instead replaced with desks and chairs.

Aiden turned his attention towards the front of the class where Kisuke was standing. He sighed once before he began speaking.

"As all of you already know, your trial of worth will be conducted again. The date is still not decided but it will happen again. So you guys should be prepared to face the trial again. That's it for now. I have to go to a meeting so you have the entire day free." Kisuke announced as he walked out of the class while sighing.

For a minute, nobody moved or spoke anything.

But then, a figure suddenly moved towards Aiden.
