5 O Spirit Of Lightning

A white glow appeared around Aiden's feet as the others frowned because of the light. They were on full alert as anything could happen.

But when the light cleared off, they saw that a pair of shoes were visible on Aiden's feet.

'So it worked huh. For a second there, I thought it would fail.' Aiden could feel excitement rushing through his body with the appearance of the shoes.

But sadly, the excitement didn't last for long.

The woman had knocked and launched a bow in his direction since she had a bad feeling about the shoes. And her bad feeling was true.

But before it could hit him, Aiden suddenly jumped fifteen feet into the air and walked on the air with a satisfied expression.

"How did you he do that?" The woman whirled towards Infini who stood with an expressionless face.

"I don't have any reason for telling you anything," Infini said while smiling. "After all, this is a fair battle. And you have the brains to figure that out yourself."

Aiden smiled at Infini's words but he had to admit that her words were true. But he had to admit that choosing a pair of wind walking shoes was smart.

While looking down at the remaining people, Aiden's eyes suddenly caught two lightnings symbols that were etched on the right side of both of his shoes.

But he didn't have the time to assess his shoes as the women launched another barrage of arrows. But now that everyone had a countermeasure for her arrows, they were becoming useless.

"Argh!" She was getting frustrated about the fact that all of the remaining people were dodging her attacks.

But her eyes suddenly lit up as she looked at Aiden's shoes. She then turned her eyes in Infini's direction before notching another arrow in her bow.

"You said that I have infinite arrows. Can I change the type of arrows I have?" She slowly asked as Aiden narrowed his eyes. "Like the different types of attacks those people in fantasy movies and novels use?"

Infini didn't say anything but it was clear as day that she had answered the woman's question, just not in front of everyone.

Aiden could tell this because the woman had a smile on her face but it contained no humor. She instead looked like a child who had just received a new toy.

The woman than stopped smiling and suddenly chanted a few words

"O spirit of darkness! Hear my prayer and bestow me the arrow of poison!" The arrows notched in her bow suddenly turned pure black.

Smoke started to rise from the arrow as she pointed towards the boy with the shield and released it.

Since he hadn't heard what she had been chanting and had only seen the changes in the arrow, he could only raise his shield to protect himself.

The arrow banged against the shield as smoke started to rise from the metal. The arrow then slowly pierced the metal as it created a hole in the shield.

It moved past the hole and the boy could only widen his eyes as the arrow suddenly implanted in the middle of his forehead.

Black markings started to appear on his body as his eyes hollowed out. He crashed down on the ground as the shield clattered away. Hissing noises filled the air as steam started to rise from the boy's body.

His skin slowly started melting as his body suddenly vanished. Now only three people were left as the thirteen years old girl suddenly raised her spear and threw it at the woman.

The latter's eyes widened as the spear started moving towards her with deadly accuracy. It was almost as though it was being controlled by someone.

Aiden turned his gaze towards the girl as she had her eyes closed and it looked as though she was focusing on something.

'She is manually controlling it.' The girl was manually manipulating the spear to move towards the woman.

The woman was dashing left and right and yet the spear kept following her. Aiden thought that this was a good moment to remove the girl from the play but then his last opponent would be the woman.

And fighting her head on without any weapon was equal to suicide.

'I wonder how she found out about that ability though. Maybe she asked Infini through some sort of telepathy?' Aiden then thought how he could do this too but he had no idea how to talk using telepathy.

[ The special ability of your weapon is connected to the symbol on your shoes. ] But it looked as though she had somehow heard him.

Aiden then glanced at the lightning symbol on his boots. If he remembered everything correctly, the people in the anime used chants or spells to use their magic.

So he just had to figure out a chant for that.

As he was thinking about a suitable chant, he saw the woman notching five arrows in her bow with a devious smile.

"O spirit of fire! Bless my arrow with the fury of your flames! Quiver of Inferno!" The woman chanted and released the arrows at once.

Fire trailed around the edges of the arrows as pierced through the air.

They suddenly came in contact with the spear as the flames raged around. They suddenly went wild and started wrapping the spear in fire as the flames started burning.

Within seconds, the spear turned to ash and fell on the ground. The 13-year-old girl then opened her eyes which were wide in terror.

"I quit!" She suddenly yelled as her body vanished.

Now only Aiden and the woman remained. The woman notched five more arrows in her bow and Aiden understood that she was about to use a similar attack to her previous one.

'What chant can be used to get close to the woman and defeat her at the same time?' Aiden started brainstorming about this when it finally hit him.

If his shoes had the lightning element, he could use them in two ways. One was for offense AKA complete destruction and the second for movement.

But it could also be used to create things such as a lightning web or a net that will destroy anything it touches.

Which meant that if the woman launched her arrows at Aiden, he could easily counter her. But then there was a chance that both things would collide which each other and fall on the ground.

So because of that reason, Aiden had a different chant in his mind.

"O spirit of lightning. Bless me with the swiftness of lightning." Aiden muttered in a low voice so that the woman couldn't hear him.

He could have used air for the same thing but that wouldn't have been good enough for his plan. Sparks of lightning appeared around his feet. He suddenly dashed forward as the woman narrowed her eyes.

But before she could release her arrows, Aiden suddenly appeared in front of her and kicked her face with his shoes.

The woman suddenly flew back and hit against the white wall of the room as she slumped down on the ground.

Her bow and the arrows in it clanged down on the ground as her body shook a little before she vanished. The room indulged in silence as Infini looked at Aiden with an interested expression.

'So he used his brain to defeat her huh. At least he isn't someone who needs to be spoon-fed everything,' She silently thought before looking towards Aiden.

"Congratulations Aiden, you won."
