4 Cruelty Of The World

Aiden turned around as he saw a dead body fall down. He then saw a 15-year-old boy holding a silver dagger.

The boy had wild frightened eyes and his hands were shaking badly. A tear trickled down his cheek as the remaining eight people back away but Aiden, the eleventh person, remained rooted to his spot.

'He is younger than me and he just killed someone the moment the signal was given. The world is more crueler than I imagined.' He slowly thought as the teenager turned towards him.

Seeing the gaze in his eyes, Aiden retracted a few steps back as his entire body was fully aware of his surroundings.

He realized that there were a few more people that he needed to stay conscious of. After all, who knows what any one of them could do.

He then started assessing the people.

The youngest one was a boy who looked around twelve years old while the oldest one was a woman wearing a business suit and looked like a person in her early twenties.

Even though they looked terrified, there might be someone in their midst who might be playing as the innocent person just to reveal their true nature later on.

With Aiden's experience with bullies, he knew that this might be true. After all, nobody knew a person's true nature unless they showed it.

Being in the middle of everyone and the 15-year-old teenager was basically committing suicide since he was posing as a meat shield between the teenager and everyone else.

And if someone decided to kill him from the behind, there was nothing that he could do about it.

It would basically be 'you had a chance and died again. Now you can either become a sweeper here or just die again and find out what will happen' situation.

Or perhaps Infini will give him an upgrade and make him a caretaker of the place.

'What the fuck am I thinking?!' He mentally chided himself before turning to look at Infini.

"How does he have a dagger though?" Aiden asked out loud while pointing at the boy with the knife.

"This is a battle of survival. You can use anything to win though modern weapons like guns, rocket launchers, etc. are not allowed. After all, a fantasy world does not have super weapons." Infini looked at their expressions one by one and it felt as though they were peering inside their souls.

But that had been enough information for Aiden as he looked around with a sharp gaze.

He slowly moved backward as everyone was evaluating what they should do. Then suddenly, a bow and a quiver full of arrows appeared in the hands of the twenty-one years old woman.

The arrows were made from glistening steel and gleamed dangerously as Aiden gulped in nervousness when he saw it cause this weapon gave her the advantage of hitting people from afar.

"You can only have a single thing with you and if you chose it wrongly, you can't change it. As for the projectiles, you can summon an infinite number of them. Also, things taken by a person cannot be taken by anyone else." Infini suddenly announced as the woman grinned.

"Um miss, maybe we should rethink this. We can solve this without killing anyone." A twenty-year-old man wearing a suit said nervously as the woman turned towards him with cold eyes.

"I am an assassin. I was on my way to kill a client but was the one who was killed instead. It wasn't my fault that I became an assassin. I was trained since childhood" She said in a cold voice. "I am not leaving this chance to live in another world just because of someone like you. You can 'negotiate' or deal with the person you meet next."

With lightning-fast speed, she notched an arrow in the bow and released it towards the young man within mere seconds as Aiden turned his gaze away and heard the man's body falling down as the arrow pierced his heart.

He then turned back to see the man's body vanishing alongside the blood surrounding it. And with that nine participants, including himself remained.

The woman's gaze then turned towards the remaining people who were all under eighteen. Aiden knew what was about to happen as he suddenly started running in a criss-cross manner.

Before the others could understand what was happening, more dead bodies started to fall down. One by one, the bodies started vanishing as the others started summoning weapons.

One boy who looked about seventeen years old summoned a shield and blocked the woman's arrows but unfortunately, this meant that he couldn't attack anyone with the shield.

Another person, a girl about thirteen years old summoned a spear about five foot and three inches tall, which was basically her height, and grabbed it from the middle.

She then started rotating it in a circular manner and deflected the arrows coming towards her. It was a smart move if anyone asked Aiden about it.

The kid with the dagger who had been the first to kill someone was already dead as an arrow had passed through his head and had pierced his brain. In total, four people remained.

Aiden stopped dashing around for a moment as everyone was fully alert. He still hadn't summoned any weapon since the most useful ones were already picked by someone else. He could try summoning an armor but that might hinder his movement and give the woman a chance to destroy chunks of it.

'A fantasy world. Infini said that we can use weapons that belong to a fantasy world. Could that mean that we can use weapons that don't exist on Earth?' Aiden wondered slowly as he remembered the anime he had watched.

Even though he hadn't read any novels, he had still watched quite a huge number of isekai anime to know about fantasy worlds.

And if what he was thinking was correct, then it might just be the key for him to win everything.
