13 Scripted in Blood Pt 5

Draig was brought from his sleep by loud sounds resounding from outside, what he saw before him almost sent him into shock. Guilders and lots of them.

"Ah good now that you are awake we can begin the announcement" stated a Spiraling Serpent member

"What announcement" asked Draig feeling a pit building in his stomach.

"Lord Zarra has decreed that due to the irreconcilable differences between the city's enchanter and its guilds there will be a competition of his own designs. Either side may select as many competitors as they would like but it is stated that there are no rules except neither side wins until the other surrenders." announced the Guilder with a smirk.

"I see" stated Draig with his face set into a stern expression.

"I look forward to seeing if you can last leech" laughed the Spiraling Serpent member as he called for his fellows to follow him leaving the Farm empty save for Draig and Dracule.

Soon however a pair of heavy boots hit the ground, looking towards the source it was revealed to be none other than Zarra.

"Come to see the results of your handiwork" spat Draig being in no mood for the mage after the declaration he had heard.

"Well that and tell you there have been some last minute changes" stated the mage lackadaisically.

"Don't play games, what changes" demanded Draig with narrowed eyes.

"Well, its actually not much better but at least you will have some type of fighting chance." started Zarra with an oddly serious tone.

"Speak" commanded Draig annoyed by the stalling.

"You have two months time to prepare and now the challenge will be set in stages. Essentially you will be fighting with Gold emblem Guilders from each guild so you wont be mobbed by the entirety of the Guilds at once" explained Zarra but saw the confusion in the young Feratu's eyes.

"What's wrong" asked Zarra curiously.

"Gold emblem" asked Draig causing the mage to sputter for a second on the verge of puking blood.

"How do you not even know this basic thing" cried the mage in outrage.

"I am a Vampire in a Human society, why would someone teach me these things. How do you not understand this basic thing" spat Draig throwing similar words in the mage's face, causing him to grimace at the truth in the statement.

"Copper, the lowest ranking emblem in any guild. These Guilders tend to be new recruits most of the time or worst case scenario those with low talent or non offensive classes. Silver, the second lowest ranking emblem in the Guild system. These are the Guilders who have shown their potential and ability for more difficult tasks. Gold, this is the second highest ranking emblem in the Guild System. These are Guilders who have shown themselves to be reliable members to the Guild who have proven their worth through countless trials. Core, this is the highest prestige a Guilder can possess before becoming a leader or elder of the Guild. These elite members of the Guild are considered one of the supporting pillars of the Guild and is only surpassed in authority by a Guild Elder or Guild Leader. That clear it up for you" asked Zarra after explaining the ranking system as simply as possible.

Draig upon hearing the full explanation began wondering where the Mage's favor came into play, if initially they were just going to flood him with Guilders at least a majority would have been Copper as he now understood. Now with the changes made it seemed to the young Feratu that perhaps the mage was secretly planning his demise but with his power why would he go through the effort of being indirect about it.

"Alright it seems like you have many things to prepare so I will take my leave" stated the Mage leaving through a rift before Draig could fully comprehend the sudden departure.

Cursing to himself Draig called for the old pumpkin to go deliver a message.

"Deliver this message quickly, I must complete the tome before this moment of reprieve is gone" ordered Draig as he looked at the Nether iron clump he was given.

He still required a few other specialized materials but if he was truly rushed then he would just push forward with what he had and try again when he had leveled up the Bloodscript more. Draig began thinking and realized he hadn't practiced many of the magics he had gained from his sorted memories let alone the fact he needed to boost his magic capacity to use them to their fullest potential.

'Stats' thought Draig pulling up his menu and looking through his stats until he was staring at the only one he could level.

Draig had two stat points, these were part of the reward he had received for completing his first Daily mission. Draig couldn't fathom why he hadn't just immediately assigned them to his Mana stat as there was nothing else he could spend the points on.

After spending the points towards his Mana Draig felt a decent burst of energy course through him.

'Magic capacity is now 120' came the message from the system.

Logically speaking his Magic had most likely started at a hundred which would mean each stat point he added would increase his total capacity by ten. Thinking along these Draig wondered just how far he could go, he had only one stat able to be assigned points where as others had multiple stats to level. In other words Draig's Mana stat would be monstrous after a bit of conventional leveling, this would also allow him the edge he needed as his magic was perhaps his most proficient ability.

Finding another possible route Draig opened his menu again and looked towards his mission tag and the message appeared.

'Would you like to accept Daily Mission'

"Yes" came the solemn answer as Draig began his journey of leveling to survive.
