28 Escape While on Full Alert pt 2

Night seemed to come quicker than Draig would have thought as he watched the moon rise into the sky.

"It's time" stated Draig alerting Kira.

The mosquitoes came to life and fluttered out of the building that Draig and Kira had been hiding, soundlessly the swarm spread among the city as they set about their purpose. It was quick, oddly so. The Guilders seemed to have been tired out from the constant patrols allowing for the mosquitoes to make quick work of most of them, however there were those highly talented and experienced individuals out there who sensed something amiss but never suspected the mosquitoes to be the threat. Their downfall was swift as the poison took effect quickly and forced them into unconsciousness while stealing their blood samples. It was still too easy though as even those on the level of being a Guild Leader fell victim to this ploy.

Unknown to Draig he had received help in an unexpected place.

Up above the city his Robes fluttered majestically as his spell glowed ominously in his hands.

'Kid I hope I can reveal everything to you one day, for now take this as my apology for all the mistakes I made' thought Zarra as he watched a familiar figure depart from a building that he recognized from the many times he had spied on the boy.

Behind this figure an older man could be seen running as well, Zarra watched as they approached the walls but the gates were on lock down.

"I suppose after doing this even this much shouldn't be much worse" muttered Zarra as the walls around the city fell leaving Draig an exit.

Zarra saw a mosquito approaching him and chuckled.

"Even after doing all this you still want more, geez being a dad is tough" laughed the mage as he offered a drop of blood to the crystal mosquito.

'Hope it helps you in the future' thought Zarra as he pretended to be unconscious.

Draig knew someone hadn't thought too deeply into the ease and the coincidences that had taken place in order for him to make his escape however the Class System rang out again with what would be recognized as one of great changes in history.

'Analysis complete, Classification roster updated. Introducing class evolution system, Introducing Relic generator, Introducing patron System. Bounty system activated, generating Offices'

At this point structures began appearing in near settlements of both Humans and the other races and beings.

'Generating rewards, Generating new resources'

After this message the world itself began to change causing the preexisting structures to start falling into ruin, destroying the walls that protected the cities and sending the common populace into a panic.

It lasted for some time until finally the announcement came again echoing throughout the world.

'Restructure and configuration complete'

Draig regained his baring after a moment, it seemed the world was no longer something anyone could claim to be knowledgeable about. Humans had fallen from their standing as number one in the matter of days, their civilizations crumpled and their only advantage had been made available to all.

Draig thinking of these things felt something he hadn't had for a moment a genuine happiness pervaded his being.

Thinking longer Draig decided he should explore this new world and see what it had to offer, he wished to meet other Vampires and the other races and perhaps gain some more abilities from any class holder that would cross him.

"Where to next my Lord" asked the Werewolf as he didn't really have an answer.

Draig snapped his fingers and the ring on Kira's finger deactivated its enchantment.

"You can go wherever you wish, I feel that you have served your purpose well and prevented me from being lynched in that competition. It will be troublesome if we travel together anyways" stated Draig wistfully.

"I appreciate the sentiment kid but I think these old bones of mine can handle a bit more trouble, besides I'm starting to think perhaps you can do something great" stated Kira smiling at Draig.

"Thank you but I think this a journey I need to make by myself, I need to experience more but if you insist then I will enchant your ring again to alert you when it is time for us to reunite" stated Draig causing the Werewolf to nod as he offered his hand baring the ring of the Dread Knights.

It was easy for the Vampire and was done quickly.

"What will you do in the meantime" asked Draig curiously as he stared at the Werewolf.

"I suppose I will return home, I haven't seen my family in many years due to that humiliating injury. I think it would be for the best to see them" answered the old wolf.

Draig nodded and turned away without saying another word.

Kira watched on feeling moved by the thought of Draig's future prospects.

'May you remain safe along your journey' thought the Werewolf before stomping the ground and disappearing in a whirlwind.
