2 Feng, the Greatest Cosmic Overlord!

After the ten whips, possibly scarring his back, Feng sobbed.

"Dad, you know I don't sleep on my belly. This night's going to be rough on me."

"That's for cursing. Where did you even learn that word?"

Feng thought for a while before saying without hesitation.

"Lin, he swears at three times a day."

"..."

Feng's father and mother looked at each other.

"Maybe that's his cultivation technique-"

"Damned kid! Go to your bedroom and sleep!"

"Ouch, okay, okay!" Feng then closed the curtain, splitting an area for himself. He turned around and saw a rag on the floor.

'Yup! Home sweet home! Also, is there another truck here? I want to die again.'

After considering if he should go out and fine cliff, Feng finally lied on the rag and covered himself from the cold.

"Dear, is it fine to be so harsh on him?" Feng's mother said on the other side of the curtain.

"It is necessary. The world is not as easy as it seems. We are just lucky we are born in this peaceful valley."

"I see... I hope Feng worked hard and become a cultivator soon. Being strong gives us nice beds."'

"Yes, if he became stronger than me, I will not be able to whip him any longer..."

The father and mother talked to themselves which Feng can easily overhear. The previous Feng would've been affected by it but the Feng now knew that this is all intentional.

'You can't guilt-trip or motivate me! I'll guilt trip my own!'

"Zzz..."

Hearing Feng's snore, his father and mother almost dropped their jaw.

"M-maybe, he's just really tired." the mother reasoned.

"But he slept the whole afternoon to evening. How can he be tired?"

"He's just eight, there's no way he would intentionally snore at us to shut us up."

"But this is the first time he snored. Hays, let's just go to sleep."

Feng was just playing sleep... at first... a moment later his snores became genuine.

The night passed and dawn came, illuminating the Gentle Breeze Valley.

Feng's father went out for job-hunting while his mother took care of their small house. Meanwhile, Feng himself returned to the small forest after eating so porridge.

Since they can absorb qi, they just need to eat once a day to sustain their energy. Eating is considered enjoyment for some but for those who can gather mystical ingredients, herbs, and edible beast meat, eating helps their cultivation.

The Gentle Breeze Valley doesn't have that privilege. They were even happy there are no wild beasts near them. Even an Earth Beast which is comparable to the Body Refinement Realm of cultivators can run amok and make some fatal injuries - worse - deaths.

"Hey, Feng, here you are!" a red-headed boy was waving his hand towards Feng from afar.

He is Feng's friend, Lin. Handsome and talented... in their standards... truly a league above Feng.

Seeing this friend of his, Feng's suicidal urges skyrocketed.

"Ling!" but he still waved back with a smile on his face.

"What are we going to play today?" Lin excitedly said, jumping up and down like a dog waiting for its owner to throw a stick.

"Hm... we are going to play, let's help me reach the First Stage of Body Refinement Realm!"

Feng exclaimed which was like a cold water poured onto Lin's enthusiasm. Seeing his friend's reaction, Feng laughed and patted him.

"Feng, don't worry about your cultivation! Once you reached the age of 9, you will go through the Cultivator's Trial and Examination. There, the village elders will see your hidden great Physique and true talent!"

Even the Feng today has no idea why this friend of his that is older and more talented always wags his tail on him.

'Only if he's a she. I just have to wait nine more years and I will have a cute girlfriend.' Feng inwardly shook his head.

"Let's forgot about that, let's play chase!" he continued.

"Yay! You're it!"

Lin began running and Feng tried to catch him.

The two ran and laughed, in actuality, Lin was just the one who was laughing.

'Why is he fast as fuck? I only played because the usual Feng always plays with him. And it's been so long since I've acted like a small child, is it so bad!?'

"Haa!" Feng began to perspire as his running became wobbly, "W-wait!" his voice husky as well.

Lin turned around. He was just sweating a bit but Feng looked like he was about to drop dead.

"Are you okay?"

"L... let's change the game... One with less running." Feng seemingly pleaded as he dropped on his knees.

"Hmm...? How about Punch-en-fall?"

"Punch-en-fall?" Feng searched his memories.

They used to play this game before Lin became "talented" and strong. They would punch each other's arm until one cries or one fall.

It is definitely a kid's game.

But knowing that Lin must have got half the strength of an adult now, Fend shook his head.

"Nononono, how about hide and seek? You seek and I hide?"

"Yes!"

Thus, Lin counted while covering his head with his arms as he leaned onto a tree.

Feng ran with all his might.

'I don't know why I'm taking this seriously but my ego will get completely destroyed if Lin crushed me at hide and seek!'

"Where can I hide? What is one place that Lin wouldn't think I'm there?"

Feng thought as his running became slower. He just recovered and now he was covered in sweat again.

"I think I'll just go deeper in the woods."

But then he remembered his father's words.

[Feng, don't go deeper into the woods.]

"That's right, I forgot. I must venture into the woods!" Feng rebelled.

It was just a small forest. What's the worst the could happen?

Half an hour later...

"I'm lost."

Feng looked around in the eerie woods. He was all alone except for the annoying bugs.

"This... this is creepy."

If not for the sunlight leading the way, Fend would've shivered in fright.

"Should I go back and retrace my steps or should I go deeper, risking myself to get lost even more with no reward?"

As if it was obvious, Feng went deeper. Not that he knew what's the way to go "undeep" out of these woods.

The more he walked, the more his body hair stands up.

A moment later, he heard a strange sound.

"An animal?" Feng asked himself as he knew that ordinary animals are common in a place like the Gentle Breeze Valley.

Steeling himself and coupled with his curiosity, he got closer to it. The nearer he was, the clearer the sound that he was hearing.

"Crying?"

He thought. This was a person's voice, not an animal. Although there are beasts who mimic the sounds of humans, Feng just hoped that it is not the case.

Finally, he knew that beyond the lush bush in front of him, he will see the source of the crying.

[Mom, Dad! I don't want to become a Cosmic Overlord! Bring me back!]

'A girl's voice!' Feng's eyes widened. Heroism formed within his being. Skirt-chasing 101: Save a girl if she's in danger and also if she's pretty!

Although he had never succeeded, why would he back out from the challenge?

Activating his hormones, he formed an absolute dauntlessness. With it, Feng fearlessly jumped out of the bush.

"I am here to save you!" he raised his fists and cautiously looked around.

However, it was empty. No one and absolutely no one is around. He turned and turned around more but saw nothing.

[What!? Who are you!?]

"Where's that voice coming from?" Feng frowned.

[Hey! I'm down here!]

'Down?' he looked down and there he saw... a thick book.

"What is this...?"

Feng's eyes were astonished at what he saw. He could feel a great power flowing from the book. His life on Earth was just nothing but entertaining himself, complete trash of society.

He played games, watched movies, and read books. In those books, he knew the cultivation world, it was cruel and mystical at the same time.

With his memories being transmigrated so naturally, Feng wasn't so surprised. Seeing this book in front of him, he knew that it was special.

"You're the one who's talking, right?" he asked for confirmation.

[That is right, I am! I'm the Cosmic Princess of the Last Dimension, Rumia Stella! I have a job for you, bring this book, my current form to a Stellar Altar so that I can talk to my parents! If you do, I will reward you handsomely!]

"S-stop shouting. You speak directly into my mind, it's making me dizzy..." Feng sat down and massaged his head.

[Huh? There's no way my voice can make you dizzy. I'm just at the Solar Spirit Realm, Third Stage, I'm so weak, anyone can kick me to death.]

"Solar Spirit Realm..." Feng muttered and from his vast cultivation knowledge... which is fiction that is... he guessed.

"Ah, you think this is some great realm, nope, you're currently at Ruhuna."

Feng didn't know what realm they are in but he thinks that it should be fairly low.

[Ruhuna? What's that? Also, what cultivation stage are you in? Are you weaker than me, you're on the Heavenly Body Realm?]

Feng smiled and shook his head.

"No"

[Huh? Then you're at the Solar Spirit Realm as well? Sorry, maybe my voice is just too loud.]

"No, wrong as well."

[Huh?? So you're just feigning earlier and is actually at the Stellar Mind Realm?]

'Stellar Mind Realm, that must be higher...' Feng assumed and still shook his head, "Nope, wrong again."

[Uwahh... sorry, Grand Daoist, you must be at the Cosmic Existential Realm! I'm sorry for my rudeness. I thought my parents brought me to a lower realm to gather strength and assumed you're weaker.]

"Hahaha..." Feng haughtily laughed, "confirming" Rumia's assumption only for him to shake his head and say, "Nope, wrong again."

[Huh? But there are no more than the Cosmic Existential Realm...? Or did my parents sent me to a higher dimension? Are you stronger than the Cosmic Existential Realm?]

Feng had his fun and finally said, "You keep going higher, why not lower?"

[Lower? Lower than the Heavenly Body Realm, the Divinity Realm? I can't believe I got scared and called you a Grand Daoist, you weakling!]

"I'm not a weakling... I'm weaker than that. Go lower."

[L-lower? You're not in the Divinity Realm? What's lower than that, wait, ah! Lower than that is the Higher Mortal Realms which includes the Everlasting Emperor Realm, Sky-Reaching King Realm, and Mighty Knight Realm. So you're an Everlasting Emperor?]

"Heh... I don't even know what that is." Feng smugged as he shrugged his shoulders.

[... Middle Mortal Realms? Great Knight Realm, Valiant Warrior Realm, and Guardian Fighter Realm... don't tell me... you're an insect?]

"You didn't mention any Insect Realm, why assume I'm an insect? Go lower than that, actually, no, I'll say it, I have yet to reach the First Stage of Body Refinement Realm!" Feng stood up and proudly said.

[T-t-trash! Trash! You're so weak, you can become famous! Body Refinement Realm?! We use that as an insult to our dogs!]

Feng stopped laughing and placed his hands behind him. This sudden change of behavior stupefied Rumia.

"I'm just joking, I'm actually at the Cosmic Existential Realm." he massaged his chin as if he's a wise sage.

[Eh? R-really? You're not playing me, right? I may be at the Solar Spirit Realm, but in this form, I just have my pure consciousness. I can't use my Spirit Sight to detect your aura.]

"Really? You just offended me. Such a small Solar Spirit cultivator dare insult me?"

Feng slowly raised his hand.

[U-umm... I'm confused but if you are I'm sorry! What are you going to do to me? I didn't mean to insult you, I thought you're a mortal.]

"You know what happens when someone insulted me, Feng! The greatest Cosmic Overlord!?"

Feng overheard Rumia shout this title earlier and just used it.

[C-c-cosmic Overlord!? Your Highness, please forgive me!]

Satisfied with what he heard, Feng crouched down and smiled.

"How old are you? You're so gullible, I'm just joking with you. I'm Feng and have yet to reach the First Stage of Body Refinement Realm."
