Chapter 46: That is one big ass Scorpion.

"So, was there really that many scorpions in this tunnel right now?" Titus asked.

"Sadly there was. . . I don't know what Arthrall is going to do, considering there are a few of them that are packs of scorpions." Arialle commented.

"How big of packs are you talking about?" He asked.

"One of the packs I saw was about 6 of them. There was another that had 5 of them." She said while looking at me.

While they were talking, I slowly fell asleep. Then I began to have a weird dream. I saw Devin. He was with his dad, and they were shopping. All of a sudden, some guys ran in with guns, and started firing up the store. Luckily, Devin and his dad weren't near the guys with the guns, but his dad tried to stop them. He got shot in the leg, but not before he knocked out two of the guys. The last guy was the one that ended up shooting him. When Devin saw that he froze. He didn't know what to do at all. When the guy got his money from the register, he walked around, and had his gun pointed at Devin's dad. Before the guy shot him, Devin snapped out of it, and charged the guy. He ended up tackling the guy down before he could shoot, but they ended up fighting for the gun in the process of being on the ground. When they were about to roll into the counter, I heard a shot. The robber pushed Devin off of him, and he got up breathing heavily. He went to turn around, and the cops showed up. Devin was able to roll over, but he had blood coming out of his stomach. When Devin's dad saw that, he pushed up near him. I saw the tears on his dad's face. I saw the blood, I saw Devin's eyes, I saw everything. . . I started shaking so badly. I wanted to run up to him. I wanted to hug him, but I couldn't even move. It was so freaking scary, it hurt like hell.

[ARTHRALL!!]

[ARTHRALL WAKE UP!!!]

"Devin no!!!!!!" I screamed.

It completely startled Arialle and Titus. I was shaking so badly, I couldn't stop myself.

"Arthrall! Calm down, everything is alright. We are here!" Arialle tried calming me down.

"My. . . My. . . My best friend. . . I literally just watched my best friend dying. . ." I started crying.

Arialle was startled, and Titus just didn't know what to do at all.

"Arthrall, who is your best friend? Actually what is a best friend?" Titus asked.

"I don't know, it was a memory I think. A best friend is someone who you've known for years. Honestly, it is hard to explain." I told him after I calmed down a little.

[Arthrall, you alright??]

{Honestly, I'm not. What the hell was that?}

[I don't know. I tried waking you up, but you just wouldn't respond to me at all.]

{I don't even remember falling asleep. Was that the System that did that??}

[Honestly, I'm not sure. The System is still down, so I have no clue on what is going on. Especially in the outside world.]

{Well, let me know when you can access the System again. . . I won't be able to sleep now because of that dream. . .}

[I'm sorry Arthrall. . .]

{It's ok Zoe.}

"Well I won't be sleeping anytime soon. After that dream, I would be surprised if anyone would be able to sleep. . ." I told them.

"Are you ok though?" Arialle asked me.

I looked at her, and I could tell she was really worried.

"I mean, not really, but I'll be fine." I said to her while smirking.

"Well, I don't mean to be an asshole here, but I have a feeling we will have company pretty soon due to his outburst." Titus commented while rubbing the back of his head.

"Shit, did I yell?" I asked them.

"Uh. . . Yeah you did. . . Really loudly too." Arialle told me.

"Fuck, I'm sorry guys. . ." I said to them softly.

"It's all good bud, just make sure you don't do it again." Titus said while smirking at me.

"Hahaha. . . I won't. . ." I laughed.

{{Arthrall, you ok?? Like honestly??}} Orion said while coming up to me.

{{Yeah, you ok??}} Onyx also commented, and came to my side to start rubbing his head on me.

'Yeah, I'm alright guys. Just a little scared is all.' I thought to the two of them.

I ended up getting up from where I was laying down. I picked up my sword, and started walking towards where the scorpions are.

"You guys coming?" I asked them.

"Yeah we are. . ." Arialle answered me.

We started walking down the tunnel, until we came upon the spot where we fought the last scorpions. I motioned for them to stop. I popped my head around the corner to see if there are any scorpions there, and there wasn't any right at that moment. I motioned them forward, and walked around the corner. That is when I was attacked by a Wind Spike.

"Fuck that hurt! It is right in front of us, but I don't know where." I told them.

"Back off, let me go in." Arialle commented.

So I backed off, and went back around the corner. I didn't see her, but I saw Titus looking at where she was. We waited for a little bit, when we heard a screech from the scorpion. I ran back out just in time to see her behead the scorpion.

"It was hiding in the ground kind of." She told us.

"Great, so these fuckers can hide too?" Titus complained.

"Dude, we are in a cave. . . Of course they can hide." I remarked.

"Yeah, but the spiders didn't. . ." Titus said quietly.

"Haha. . . Did you think it might be because they weren't expecting us? Gotta remember, these things have Sonar Pulse. They can literally see us right now, even though we don't seem them." I shook my head after telling him that.

I ended up walking towards where Arialle was standing.

"You good?" I asked her.

"Yeah I'm good. Just thinking how we are going to deal with these scorpions. We still have about 3 groups of them left, and one or two singles left." She commented.

"How big are the groups?" I asked.

"Six, five, and a four are the groups." She said while looking ahead in the tunnel.

"Yikes. . ." I commented.

"Indeed, you wanna keep going forwards?" She asked me.

"What choice do we have? Orion, take the front. Onyx take the back of us just in case we missed any." I told them.

After Orion and Onyx got into position, I started following right behind Orion. We ended up coming onto a single scorpion, I had Orion take care of it really quickly. We walked for about 15 minutes, and we finally saw a group of 4 of them. We each took one to fight. Arialle had a little bit of issues with hers this time, but we still finished them within about 10 minutes. I gave Arialle a health potion, and I also took one for myself since I forgot to grab one earlier. We started walking for a little bit, then we ended up seeing the group of 6 of them. One of the scorpions was actually bigger than the others.

I decided to take the bigger one, I took and put the Iron Sword on the ground. I grabbed my Shortbow off my back, and took out 5 arrows. I put them on the string of my bow.

"Mutli-Barrage!" I yelled.

I shot the 5 arrows, which in turn became 10 arrows. They ended up blasting the higher leveled scorpion. It didn't kill it sadly, so I took one more arrow, and shot it straight at it. It ended up shooting a Wind Spike at me, but I rolled out of the way of it before I shot the sixth arrow at it. The sixth arrow actually pierced it right in between the eyes, so it ended up dying. I put the Shortbow back onto my back, and picked up the Iron Sword. I charged towards the one Onyx was fighting, and helped him finish it off. We ended up splitting up there, and helping the others kill theirs. After that I went to look at the scorpion I had shot with my arrows, I ended up breaking one of them sadly, but I was able to at least retrieve five of them back from it.

"Fuck, I broke another arrow." I commented.

"How many you got left now?" Arialle asked me.

"20." I said.

"Are you going to have enough for later?" Titus then asked.

"Hopefully. . . Unless I find more, I might now be able to use them until literally the druid." I complained.

"I'll try to look for some chest while we are walking." Arialle mentioned.

"Thanks Arialle." I commented to her.

"No problem." She said.

"Alright, so there should be about 5 or 6 of them left yeah?" I then asked.

"Well from what I could see, yes. If not then we will find out sooner or later." She commented.

"Ok." I said.

So we just continued on walking, we ended up walking for a little bit before we ran into a single one again. I had Onyx take care of it this time. After he finished killing it, we continued until we ran into the pack of 4 of them. We split ourselves up, and finished them pretty quickly. It is honestly getting easier to kill them. Then we ended up going around another bend, and what we saw sent chills down our backs. We saw a giant scorpion this time. It had two tails, it also had an even thicker carapace this time.

"Holy fuck. It is quite a bit stronger then the others." I said quietly.

"What are we gonna do?" Titus asked me.

"Well, I'll have Onyx run up and use his Intimidation. Then I'll have Orion blast it with Wind Blades. Us three will just run up, and try killing it with our daggers and sword." I commented to him.

Arialle just nodded her head at me. Orion and Onyx already started moving ahead of us. So we followed them. Once Onyx was close enough, he started charging towards the scorpion. The scorpion noticed him immediately, and shot off two Wind Spikes right at him. He had to roll to the right just for them to miss him. They hit the floor, and caused a crater in the rock. He looked straight at the scorpion, and used his ability making it slower. Orion blasted it with about 5 Wind Blades, and in the process of that we charged towards him. We started wailing on the scorpion, dodging its attacks. It took us about 5 minutes with all of us attacking it, to kill it.

"Ok, now I'm tired." Titus said while falling back onto his butt.

"Same here. . ." Arialle commented.

"Alright, you two rest. I'll stay awake this time." I told both of them.

"Thanks Arthrall." Titus said while dozing off.

"Thanks!" Arialle exclaimed as she started closing her eyes.

After they dozed off, I went towards the wall to see if there was any hole in the floor, but there wasn't any at all. I started walking around the room we were in to find a way down to the next floor. Sadly I couldn't see anything.

{{Hey, I smell something from right here.}} Orion commented.

I walked over towards him, and knelt down to where his nose was. I started sniffing, but I couldn't smell anything.

{You sure?} I asked him.

{{Yes I'm sure. . .}} He glared at me.

{Alright, Alright. . .} I just shook my head.

So I started searching the wall, to see if there was anything different about it. That is when I noticed an indent in the wall, the size of a penny.

{Alright, I think I know how to get this wall to move, but I'm going to wait till they are awake. Just in case something is on the other side.}

{{Ok dokie.}} Onyx said.

{{Alright, then I'm laying down too. To rest up before hand.}} Orion said while curling up into a ball on the ground.
