1 Isaac & The Apple

"Where is he?" a young elven woman asked aloud as she was wandering around the orchard. The young elf was looking for her best friend.

She needed to find him so that they could go have an audience with her father. She was the only child of King Riordan the ruler of the Elven Kingdom. The young elven girl's name was Skye, she was a general and a princess.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity of searching for Issac her best friend she decided to climb a nearby tree to get a better view of the area. After a quick scan of the area, she finally spotted her friend. He was sleeping underneath a nearby apple tree.

"Damn it he was supposed to be practicing not sleeping," she cursed.

Skye watched as the leaves in the distant tree flowed back and forth with the suttle spring breeze. The cherry blossoms' tiny pink petals escaped from the branches, spinning in the wind, smoothly landing into piles of the crisp green grass. She let out a smooth breath as she took aim at a bright red sphere in a distant tree. Skye locked her keen eyes just above the apple at the stem where it connected to the great old tree. In the next second the arrow flew through the open sky towards its target and with a soft snap, the apple was freed from its prison hurdling towards the unsuspecting head asleep in the shadow of the great tree.

"Damn it, Skye! I know it was you" shouted a startled and groggy young elf. The young elf said as he rubbed his head with one hand holding the still bright but now bruised apple.

A giggle escaped from Skye's lips as she quickly climbed down the Cherry Tree she was perched in.

"Sorry Isaac, I couldn't help it. It was a perfect shot!" The young woman called back across the orchard. "Plus you are supposed to be training not napping." the female fired back with a harsh tone remembering why she had come to the orchard in the first place.

Isaac who was slightly bashful opened his mouth to try to come up with a defensive reply but the elf could think of nothing so instead, he took the apple and tossed it at the approaching Skye.

In one swift and fluid motion, Skye retrieved an arrow from her quiver and shot the incoming apple into two perfect pieces that landed softly in the ground between the two.

The air suddenly seemed to sense the tension and instantly stopped blowing. Then out of nowhere laughter filled the vast orchard. Skye still laughing handed half of the split apple to a smiling Isaac.

"Come on we have a meeting with my father and we need to head back to the village to get ready and change, then afterward it is time for training and then dinner," Skye said with a lighthearted smile and a laugh.
